Colorado Cleanup did a good job with water mitigation after my pipes froze. They were responsive and got there pretty quickly. They were recommended by my insurance company. However, they charged above and beyond what the insurance company allows or will reimburse for. And I was not given any heads up about that. I was just expected to pay it or they threatened a lien on my house. So very deceptive pricing. I will also be informing my insurance company as they should not be referring a business that uses such practices. Definitely bad value and I'm disappointed that I chose to go with them. read more

Update-colorado cleanup services literally did nothing. When we brought contractors in, they wondered why the floor boards weren't replaced and the ceiling below the Bathroom opened up since particle board soaks up water like crazy. Sure enough once we opened up the ceiling the floor boards were all moldy underneath!! This is serious, especially with a family that all has mold illness and the mold remediation company didn't even take basic steps to remove the mold(and again actually tracked it around our house!). I wouldn't use this company again when if they were the only mold remediation company left in the state! read more

I worked with Colorado Cleanup services in febuary of 2023. They were friendly gave a great price and were helpful. Their contractors however went in and caused a large amount of water damage over two occurrences that cost me in the range of 14000 dollars in which they took no responsibility whatsoever outside of putting fans in the residence. If you hire them expect poor quality work poor communication and for them to shove any problem or issue they cause under the rug. read more

Denver. CO In January 2024, I had a leak from the water line going into the refrigerator/ice machine. CCS came in to assess the water damage and did the dry-out work. The teams that showed up to do the actual work seemed competent and did arrive within the timeframe indicated. One guy, however, did put small holes in the hardwood floors in the kitchen - a floor we were trying to "save." The cost of the service came in above their original estimate. BEWARE!!!! When the bill came - they charged me for services they did not perform. And charged me for an emergency/after-hours service call. None of the crews were out after hours. When I called to question the invoice - they did remove the line items that represented work that was not done and they did shift the afterhours service call to a normal service call. In the beginning CCS was great. Mitigation did a great job. Showed up on time. Great communication. I'd give that department 5 stars. It took a couple weeks to get someone to come by to quote the repairs but it didn't delay the start of the repairs. The bathroom looks good but there were a few problems that came up. I wasn't even nitpicky with the paint job (could have been better). 1) The bathroom sink leaked. Took them 3x to fix it. 2) I have a wobbly toilet. It's like going to the bathroom on an uneven table. They tried to fix it once and now they won't respond to me. I've sent 2 emails and 1 text. It's been a couple weeks. 3) The toilet sounds like it's flushing every few minutes. They say I have to get a plumber because the estimate didn't cover plumbing but if it wasn't doing it before it shouldn't be doing it now. 4) There was a problem with the water pressure in the shower. It was only tricking out. The contractor and supervisor couldn't figure it out. Once again the manager said the estimate didn't include plumbing so it's my problem. To me if the problem wasn't there before it shouldn't be there after. My son figured out the problem. 5) Contractor could have been neater. I don't know why they took off the plastic floor protection but the hall tile was left with white paint stains. Also, the contractor would say they would arrive at a certain time and either not show up or show up late. I was staying at a hotel so it was annoying that I had to get up early on a Saturday, be at the house at 8 and they would not show up on time. The supervisor would say he'd stop by but didn't show up. Had to contact the manager. It happened twice but the 2nd time was excusable. If you decide to use them for your bathroom repair make sure you sit on your toilet and make sure it doesn't wobble, make sure your toilet doesn't make a noise and make sure your sink doesn't leak before you pay them. Once they get your money they won't be back to fix errors. read more

Gabriel called to set up an appointment at my convenience. He updated me the morning of to give me a one-hour window. He was professional and prompt. He set us up with jet-engine dryers to get the area prepped for repair. I had the same experience when he came to pick up his equipment. Price gougers!! Had a floor drain back up and had perhaps a 20sf area to be sanitized and cleaned. Two men came out took a look and said it would probably be their minimum which is $500. They took some pictures and then asked if i was ok if they went out to their truck and talked to their estimator. After about 10 minutes came back and said it would be $1,200.00 for that small area. To Corey and the other gentleman ( I'm sorry I don't remember his name) that came and did the mitigation . They were all very professional yet personable , from the second they walked in the door they had me a ease that they would make sure everything was done correctly . We had a leak in our rental and hired them to do the remediation and repair work. They were quick for the remediation but took an absurd amount of time to get an estimate/work order for the repair work. We had to do many follow ups. At this time, we wanted to go through another company but it was already being processed though insurance and we wanted to get the work done ASAP for our tenant. They "finished" the job but the work was horribly done. Our tenant did not informed us of the work and we didn't find out until we did an inspection. The best description I can use to describe their work is to imagine a 1 year old coloring in a color book. That is how they did the grout/silicon work, if they even did it at all. Not to mention, they did not remove any of the old grout/silicon. They did not paint the walls after the basic primer (including painting onto the air vents). They also did not put any transitions between carpet and title. When we contacted CCS about their work, they essentially told us it is what it is and made zero effort to resolve this concern. read more

After getting three bids for mold remediation, I went with CCS without hesitation. They were in the middle as far as pricing, but the others were way below or WAY above. Gabe was fantastic to work with - very reasonable, very honest and knowledgeable. After talking everything through with him, it was clear to me that the lowest estimate wasn't going to do the job with enough care (they said it was a one man job, one day - CCS knew it'd be 2 techs, 1 day). The highest estimate was looking to go way way overboard. CCS was clearly not skimping on anything and we understand you have to pay to have this done right, but their approach, their pricing, their fairness and their promptness won the job. They were also able to schedule me in the fastest, showing a real care for home-owners. FYI - we had a problem that stumped everyone - contractors, mold detection company, all remediation bidders, etc. Our basement rug was wet for 2 months after professional carpet cleaning (by a respected company that did it right). Turns out that the previous owners had dogs that urinated all over the carpet - you could only see the stains on the underside. There was moisture everywhere, but no sign of leaks or anything in the walls or foundation - the carpet pad and concrete were fine! One individual pealed back a large area of carpet and noticed the stains, said he happens to know that when pet urine dries, it crystallizes and holds moisture. He was fascinated that it did so for this long, but it was the only explanation. As evidence, the digital moisture reader detected total dryness next to the stain, but moisture on the stain - even just 1/2 inch from each spot. Anyway, one big stand out moment with Gabe was when I mentioned that we wanted to have the concrete encapsulated after the remediation and HEPA cleaning. JUST in case there was more than the usual amount of moisture that comes through cement. The other two companies said sure, why not, who knows - especially with our odd situation. Gabe was more cautious. He wasn't convinced and didn't want us to spend more than we had to (!!!). What he suggested was that after it dried, he'd come back in a couple days to do moisture readings on the cement. He'd have the encapsulate in his truck if we decided to move forward. That all makes sense. He's going to take the readings and we'll see if moisture is really coming through (it'll be almost impossible to detect without a digital reader, but it might explain why the moisture stayed SO long - or not, it could just be one of those things). The point is he'll help us make the most informed decision. Good man. Easy to work with them throughout the estimate and schedule process. They are here today doing the job and it's smooth as can be. Friendly professional techs, etc. I'd recommend CCS big time - they do it right. UPDATE: techs Michael and Kendal did the job faster than expected, but completely thorough. if i could give these guys a -1 i would do it ..read on...this is a reply to a threatening email from them but it tells the story. dear Mr. Johansen. thank you for your reply but this is not how it went. i was quoted $500 to just remove the water. that was a very distinct conversation with your employees when i specifically asked them how much it would cost just to remove the water and not have you do the restoration. There were only 130 gallons of water in the basement and they spent some time taking stuff out of the basement. that is all. i was also threatened by your employees that if you didn't leave dryers, the insurance company would deny liability. i later talked to state farm about that and they said that was untrue. i just needed to mitigate further damage and since the damage had already been done, dryers would not have been mandatory. subsequent conversations that morning coerced me into accepting that your company would do the complete restoration. I was under extreme stress at the time and felt your employees took advantage of that to make me sign an agreement, which i neither had time nor was in any emotional state to sign. and if i didn't, my insurance coverage was at stake. but make no mistake about it. before i agreed to the full restoration, i was given a firm $500 to remove the water. Months later. After refused to put up the 50% deposit and refused to do further business with you I get a bill for over $1500 with no explanation except that is what the charge is for the mitigation which originally was agreed to be $500.00 actually this isn't even about the money. all I have to do is turn this bill over to state farm. it is about: a) being lied to b) being pressured into signing documents under a stressful condition and c) sometime later, being told that no work would start unless i put up a 50% deposit. that is when ended our association. no reputable contractor asks for a deposit unless the work is specialized, and this was a simple floor replacement. read more

My mom's house flooded over two years ago. After I got it cleaned up and empty, I called CCS for the rebuild. I truly regret not knowing about CCS from the beginning because I would have used them for the entire project. The two story house (2800 sq. ft.) plus full basement was 90% ruined. Jack M. from CCS came to the house and immediately put me at rest for the rebuild. He worked with the insurance company (which was horrible) through the process. After an exhaustive period of time the project was mostly complete. Then, the insurance company delayed the final payment for no reason whatsoever and one of the owners, Randy, called me to work out the details. He was incredibly patient and understanding with my situation. After five months, yes five months, of waiting for the insurance to pay, the check arrived and the account was settled. I'm not sure how many companies would work with their clients to this extent. Beyond the claim, I also had CCS paint the house, cleanup the backyard, replace the mailbox, replace broken windows, and other needed repairs for a very competitive price. I would highly recommend this company for all your needs. In fact, if I ever need anything done at my house, I won't wait for a disaster to call CCS. i had a water leak that emptied 120 gallons of water on my kitchen floor and into the basement and ruined the kitchen and bathroom tile floors. they showed up on a sunday morning, sucked the water out and generally did a great job on the damage control. but after that, things went south. it took a while to get one of their restoration guy out here. i had told him i would like to have this done by the fist week of Sept., he said no problem (original call was the first week of august). after the insurance got everything together, which took about a week, i handed the project off to them. a week goes by, no contact. i call, his VM is full and can't leave a message. called his cell phone, no call back for a day. finally got to him and he told me he had no response from the insurance agency. asked why he didn't let me know...we were on a tight schedule. i called the insurance and within five minutes, got the additional costs approved. decided to get a new project manager. got a call back from a Jack, who was happy to oblige. started to schedule the work and was told i would have to come up with half the costs before they even would start the project. WHAT?..the only companies who ask for up front costs, unless it is a special case or custom work, are those that use customer money to float their business. fired them immediately. this isn't my first rodeo with this type of situation and i have never had to front money, especially with insurance claims Plus, they didn't seem to be sensitive to my situation. guess they have enough business to pick and choose...good for them. to me all of this is a red flag. you have been advised. read more

My wife and I just purchased an older home from a fix and flip company. Within the first year our sewer line backed up and flooded part of our basement. While we were spending weeks dealing with another contractor to get that cleaned up, the cheap faucet in the basement bathroom broke and flooded the basement again. Not only did they work quickly and efficiently to get the faucet issue resolved, they took on the sewer water clean up as well, and even went above and beyond to uncover and assist us with other leaks and plumbing problems left behind by the fix and flippers. One of the owners, Jim Minter, coordinated between me, my insurance company, the plumbers from my home warranty company, as well as his people and all the replacement contractors (drywall, flooring, plumbing), making this the most hassle free series of disasters my wife and I have ever had to endure.
