We have had the pleasure of enjoying exquisite dinners prepared and presented by Personal Chef Yoann Taboyan (chef@yoanntaboyan.com) twice for milestone occasions. Each time, Chef Yoann delighted us and all our guests with an exceptional meal that has become a favorite memory. Chef arrived hours before serving, with specialized equipment and fresh, high-quaiity ingredients. He carefully crafted each dish and we thoroughly enjoyed the complexity and fine taste of his top-notch French cooking. He paced the courses perfectly, explained each dish beautifully,, cleaned the kitchen when he was done --in short, he cared about every aspect of our experience. His policies and costs were fair and clearly stated upfront, with no hidden charges. Complimentary extras included custom menu cards at each place setting, fresh-from-the-oven homemade baguettes, and a referral, if requested, to a sommelier for wine pairings. It's extraordinary to celebrate like this in the comfort and privacy of your own home. We wholeheartedly recommend Chef Yoann and plan to have him at our house again. read more

I booked Yoann's catering service for my husband's 50th birthday and I'm so glad I did! From canapés to the dessert, everything looked absolutely beautiful. I cannot believe this isn't some Michelin star restaurant. Everything tasted amazing. Each dishes was seasoned perfectly, not too salty or under salted. I ordered duck for the main, since that's my husband's favorite. I'm not a huge fan of duck normally but I enjoyed every single bite of it. Not to mention his home made baguette was so so good also! I'm still dreaming about every dish I had on this day and cannot wait to book him again for our special occasions. read more

Outstanding, professional, delicious are the words used by all of our dinner guests! Chef Yoann prepared a special birthday dinner for eight and I was SO thankful that I asked him to prepare the dinner. I worked with chef and his wife in advance to review the extensive list of options they had available for the dinner and select a three course dinner plus one appetizer. They were very thoughtful to recommend dishes that would compliment each other, yet also showcase his amazing talents. The day of the dinner, he brought everything needed to prepare the dinner onsite, including all special cooking devices. Watching him prepare everything was like being in a live cooking show!! The appetizer (WOW) was served exactly on time as was the entire dinner--and I think he left the kitchen cleaner than when he arrived! I will definitely use him again and can't praise him enough! Thank you Chef!! read more

Chef Yoann's home dinner was such an amazing experience! We celebrated a 40th anniversary for my parents and my parents loved that we were able to enjoy fine dining in the comfort of our own home. Chef Yoann was extremely accommodating to us, including when we had to move the dinner up by 30 minutes. He provided all of the plates while we used our own utensils. Chef Yoann's lamb was a favorite among our family, but every dish was amazing! The process for planning couldn't have been easier and the setup and clean up was a breeze. Such a great dinner! read more

It's hard to say enough good things about our experience with Yoann. He was so kind and easy to work with. He helped me plan a really special menu for my mom's 70th birthday and helped me every step of the way. On the day of, he was unbelievably organized and prompt, but also very flexible and understanding when the flow of the party interrupted the original plans for timing. And the food! Oh my goodness! It was easily the most beautiful food I've ever eaten. Each dish was complex and creative, delicious and balanced. And then he left the kitchen totally spotless! He was so kind, accommodating, and lovely. Honestly cannot recommend him enough. He helped make my mom's MONTH! Maybe year! . read more

I can't even begin to describe how magical this experience was. I could go on about Yoann ;) but I will just leave at this. For my birthday this year I wanted to do something intimate and special and Chef Yoann delivered above and beyond. We had him restrict his French, contemporary culinary cuisine to vegetarian and wow, it was incredibly delicious. The whole experience from the canapés to the fresh French bread to the 3 main courses including dessert were artistically presented AND equally delicious. I would definitely hire him again for another event in the future. Super professional & communicates well! read more

Simply amazing. Chef Yoann exceeded all our expectations on every level. His dishes are visual masterpieces with mouth-watering flavors. It is astounding the level of technique and skill that so obviously went into every detail. We had a group of 8 and he came by himself and knocked it out like it was a walk in the park then left the kitchen sparkling clean. On top of that, he was punctual (early even), super professional, and personable. I've already started recommending to others. Thank you Chef for creating an epic night for us! read more

Yoann is the pure essence of perfection. professionalism and going above and beyond. He produced each course of our dinner party with care and extreme attention to detail. Chef Yoann cooked an incredible dinner at my Bachelorette party. The attention to detail was exquisite. The food was presented beautifully and incredibly delicious. We started with canapes that had dry ice in the middle with beautiful smoking enveloping the bites. Each bite was incredible. Full of flavor and unique. Dinner was three courses and all were stunning in both presentation and flavor. He has also recommended a wine specialist to create a wine pairing with our meal. It was perfect! I'd hire Chef Yoann again in a heartbeat. Thank you for an unforgettable evening! read more

He is incredibly professional and you can tell he puts so much love into his dishes. My whole party was impressed by the preparation, presentation, and execution of the dinner party. He also left my kitchen in clean, spotless condition. I appreciated the consistent communication throughout the week by him and his wife Gina, so I knew exactly what to expect prior to his arrival. "WOW"...sums up our evening with Yoann. Every aspect of each of his five course meal was cultivated with extreme attention to detail both in presentation and flavor profile. As a "detail ninja" (I am a cosmetic plastic surgeon), it is often difficult to truly blow me away with quality, details and precision, but Yoann did just that. His cured sous vide lobster in saffron bisque dish was a top 5 dish I've had in my lifetime (my wife and our two guests also agreed). He wow'ed all four of us who have dined at multiple Michelin star restaurants throughout the world....and we got to enjoy the incredible food and experience from the comfort of our own home. He has true passion for his craft and it shows at every level, even in how clean he leaves your kitchen. The icing on the cake is his pleasant and friendly demeanor. We could not have been more impressed and grateful for the memorable culinary experience and evening he provided us and are eagerly anticipating our next evening we get to share Yoann's culinary artistry with more friends! read more

We hired Chef Yoann for our son and his fiance's engagement party for a total of 20 diners. Many of the young guests are real foodies, plus a few older epicureans and perhaps a few attending their first world class dinner. It was more than great food, it was a truly top notch dining experience. Perfection, really. Bravo, Chef! read more

We found Yoann on yelp and had him host a dinner for 6 adults and 2 children for my in-laws 50th anniversary. It was a great decision! We weren't sure what to expect, but Yoann exceeded all of our expectations. We loved the food and the presentation. Yoann is a true artist in both presentation and flavors. Yoann and Gina were very communicative prior to our event, answering any questions and gave us some great recommendations for dinner. The dishes were great and beautiful with some modern techniques combined with classic French tastes. The portion sizes were very generous and everyone was full by the end of the meal. This is a private Michelin star meal in your own home. Also, I think he left the kitchen cleaner than when he arrived. We recently had an intimate wedding ceremony followed by a plated dinner at a private residence. We wanted to keep it simple and elegant with just our families attending. Fortunately, we found Chef Yoann! He and Gina were absolutely fantastic to work with! He came to our house and presented wonderful and creative ideas for the menu. He was so easy to work with and took all of the ideas that we had into consideration. He created a 4-course dinner for our 14 guests that everyone loved, even the guests that were a little less adventurous! The dishes were absolutely stunning and Chef was such a pleasure to work with. The day before the ceremony, Chef Yoann created an absolutely gorgeous tartine bar along with a stunning charcuterie and cheese board for a small gathering of friends. Everyone was delighted by the presentation, everything was beautiful, and tasted even better than it looked (which was absolutely perfect!). We could not recommend Chef Yoann more highly! He was so organized and prepared, everything was served in a timely manner, and the kitchen was spotless when he left. Gina was great to work with as well! She responded so quickly to any questions and helped to make everything easy and seamless! Together they helped to make both events special and memorable! Amazing dinner this weekend celebrating my wife's 50th birthday with Chef Yoann and four other guests. He exceeded our expectations but no surprise based on the other reviews. Yoann made it easy to coordinate with from menu selection down to game day logistics. The 5 course menu was thoughtfully and beautifully assembled. And the cost was comparable to a 5-star fine dining experience but with the personal touch and attention and privacy you would otherwise pay a small fortune for. We will seriously be scheduling more dinners in the future and would highly recommend working with Yoann if you're looking for a private chef to cook for your small group. I could go on and on but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. read more

Chef Yoann Taboyan has a lot to be jealous about. Mad cooking skills. Amazing food stylist. He apparently has a great metabolism for someone who cooks and eats French food (I naturally have a distrust of skinny chefs which is 100% irrational). Anyways, Chef Yoann and his awesome sidekick/wife, Gina, helped to prepare for us a wonderful 10th anniversary 4-course dinner. They even tried to get me daffodils which were sadly, out of season, as a special request. Everything was very thoughtfully, artistically, and deliciously prepared. Flavorful and light dishes; interesting pairings. Our favorite was the chicken roulade! See pictures for more. :) read more

We had Yoann cook for a group of 13 for my birthday party and the food and presentation were incredible! We will definitely use him again. Chef Yoann created a culinary feast, an exceptional evening, and a treasured memory for my husband's 70th birthday. I strongly recommend him to anyone lucky enough, as I was, to have found him. From the moment he walked through the door, I knew I was in good hands. He brought everything necessary, from the freshest ingredients to tableware designed for presentations that delight. He was extremely well organized and yet flexible and sensitive to our needs. (We were eight adult diners, but our two-year-old and three-month old grandchildren were also present.) Dinner was unforgettably delicious. And Chef Yoann's warmth, genuineness, beautiful attitude, knowledge and love of food made for a very special atmosphere. His explanations of each dish were wonderful, and every mouthful, a blissful treat. Working with Gina beforehand was an absolute pleasure. Yoann left our kitchen sparkly clean. There is no way to overstate the absolute mastery I witnessed at my home this past weekend at a dinner for 25 people. This dedicated, passionate and extraordinarily gifted chef provided us with a dinner equal to what one would find in the incredible Michelin star restaurants Yoann perfected his craft in. The only difference is you don't have to pay $400 a plate for the pleasure - merely a small fraction. If he opened a restaurant I would have no doubt it would be the finest in all of southern California. When comparing with other caterers or personal chefs, I would encourage you to think of it as a comparison between a cheap poster and a fabulous work of art. There is nobody else in San Diego that can even come close - I know because I went through a dozen of them before finding the only guy I'll ever use again. Thank you for an incredible evening and here's looking forward to many more. Fred read more
