Just started getting a few meals for lunches every week and wow. So so delicious! And it saves me so much time and effort. I have a lot of food sensitivities too and so far no dish has hurt my stomach which is a God send. Will keep ordering for ease, and they deliver on time every week. read more

I entered on a whim on my way to my car. And I'm so happy I walked in! I think the adrenaline from finishing a sculpt class across the street at Activate House made me impulsive. I left with two salads. And I don't regret it! My goodness the steak salad is to-die-for! The steak portion and flavor--amazing! As well as all the fixings! Nutrient-densed, well-balanced, and tasty! The 2nd salad I picked up was the Salmon Peach Salad. Ahhhhh!!!! I don't see peach in salads a lot so I'm very excited to devour it!!!! read more

We've been ordering meals from Alec/Deeply Nourished for years. I was first referred by a friend, and when I found out Alec uses organic/clean ingredients to make the meals, I had to try it! Since that first order we've ordered many, many times from Alec during busy weeks when we don't have time to make meals at home. I love how delicious and nutritious all the meals are, and Alec is always coming out with new and interesting dishes. Everything is organic, meats are grass fed/wild caught, and oils are clean (no seed oils). My favorites are the beef rendang, salmon chimichurri and pomegranate chicken. I like to get these in "family box" sizes so we eat the protein with either salad or rice we make at home, the food lasts longer this way. His entrees are also delicious and we sometimes get these for my husband to take to work with him. I also love the pesto and garlic chili sauces - we get these in the 8oz jars and they go so well with the proteins (or other meals we make at home)! For dessert I love the peanut butter bars and currently, the mochi cake (new item)! Delivery is always prompt. Alec is also really kind and very quick to respond to emails or texts. I have asked him about the surfaces food is cooked on and appreciated that they only cook on stainless steel and parchment paper, as this is really important and often overlooked! He also packs the meals in eco-friendly/sustainable boxes and is always updating packaging with the next best option. I also love that the big jar sauces come in glass mason jars. Thank you Alec & team for making healthy nutritious meals we can feel good about eating! read more

So yummy! Super delicious and high protein options delivered right to my door great for people who don't have time to meal prep

Super clean, super tasty food! Love that you can purchase either meals or proteins/sides/etc by themselves. Appreciate that everything is truly clean- grass fed/wild/organic. Food quality is super consistent, as are the deliveries. Favorites are the miso salmon, overnight oats, sweet potatoes, and beef dishes. Thank you for making it so much easier to eat healthy! read more

- Phenomenal food - Easy to order online - Easy to communicate with staff - Consistent, on-time delivery I couldn't be happier with the investment into my health! Once I finally admitted to myself that I don't have the bandwidth to make all my meals every single week and keep to clean, healthy eating, jumping on with Deeply Nourished was a no-brainer. Where before I was struggling, I'm now achieving my health and lifestyle goals and truly enjoying the beautiful dishes along the way. Thank you to Chef Alec and team for keeping things fresh and interesting, and for doing it all with such kindness and attention to detail! read more

Recommend for busy families with young kids!! We are a growing family with a toddler and newborn and are enjoying this healthy meal prep service for entire family. My husband and I have tried meal prep services in the past and Deeply Nourished stands out with having elevated meals that actually taste delicious and are nutritious. Chef Alec has a talent for combining meals that are flavorful and make veggies more enjoyable to eat. We started ordering meals with Deeply Nourished when I was pregnant and looking for healthy meal prep prenatal and postpartum support. During my postpartum I requested addition of seasonal soups making recovery easier with easily digestible options. We recommend this meal prep service for families looking for healthier and tastier options! read more

I'm not going to lie, it's not all that hard to find people who can make you an amazing meal. It is, however, hard to find a chef who can create a menu that can tie an evening full of laughter and experiences together. Chef Alec is that guy. From the moment he stepped foot into the kitchen, you could tell he had a passion for his craft. Fresh, locally grown produce- check. Quality cuts of meat- check. Customized menu to cater to specific food preferences- check. Consummate professional. All of that is hard to come by, however, the best part of the night was how he fit in. You could tell that, if needed, he has an innate ability to work his craft without needing attention or conversation. With our crew however, he became one of us by the end of the night and brought a refreshing perspective and helped enrich the conversation which was very welcomed. Alec- Thank you for a great evening my friend! I'm sure I speak for all six of us when I say, when I laid my head on my pillow last night, I truly was Deeply Nourished. read more

We really enjoyed these meals prepared by Chef Alec's. I love the convenience of having it delivered to our house and I really liked the chicken, the meat, and the veggies were good too. I will definitely continue to order these meals as it's easy to share with the whole family. read more

Chef Alec's food is simply amazing! I requested information about weekly meal delivery for my husband and myself - Chef Alec reached out right away for a consultation. We have only been through a week of meals but I had to come here and share about our great experience! We can absolutely taste the quality of food and the care Chef Alec takes when preparing/packing/delivering. I can't believe the amount of flavor he can pack into each generous portion. The veggies are flavorful, the proteins are perfectly cooked, and each sauce/seasoning accompaniment is spot on with great balance. I am so thankful to have found a solution to our past meal delivery woes with healthy, fresh, nourishing food delivered to our home. read more

This is a game changer for busy professionals. Organic and healthy, check. Fresh, check. Variety, check. Gourmet, check. It's worth every penny. We eat healthier consistently. We eat out less. Now when I leave the office, I can spend my time on things I want to do instead of every day of my life worrying about what's for dinner. I can exercise, hike, enjoy a walk with the dog, sit on the porch and read, etc. Basically, I get to enjoy more of life because this daily task is off my plate--pun intended! THANK YOU, ALEC! read more

Alec provided absolutely incredible service from the initial contact all the way to our multi-day event. We hosted an offsite for one of our clients and we needed everything to be just right. Alec delivered beyond our expectations. He was extremely responsive to the needs of our group - from adjusting the menu to accommodate allergies and to meeting the personal tastes of the group, to being extremely flexible to last-minute changes as our meal times shifted during the event to accommodate the learning sessions. The food was absolutely delicious and nourishing and at the same time, healthy. It was a beautiful combination of well-balanced dishes and flavours and he also took the extra effort to make everything aesthetically appealing. Our client commented on how seamless it all was and even asked to book him directly for future internal events! Alec took care of every single last detail and even handled clean up so our group could focus on the purpose of the event - relaxing, learning, and connecting. He was such a pleasure to work with and was a grounding, calm presence over the 3 days and took the time to connect with the group. The big highlights were the diverse options for breakfast and everyone LOVED the cooking class and how easily he guided us through a fairly complex meal and how AMAZING everything tasted. We would happily recommend Alec's services and hope to work with him again in the future! read more

The experience was excellent!!! From booking to the dinner itself everything was just perfect. I reached out to Alec about 3 weeks before Valentine's Day and scheduled him for a romantic dinner for my husband and I. He then sent me menu options and was very clear he's willing to change things around to make us happy. I'm a big foodie but the menu looked so good I chose my options and added wine pairing for it too, YOU WILL NOT REGRET. Alec arrived right on time and the food was beyond delicious, my husband and I couldn't be happier. Alec made us feel like his only goal is to make the experience as good as possible for us and he did. Alec is amazing! Awesome food, everything was fresh (some from his own garden), wine pairing was perfect. Was the best meal we ever had!!! Thank you Alec, for a absolutely wonderful evening read more

WOW! Such a good find. Deeply Nourished has served as a lifeline to me during a difficult season of life. The meals are packed beautifully in compostable packaging, each meal so colorful and generous. Truly a feast for the eyes and nourishment for body and soul. Have I mentioned they're delicious? Every. Single. One. I also appreciate that Chef Alec is not only open to feedback, he loves it. The folks who commented on the right amount of seasoning were spot on. I would describe the meals as perfectly understated. I've not added a single grain of salt or spice to any of the meals Chef Alec has provided. I haven't needed to. Chef Alec, you have a gift. The career counselor in me celebrates the chef in you. Thank you for your integrity, commitment to your work, and the obvious care you put into each and every meal. I am so grateful. read more

I have worked with Chef Alec Hurley for three weeks in a row to provide Sunday Dinner for Transgender women in the city. Where do I begin? As a transwoman of color, new to the west coast and as newbie in the marketplace for a personal chef, I didn't really know what to expect. After speaking with a handful of other personal chefs. I contacted Chef Alec and I am so glad I did! Over the course of the three weeks I have had an opportunity to witness how serious he takes his craft, how compassionate, and full of optimistic faith he is. . And yes, I used the word "craft" because it is like watching a craftsmen or artisan working with small jewelry pieces, each one builds on another to create something magnificent. This is how I feel every Sunday evening while looking at the gorgeous meals Chef Alec prepares.. As if the Dinner plate is telling a story. Colors textures, healthy and flavorful.. Beautiful plates don't make themselves. Chef Alec has knowledge, inventiveness and I also see brilliance in his work, .. here's an example: Chef Alec is a master at sauces and gravy ... his savory gravy is unforgettable and his sauces are always good and remarkable. I have heard girlfriends who say they couldn't get enough. To be consistent like he is, calm, steady, balanced and in harmony every week, while his output and input gets better and better.... That says "brilliant" to me. I highly recommend Chef Alec to anyone looking for a personal Chef. I'm Jasmyn Roberts and I represent, Sunday Dinner for Transgender Women. .. we always say. If its Sunday Dinner it isn't a party; it's a LIFESTYLE. read more

Last night my husband and I enjoyed the first of three fresh meals delivered by Deeply Nourished. We are from Seattle and eat a lot of salmon. But last night's baked wild salmon was good or better than any I've had. It was not overcooked and the flavor was delicious, lingering on my tastebuds after the meal. The green pea falafel was an adventure--new to us and enhanced by a moistening sauce. Delivery was on time as pre-texted, in a protective, iced bag. We're looking forward to the next two meals on this first order. As someone who's planned, shopped for, and cooked meals for others for over 65 years, I declare Deeply Nourished a godsend. read more

We had Alec prepare meals for 16 people during a family reunion weekend. He helped plan the meals and then cooked, pretty much on his own, three really wonderful dinners. Most of the attendees were foodies (and former chefs) and they were impressed with the quality and taste of the food. But beyond that, Alec is one of the most grounded and easy-going people you'll meet. He made the dinner prep fun and relaxed. Some of the attendees chipped in to help, mostly to learn some of his techniques. Most importantly, Alec is really into healthy eating and lifestyle. So the meal was very healthy (no dairy, no gluten, low-sugar). And, to our amazement, the "eat-everything and anything" gourmets in the group had no idea that all of the food was healthy. Most of them didn't know that the "sour cream" was actually raw cashews. Or that the New England fish chowder was thickened with corn cobs and "sour cream". They loved every bite. Bottom line: we had a blast working with Alec and strongly recommend his services. He worked overtime to make sure everyone had what they needed and that the meal met his high standards. You won't be disappointed. read more

Cooking healthy meals while still making them appealing to my husband and 3 small kids is not my strong suit. I needed a change because I was tired of having to make quesadillas when someone refused my food. I originally sought out Chef Alec for a family member but loved his food so much that we now order twice a week! Alec makes healthy and delicious meals that my whole family enjoys. The meals come prepared in separate portions so it's super easy to heat up and serve. In addition, Alec has always worked with me on any dietary restrictions and has happily taken all of my feedback about my picky children's preferences. Another benefit is that the ingredients he uses are top quality, which is something I've found other chefs to skimp on. I look forward to seeing what comes every delivery day, as he always switches it up to keep it interesting! I recommend Alec to anyone looking for fresh, delicious and healthy meals (that you don't have to make yourself)! read more

My boyfriend planned a romantic Valentine's weekend for us. I was surprised to find out that he hired Chef Alec for the evening. My boyfriend is usually a simple eater and not the biggest fan of veggies. Chef Alec used naturally grown produce and prepared it so thoughtfully that my boyfriend ate all of his veggies first! My boyfriend told me that booking Chef Alec was a breeze and he was able to make changes to the menu to make it to our liking. Chef Alec was on time, well prepared, and made our night a memory that we will never forget. He explained every course and insured that we were pleased with everything. Chef Alec was extremely personable and easy to talk to. My boyfriend and I are already planning to hire Chef Alec again for my mom's birthday this summer. Thank you Chef Alec for making our Valentine's Day so special! read more

Alec catered my birthday party this past weekend and I have nothing but nice things to say! Over 100 people showed up. He provided small appetizer bites that were a huge hit with my guests! I work in health and fitness and most of my guests are health conscious as well so it was refreshing to enjoy healthy/clean cooking guilt free! Amazing! 10/10. Alec catered a dinner for three (my best friend's 50th!) and it was amazing. Due to COVID-19, we were not able to have a large gathering and decided to keep it to a small girls only dinner party. Alec worked on the menu with us and offered great suggestions for wine pairings. He made modifications to the menu as requested, and was very accommodating. He was on time and very efficient. He was polite and kept his mask on the entire dinner. The food was well seasoned and flavorful. He offered an amuse bouche which was delicious and a nice surprise. He kept up with our pace and we did not feel rushed. It was my first time hiring a private chef in the San Diego area and I would 100% recommend him and would hire him again! read more

Chef Alec arrived last night at our rental house as a surprise 40th anniversary dinner and 70th birthday. We started with a charcuterie board that could have been the whole meal in and of itself. We moved onto a fresh salad, scallops with seared strip steak, and topped the evening off with chocolate molten lava cake. While the food itself was amazing, Chef Alec was relaxed and easygoing. He understood we were also in the midst of bedtime with a 1 year old and a 3 year old that kept coming down the stairs to peer in on what fancy adult things were happening downstairs. If you're planning something special, and need delicious food and a responsive chef look no further! Thank you so much. read more

I hired Chef Alec for my husbands 50th birthday. He was easy to work with, kind and very accommodating. We did a themed party with all of my hubby's favorites plus tapas reflecting his nationality to celebrate his roots. It was thoughtful, fresh, and super delicious. Alec came to my home to show me how to make a few good healthy meals and to expand my culinary knowledge. I don't have a chef's kitchen - but he made do with my simple utensils, etc. We had a few conversations beforehand to discuss what I was looking for, what I hoped to gain, and Alec made suggestions for what we should cook. So together we made a beautiful Ahi tuna salad with a coco amino and rice vinegar sauce and roasted beet salad with a pesto sauce. I learned so much! Not only for those two dishes, but how to make various healthy sauces to add to other meals, ideas to make things differently and I generally felt more empowered in my cooking. In fact, I took what he taught me and used it in variations throughout the week. Alec brought all the ingredients and explained why and how to do things, so I now have a better understanding of how to mix flavors, proportions, and overall can do these things on my own with confidence. Alec is unassuming and sincere. I felt comfortable with him in my home. He is a truly genuine person and has years of experience with cooking, ayurveda and can make a menu to fit your needs easily - meat eaters or vegans and everything in between!. Another thing I love about Alec is his willingness to share knowledge on an ongoing basis, without charge. I am thankful to know him. read more

Chef Alec is beyond amazing! I was looking for healthy, nutrient dense (and gluten free, I have celiac) meals for my postpartum time and Chef Alec went above and beyond! My husband and I cannot get enough of his meals and we are going to continue to use him beyond the 4th trimester because he.is.unbelievable. I never have to worry about cross contamination or something not tasting totally delicious. Even my husband who prefers gluten LOVES his meals. I hired Chef Alec for an intimate dinner with a group of friends. He was straight forward, punctual, very easy to communicate with, and just pleasant to be around. He can pretty much prepare anything your heart desires and has some great suggestions depending on the type of event. He can either prepare all the food at your place or bring the food to you already prepared. We chose to have the food prepared at our place because we wanted that intimate private chef feel. I referred Alec to my family and friends and definitely plan on hiring him again in the near future. read more
