Hostess was a bit much....there were 4 in our group, she asked if we had a reservation (Thursday at 5:15) I said, " no, did we need one?" She stated, "It would be helpful." Hmmm, there were plenty of empty tables, the entire time we were there. The guy host, was giving another table a hard time about not making a reservation! Between the both of them, they ought scare off everyone with their reservation antics. Just asinine. Server was nice enough, attentive, knowledgeable. Food, the Fish and Chips dinner was awesome. This is my favorite restaurant! We come here for many years each time we drive to Naples.

Horrible service and mediocre food. We were a party if 6 adults and we were sat at a booth that seats 4. There were multiple tables open but we were told we had to wait for a table. Eventually we got a table outside, waited 20 minutes before we could put in our drink order, another 20 minutes before we got our drinks and hour before we got our food which was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. During that time our drinks were not refilled once and the server didn't bother to even check on us and ask if everything was ok. read more

We arrived here for a 6:15 reservation and were seated immediately which was where the everything that should have been good ended. Our wait person seemed nice enough but was pushing their wine special which none in our party was interested in. She definitely had to many tables in different parts of the restaurant so she would disappear and be gone for 10-15 minutes. One of the menu item is Organic Salmon, when we questioned the description it was told to us that this is farm raised with organic food. The designation is not the official USDA certified label, it's really misleading. When we finally ordered our appetizers they took 30 minutes to appear and our dinner arrived about 45 minutes later at 7:45. When the salads arrived one in our party ordered a side salad that was smaller than all the salads that came with the dinners. The food was mediocre at best, looked like a typical Sysco industrial dinner when it arrived. I can understand slow service with all that's going on and getting help at this time is hard to get, so why not keep the wait staff in one area to minimize the wait time. I definitely will not be going back here, overpriced poor service. read more

So this place is great and the bartenders are great. BUT the menu in some instances is pretty inaccurate. Or 100% nondescriptive. Fra diavalo sauce isn't creamy. But yet your sauce is creamy AF. Write that on your menu. I didn't want creamy and wasn't expecting creamy. If you are going off traditional, describe that shit. Please and thank you. So disappointed. Strange 80s vibe and strong seafood smell but that's ok, probably, because it specializes in seafood. The music transitioned seamlessly from "Rocketman" to "Boogey-Woogey Bugle Boy" without really affecting the ambiance. The blackened Mahi was scrumptious as was the lobster bisque. Key Lime pie was as light, fluffy and flavorful as unicorn dander. In case that analogy is lost on you- I really loved the key lime pie. Exactly what a key lime pie should taste like. Waitstaff was extremely helpful. Great service. And they dressed like, say, a golf caddie or maybe polo arena assistant, so you really felt like you were in Florida. This is a re-invention of the old Randy's. Gone is most of the garish decor and the unwelcoming entrance has been revamped. Fortunately the wide variety of fresh fish and Randy's scrumptious key lime pie have remained. Fish can be prepared in a number of ways and served as a platter with 2 sides, as a salad or as a sandwich with cole slaw and fries. The food is good quality but pricey (the halibut platter is $29 whether it's lunch or dinner). The key lime pie is real (not bright green) and not to be missed. If you don't get enough of it while you're there, you can purchase a frozen one to take home. read more

Okay...so far we've only had steamed clams, salads and the trio of seafood spreads.....5 stars! My hogfish snapper and her stone crabs are yet to make their appearance. Everything including our server Rosa has been top shelf. For me, a restaurant with a fish market is a likely winner. If this keeps up, I want a sixth star! Went in for lunch today. Grouper sandwich was great according to my wife. I had a cup of gumbo, (I'll get a bowl next time), it was really good, and grouper fingers which were also excellent. Only complaint I could make is the serving size of the grouper fingers was small for the price. This place is horrible. Went in to buy over $100.00 of fish and shrimp and the snooty girl at the counter got annoyed when I asked for ice. Then when I asked for 1 lemon she snapped at me "We don't give away lemons, we sell them." I turned and left. Place was empty which should have given me a hint about these new operators. We went here because a friend recommended it while we were visiting Naples. Overall, the food was okay, nothing to rave about. The appetizers were better than average (Hush puppies and pot stickers) but the meals were just okay. We had a group of 6. I told the manager my son has a serious egg allergy and asked if they could accommodate. She said yes, basically with anything. Then she offered something fried, and I said, "but doesn't that go in the fryer with other things that may have egg?" and she said "oh yeah, so maybe not that". So I was nervous from the beginning. I ended up ordering baked mahi to share with my son, which came with plantains and sweet potatoes. The sweets were made with egg, which the manager told me, so I asked if they could be on a different plate. When I got my meal, they were in a bowl on the plate, and not all in the bowl, but all over the sides as well. So I ended up giving up and not sharing my meal with my son. Not worth the risk! So, I wouldn't recommend going there if you have allergies. read more

Do not order the fried oysters. The night we were there they were almost all breading and they were tasteless. Be aware that if you make a reservation for a certain section of the restaurant, they may well not honor it. We asked for the inside and were seated outside where we found the traffic from 41 noisy and unpleasant. Also, be aware that they will not accept OpenTable dining awards even though they are listed on the OpenTable website with the available $10 awards. We had a bad experience all around. read more

We had two of the specials. My wife had the trout and loved it. Serving was more than ample. I had the snapper it was one of the best I've had. The clam chowder is full of clams and a great value. I've been coming here for about a year now. On my first visit I met Arnie, who now works at the Ft. Myers location. Super nice host!!! Miss him to pieces! I can say that the majority of the servers are top notch...friendly, attentive, and welcoming! I always have the gumbo and the pineapple upside down cake...both absolutely delish! However, I can't swear for the rest of the menu. I have to leave that to the other devotees. I can also attest that the drinks are good because the bartenders are very accommodating and are happy to make any adjustments for your taste buds. The ambience is great. Love the photos on the wall. I stop by every time I travel to Estero and that's about twice monthly. Absolutely my favorite restaurant on the west coast! read more

MANAGEMENT: rude and offensive manager, who didn't take responsibility for the fact that her employees are not properly trained and couldn't order a simple Cadillac margarita, instead tried to charge me $26 a drink by charging me for the cost of a shot of a certain specific type of tequila. She tried to pull that arrogant condescending manager attitude with me that she would make a one-time exception and remove the cost of one of the two drinks from the bill when she should have removed both, along with not accepting responsibility for the fact that her employees are not properly trained. Anyone in the United States at any restaurant knows what a Cadillac margarita is. Even worse, the waitress never bothered to inform me that they were going to charge me what a normal cadillac margarita would have cost. Clearly the manager didn't understand and doesn't understand the concept of word of mouth, social media, repeat and referral business, instead, was rude, arrogant and condescending to the customer, who's going to go back after an experience like that, incredibly disappointing after being a patron at Randy's and now deep lagoon for years. Seriously you want to lose a customer over a $26 mistake that's not even the customer's fault. If I had a manager like that they immediately be fired, I can't afford managers who cost me future business by being irresponsible and confident and rude to customers. read more

The one thing I dislike about traveling is trying to find a decent place to eat. In this case, Deep Lagoon did not disappoint. My wife and I wanted some good local seafood to take out. Have not had a meal here yet but, if there fish market is any indication of the product they are cooking for patrons then I must say use caution. I bought some cobia, triple tail, and U-6 shrimp. Let's start with good first, shrimp was good, end of the good. The bad was both the cobia and triple tail, the cobia was starting to go bad and the triple tail was just a $26.00 lb of bad fish. It stunk bad after I got it home, which some of you might say was my fault for not putting nose to product before purchasing and you would be correct.
