I have been dining at this establishment since it was "Randy's". As with many establishments, things change. When the ownership first changed the restaurant didn't alter much. The portions were good, a salad came with the meal and the prices were moderate. Over the years the recipe has changed for their "famous key lime pie". Now it's no better than any others. The portions seem a bit smaller and no more salad with the meal. We had the snapper and also some clam chowder. Both were very good. But that is all we had, 2 meals and 1 chowder and the bill was over $70.00. I thought the bill was high for what we ordered. But the quality is very good. I gave them 4 stars for the quality and level of service. But I would not dine at this establishment anymore. Too many other places to enjoy in the area. read more

Way overpriced for almost fast food type of place. Hush ouppies always came burnt. The little 4oz fish came on a huge bed of rice was tasteless and presentation poorly executed. It was fair. Mahi was fresh and good, but crab stuffing was meager and Buerre Blanc was non-existent. Cheddar potatoes didn't taste at all cheesy and yet were oddly yellow. Calamari app was boring, even with the up-charged addition of peppers. It was also presented rather sloppy. Calamari was just scattered on a plate that was far too big. Had lunch here on our day trip to Naples. Glad to have found it. Greeted very nicely. Seated immediately, as the restaurant was not too full. Were informed of Happy Hour special not only from greeter but from server as well. Our server, Kelly, was very nice and personable. We started with conch fritters. We were served 8 as long with a dipping sauce. Fritters had a good amount of conch and not a lot of coating. Had beer and wine from their Happy Hour menu. My entree was the shrimp basket with Cole slaw as my side. Good value and again, the shrimp was not overly coated. My husband had the fried clams with french fries. He said it was very good also. We both had the Key Lime Pie. It wasn't very tart and it wasn't too sweet. It was the perfect mix. All in all, we will definitely return, next time we decide to take another day trip from Miami to Naples. read more

Recommend by friends. Our group had chowder and gumbo to start.Both very tasty & hot, gumbo had a nice bite to it. Lunch of raw oysters, cold shrimp with old bay grouper and fish & chips. Everything very tasty our group of 4 cleaned their plates! The restaurant has a nice selection of fresh seafood to cook at home. No fish house smell. Clean and neat, easy parking & attentive service. We went to check out the new restaurant, as we had always enjoyed Randy's. Would have to say that we love the new place even more. Nicely, and tastefully updated. Friendly staff. The portions were very generous as well. We all ordered the fish tacos with fried fish, and it came with a salad, bread, plus two sides for $16. Couldn't even finish half our dinner! Wanted to try this for 2 years, especially with its proximity to Pelican Marsh. Was VERY disappointed. Not only was the grouper sandwich too strong, but when I asked the waiter (and later 2 people at the seafood counter) what the difference was between red grouper and black grouper (specifically taste, thickness, quality) the answer I got from all 3 was "PRICE"!!! Really?!?! One was $14.50 and one was $19. It was so oily that I couldn't even finish my sandwich. You might want to try the more expensive black grouper because I ordered the red and would NEVER order it again. We live here and I won't go back. I've had better in dive bars on the pier!!! We visited Deep Lagoon after reading various favourable reviews. Our starters were crab cake and coconut shrimp, both of which were very good. We had both ordered Maui Thermidor for our main course, described as being served on risotto with lump crab and spiny lobster and a rich Thermidor sauce. The 'risotto' turned out to be a sticky mass of over boiled rice, nothing like any risotto we have ever sampled before. The crab and spiny lobster were impossible to detect as there was a abundance of sauce. It was tasty but thick rather than rich. The fish, however was delicious. We mentioned our unease to a lady who came to collect the plates. She said 'I don't like risotto but it should be sticky'. Our server said 'oh you should have said something when I checked you' when actually she didn't. This restaurant was not cheap. It promised so much but failed to deliver. The first time we went we loved it! The service and food was excellent. Our second visit was just mediocre. The grouper tenders were too fishy tasting and the grouper dinner wasn't much better. Don't be fooled by the coupons they give you for a "FREE" bottle of wine up to $30 on your next visit. We ordered a $34 bottle assuming they would discount by $30 but they absolutely refused because the bottle itself was over $30. I wonder how many others have been "duped" by that "offer". read more

Nice parking lot and wait staff. Would have given another star BUT... $10 Lobster Bisque had 2 pea sized pieces of lobster. When discussed with server to share with kitchen, the chef responded with a 1"plastic covered container with 4 more pea sized pieces of Lobster. Sorry...wrong way to handle a poor presentation/mistake. Could be an A restaurant with a little less attitude an a bit more product. read more

Went here a few weeks ago and the food and service were excellent, best fish I had ever had. Took my Granddaughter in last night and she had a salad with shrimp and she loved it. Following the good reviews on Yelp, my husband and I stopped by this place for drinks and dinner. Arriving around four pm, we were surprised to find hardly any patrons, especially since they have a happy hour. We ordered drinks and appetizers first. We had the blue crab stuffed potato croquettes for $5 and the shrimp, scallop, hogfish ceviche for $6. Both were phenomenal. Next we each had a cup of soup. I had the clam chowder. Excellent! Then, because we had heard such good things, we went even further and ordered the Captain's platter, which we shared. We had scallops, shrimp, salmon, and two other fish. Excellent! It was more food than we are used to eating, but everything was delicious and with the fresh bread, we were totally filled. Our waitress was a doll, as well. All in all, this is a real keeper! A true gem for seafood lovers! And it certainly did fill up by five by what looked like many loyal patrons! read more

I ordered the fish tacos and upgraded the fish to grilled shrimp along with a baked potato and asparagus. The shrimp tacos were delicious. The chipotle sauce added a mild kick of flavor which I loved. The asparagus was grilled which was a pleasant surprise since it wasn't listed as such in the menu. The baked potato was salt scrubbed and large. The bread was a nice multigrain and it's only drawback was that it was room temp. I would have preferred it warmed up. Our service was great at the beginning and slowed as time went by. We had to wait too long to receive our bill. Those were my only minor complaints. All in all it was a very nice meal and I would definitely go back. read more

This one star review is for the horrible and incredibly slow service, the food was wonderful but not worth the hour wait once seated at the table. We did not even get our drinks and water for at least 15 minutes after we placed our orders. When the food came out it was done in such a piecemeal fashion that in our party of 8, one person had nothing, 2 people had not gotten their salad which was part of their main course, and one person did not get their main course soup. When these omissions were mentioned we were told basically to chill. We received no explanation for the slowness and clumsy way we were served and no apology. We will never go there again. read more
