History
Established in 2002.
As homeowners ourselves, we experienced our fair share of home improvement contractors and handymen over the years. We saw first-hand the failure to return our phone calls, show up for appointments, and perform follow-up communications . . . an overall poor customer experience. We observed a tremendous deficiency in the home remodeling and construction industry and an opportunity to start a company that could both perform quality work AND provide a positive customer experience before, during, and after the project.
With well over 30 combined years of consulting and project management expertise, years of weekend warrior remodeling of all shapes and sizes, and 3 personally-built additions to our own home, in 2002, we formed Deep Run Renovations.
Meet the Business Owner: Gary H.
Fascinated with carpentry and woodworking since high school, Gary made a difficult decision upon entering college to pursue a career in computer science rather than architecture. Despite spending most weekends in school back at his parent's house in his workshop or at Smith Mountain Lake building the family retreat and boat house, Gary stayed the course and entered into the world of computers and technology. After thirteen successful years as a technical architect and systems consultant in the DC-area, two years as the co-founder of a financial services .COM in Annapolis, and accumulating three IT-related patents for creative and innovate products in the technology arena, in 2002 Gary decided to puruse his passion of applying creativity and consumer-friendly consultation and management to the remodeling industry.
