My recent experience with Deep Water has been horrific. I was assured multiple times by multiple deep water employees that I would not receive a hug bill and again assured me that the insurance company pays for the mitigation. However now deep water is sending me a bill for thousands of dollars. I wish I would have had time to look around for an honest company that didn't try to price gouge me and my insurance company. Be aware deep water charges people the highest prices for overhead profit! It's not enough that they are getting paid thousands of dollars from my insurance company. I have a similar story to most of the other reviewers. A plumber from Flatirons Plumbing referred Deep Water for mitigation, who preyed on the situation and our inexperience. Deep Water was extremely unprofessional, to the point we nearly called the police. They put one dehumidifier in my home for a couple days and performed no other actual work. The company never checked on their equipment or came by to take moisture readings. We received a very, very expensive invoice for one "Water Extraction and Remediation" with no other details provided. What a scam. Additionally, again a similar story to other reviewers, the company provided an estimate to demo out an excessive amount of my house that was not affected by the water. Similar to other reviewers, these guys just started marking things up with masking tape that "had to be removed." Thankfully we did not cave to their pushiness, were able to get them out of our house without ripping stuff apart, and selected another company to continue the mitigation process after this scam of a company removed their equipment. read more

Had a plumbing leak in an upstairs bathroom. Plumbers recommended Deep Water to repair the tile / dry wall that had to be removed. They were impossible to get ahold of throughout the entire process and extremely unprofessional on the phone. They never called back when they said they would and took days just to schedule the work to start. They were 3+ hours late to every appointment that was set and were very expensive. This work was done in a rental of mine and they proceeded to tell my tenants that there was asbestos present before notifying me and before they even did any testing (note: there was no asbestos ever found). They did not treat my tenants, nor myself well at all. Poor communication, poor expertise and poor manners. Do not recommend. read more

Trash company! If you want the job done correctly do NOT go with this company. I hardly ever write reviews but this was the worst service I have ever received. I had to hire a second mitigation company because they were so incompetent and failed to document their findings! They didn't properly seal off the affected area and me and my family continued to have health issues! They only taped a hole and plugged in 3 fans blowing up at the air for 4 days and then sent a 2k bill once I had them come pick up the equipment and hired another company. Complete rip off! I just received a threat for payment. Insurance issued payment on Dec 10th. It takes up to 10 business days for payment to get to me to pay! They threatened to send it to collections if payment wasn't to them by tomorrow! I'm sure they have in house collections and rack on fees as they said the bill would likely double! I paid just to be done with this horrible company as I know the insurance check is in the mail. The owner/ manager Mike or whoever he is completely unprofessional. This company was referred to me by the plumber. They came in, did their inspection and set up dehumidifiers. I felt they were very pushy and also felt like they preyed on my inexperience in dealing with insurance claims and this type of mitigation processes. After talking with my insurance adjuster and deciding to use the preferred provider I turned off the equipment. The equipment was on for approximately 1 hour. I called the next morning and told the company I wanted to hold off on their services until I got more information from my insurance company. Later that afternoon I called and told them I did not want to use their services and we scheduled a pick up time for their equipment for the next afternoon. I received an invoice for $745.00 and unfortunately I had to pay it because I signed their forms. I urge everyone to stay away from this company. In my opinion and from my experience they take advantage of people in bad situations and prey on the fear that you have for the safety of your family and your home. I told them I was going to write a review on Yelp, Google and file a complaint with the BBB. To which they responded they would sue me for defamation if I made any fraudulent claims. I hired Deep Water to provide flood mitigation services after a mainline backup in my basement. Working with this company has been a nightmare. First, the company neglected to test for asbestos when they tore out our basement. We asked them to test for asbestos, and they claimed it was not necessary. A separate floor contractor from a different company later identified the exposed asbestos materials immediately upon viewing the exposed area of flooring. I received a positive asbestos test after I brought materials to a testing site in Denver. Because Deep Water did not test for the asbestos when they tore out the flooring, asbestos materials were exposed in my basement for over two months. Second, Deep Water employees caused extensive damage to hardwood floors on the main level, which was nowhere near the initial flood area. The employees that caused the damage left without telling me. After I contacted Deep Water about the hardwood damage, they assured me via phone and email that they would pay for the repairs. However, now they are refusing to pay to repair the hardwood damage they caused. Additionally, this entire project has been delayed several times because their employees have not arrived on time, or arrived at all, to scheduled appointments. On more than one occasion, I was not notified that their employees would be late or would not be arriving to a scheduled appointment. I'm still trying to finish my business with this company, but I've been struggling to communicate with them. It's been over three months of negotiating, and an appropriate solution has yet to be reached. I am hoping that Deep Water will fix the damage they caused. I do not recommend this company due to their neglectful asbestos testing practices, their unwillingness to repair damages they caused, and their unprofessional communication. read more

Deep Water was recommended by a plumber I really like after I had a burst pipe Christmas Eve. He even called them to give them my information and they indeed had it when I called (actually, plumber said they'd be reaching out to me in a few minutes, but they didn't). when I called, I was offered two appointment times, 10:30pm that might, or 9am the next day, which was Christmas. I picked surprise that they would be coming on a holiday, but the very nice person on the phone confirmed and said it would be the general manager himself making the service call. Also said they would help me file a claim with my insurance. In fact, she recommended I wait until they assessed the damage to file a claim. No-show, no call the next day. I waited until they were an hour late and called. Lady on the phone said she'd check to see where the crew was. I held for 30 minutes with no one checking back. I tried calling back to the local number I had several times, with it going to a message that there was no voice set up. I tried what appeared to be the main phone number with a Colorado Springs area code and the *same* person answered & knew it was me, apparently from caller ID. She informed me that they were too busy. Just that. No attempt to reschedule, no apology for just leaving me on hold knowing I was waiting, and no explanation for the reason they didn't bother to call to let me know they weren't coming. While is was on hold, I had the opportunity to look at their BBB reviews and I was alarmed by the 5 complaints in the last 12 months. Definitely sounds like they have some very sketchy business practices. I've seen enough. Yeah, I know you're busy, but it doesn't excuse very poor business practices with me and repeated apparent shady billing practices. Having your house damaged by water or sewer is VERY stressful. This sham of a company will make all of that worse. Everything you read about this company is true. They came into our house and started to mark off tons of drywall for demolition that I knew for a fact was not wet and never even got close to wet. His employees also ripped up tile that was freaking asbestos exposing my family to it. YIKES! They were at my place for about 2 hours ripping up stuff and then left fans blowing directly on the pile of dried sewage they didn't even bother to clean up!!!! That's right they didn't clean the sewage and blew a fan on it all night spreading it though our home!!! UGH!!!!!!!! Wow where to begin I'm not sure where I do know that we are 27 days later after the incident happened and deep rock came out to provide their services. Now they got their money however my 88-year-old wheelchair-bound Aunt still can't get her questions answered as to how high was the water in the house. Where was the water located out in the carpet? All these questions no one can answer but one technician who works for the company and for some weird reason for 27 days this technician cannot reach out and answer the questions. There's no type of paperwork provided to her so we can't even look to see where the waterlines were at where is the estimate at. It was sewage water we need answers to these questions. The lack of communication and professionalism with this company is by far the worst I've dealt with trying to get this nightmare fixed for her. Deep Water Restoration Company charged me $2200.00 to clean up all the raw sewage that was under my trailer after a broken pipe was found. They had to open up the skirting to my trailer so they could place their fans under the trailer to dry it out. The fans stayed underneath my trailer for a very long time. They ran 24 hours a day for at least a month. I called the company and asked how much longer it would take for them to finish the job. I was told by Michael they would come and get the fans. The skirting was never replaced the way they found it. I have called Michael, the project manager and I was told he would come the next day. That never happened. I called him again and Michael said he would be at my house the next day again. That didn't happen either. I'm recently widowed and I'm very tired of being told the same thing everytime. I'm still waiting and I haven't heard a word. Why do people, men in general, say they will fix something and they don't. If I could give them no stars I would. We had a small A/C leak in our basement and the plumber we had called these guys to help pull some carpet up and padding. The guys were probably at our house for no more than 2 hours and they left fans. They were supposed to come back on Monday to grab the fans but never showed. Then I called the guy said they have just been so busy. I told the guy I didn't want to have to pay the extra day since they didn't show up. We got over a $1500 bill from these guys for two hours of work and using fans for a couple of days. I was guessing the bill would be $300 given the amount of work. Stay away from this company, they just want to screw over insurance companies. It should be a red flag that they don't tell you how much it is going to be exactly before they do the work. read more

They kept showing up an hour or more late, and changing the times. This is not ok when you work full time, and have to be there during working hours as they do not come after those hours. On a Saturday they tried to show up an hour early and when I wasn't home, left me a message that they were leaving and wouldn't come back until Monday! I gave them a piece of my mind and they came back, like an hour and a half later. They ended up leaving a large fan in my home and didn't show up at the appointed time to pick up. When I called for like the third or fourth time, they told me to just throw the fan away! And the bill was over $2,000, about twice what I expected. read more

Beware. Our plumber called in Deep Water to clean up a sewer backup in our basement. The men came promptly and had the basement cleaned quickly. They told us they needed to have an asbestos test done before cutting into the wall, and ordered a same-day test to be performed. They did not bother to mention that that test would run us $500. That's partly on me for not asking, but the rest of my experience illuminates a bigger issue. I've called into their office at least 7 times trying to get various questions answered. It took 3 calls to get an invoice for the work that has been performed so far. It took 2 more calls to get an itemized invoice (they sent me one that just said $1200). Once I got the itemized invoice, I noticed a few charges that did not apply to the work that was done (over $400 excess charges). i've called back twice trying to have that resolved and it's still pending. I also had a series of emails to the Deep Water team that never got answered. The girls in the office are all very friendly, but none of them can seem to resolve an issue the first time I call. I shouldn't have to call repeatedly to get simple items resolved. Stay away from these guys unless you like making phone calls. read more

Please use caution when using this company and be sure to check out other bids. After some water damage (toilet overflow), our (excellent) plumber contacted Deep Water and it not only added to the extreme stress of the situation, but exposed my family and myself to additional health (COVID-19) concerns. First, the two 20-something year olds came in with their equipment, and no face masks. When my elderly mother (who is undergoing radiation cancer treatment--I can't make this up) asked them where their masks were, they replied, "We ran out." I was then informed that the entire basement would need to be demo'd and redone along with the entire upstairs floor, and then...he asked when we could move out and that insurance would cover everything. (Did I mention my mom was in the middle of undergoing radiation treatment?) I was also told that the kid knew someone that he could call who could pack my things up. I told them I needed to think about this. They were also out of a "floor mat dryer," and needed to bring one the next day. They showed up the next day (wearing masks!), but didn't have the hose from the dryer to the floor mat and would have to come back. Well, then their van broke down later in the day, and they weren't able to get back in time. When they finally came back a couple days later (I told them not to come on Mother's Day), they had the equipment and kept asking when we were going to move out so they could start the demo work. Thankfully, I called in TWO different companies to examine the damage, and BOTH agreed that the damage was not as severe as they said. Some drywall needs replaced and upstairs floor redone, but certainly not the complete demo that was proposed. Oh! And on one of the days they came to check the equipment, they informed me I still had a leak in the basement. We went to the basement, and he showed me the leak on the floor, and I said, "That's from your dehumidifier." He moved it and said, "Oh yeah, our equipment is old and needs to be replaced." My insurance paid them out, but they still bilked the bill as much as they could to drag in faulty equipment and expose us to additional potential health issues. I'm glad I have a new company in here to finish up the work, but it was a stressful week dealing with them. Please use extreme caution with this company. read more

Our plumber recommended deep water to us. It was a disaster after our main line backed up and we turned to them to help us restore the area. Deep water couldn't give us an estimate despite multiple calls. The whole front office seems nice but didnt get anything done. It took days to get an estimate of the work they already did and they still never sent an estimate on the rest of the stuff we needed done. They didn't hook up their fans right so that our breaker kept blowing. When they pulled out our carpet, they left staples and nail strips on the floor. One of their employees asked for 3 cigarettes. It was just a disaster. We are still left in unlivable conditions, we are very unexpectedly happy. It seemed like the second that we said our insurance only covers 5000, they work they already did costs 5000 and then they start ignoring us. I would urge you to pick a different company. Not once did a supervisor come out to inspect the area and give a quote despite us asking multiple times. Find a better company to work with. This company seems to pray on people's tragedies and has zero professionalism. read more

I needed to wait to write this review. The initial visit went well, and their teams are respectful and pleasant to work with. One of their owners indicated that they talked with our insurance company, State Farm and that the cost would be covered. Based on that information we proceeded. It turned out that the insurance company did not agree to pay and we were stuck with a $2,000 invoice. The only thing they did was installed dryers for four days and periodically check on the progress. My wife called and talked with the President. He was rude and condescending and my wife felt like this was a bait and switch. He did discount the bill by 10% which we appreciated. I checked other companies and we ended up overpaying. I guess that they are used to getting paid by insurance companies for these high amounts. We paid the bill but are very unhappy with the representation and we felt taken advantaged of. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I originally called a plumber because of a burst water pipe that flooded my crawl space they then contacted Deep Water and I wish I could've had the opportunity to look into restoration companies and called one of my choice but that wasn't the case. The only thing they did was pull my floors out and set fans everywhere. They said they would be back to check on the sub floors to make sure everything was dry. The initial incident happened on Monday and Tuesday they came in and said they needed to remove the wood from the subfloor but didn't have time. So why did they come out if they didn't have time to do their job? They set an appointment for Friday and when Friday came around, they didn't show. I called Aaron throughout the day, left voicemails, sent him texts and never got a reply. So unprofessional. I finally called the main office and they said Aaron took a day off and they rescheduled me for Saturday but nobody told me that. I took Friday off from work when I didn't really have to because nothing got done. By Saturday I was expecting Aaron to just stop by with his crew to pick up there equipment. But Aaron again didn't show and they were an hour late because their truck "broke down" it may or may not have been true but my problem is that they didn't contact me to tell me that. Anyway, they get there and they insisted that the fans must stay in till Monday because the sub floors weren't completely dry. They didn't want to place new wood anymore but just wait for them to dry. I said fine what's a couple more days. Monday roles around and what do you know, they don't show AGAIN. I called the main office and they said the guys would for sure be there at 830am on Tuesday. On Tuesday they didn't show up till 1030am and again I had to be the one to call to see if they were on their way. They never bothered to call and let me know they were running late. I was so upset I began to take there equipment out of my house just ready for them to pick it up and leave when they got there. And to my surprise the fans in the crawl space were never even on! Stay away from this company! I had a leaky hot water heater and the plumbing company I used to replace it called Deep Water to come start the mitigation work. They said they use Deep Water all the time. I was told they were based in Colorado Springs so it would take a while for them to get here. I have no idea why they didn't send someone from the Commerce City location. The owner himself came to start checking the damage and called a crew to set up fans to start drying out my floors so at first I was impressed. They were told in no uncertain terms that they would be dealing with my son and his work schedule since I would be out of town. He leaves for work at noon so they were told several times that any checking on the fans would have to be done before he left. I was assured this would be done. One of the days that he was expecting them to come they did not show up so he left. When he got home a magnet was left on the garage door saying they had been there at 7:30 that night. When I returned from my trip on that Wed, I had gotten a voice mail saying they would be there on Thurs between 1 and 3 pm to pick up their equipment. Since I could be home at that time, I had no issue with that. I had a friend come in from out of town so we were at my home waiting for Deep Water to show up. Three o'clock came but they didn't. I called at 3:30, 4:30, 5:30 and just kept being told they were on the way or I would be called right back with an update. Finally, when I called at 6:30 to tell them I was leaving, I was told there had been an emergency call and they wouldn't be coming but I was promised they would be there at 9am the next day to get the equipment. I reminded them once again that they had to be there before noon and again was promised they would be there at 9. Nine o'clock came, then 10, then 11. Since my son was still the one they needed to accommodate, he was just about ready to leave at noon when they showed up. No apologies of any kind were offered. The bill came a few days later with just a dollar amount on it. I emailed them to request an itemization but have received no reply. I wrote to the owner with my complaints and have received no reply. It is not convenient for me to call them from work, but I will continue to make the effort since I am not paying a bill that has no information. Unfortunately, the people who need to read this review probably won't see it since you don't always have the luxury of shopping around when you need a service such as theirs. I am also letting AAA plumbing know that they should not recommend these people. Maybe that can save others from the same shoddy service that I received. read more
