Update: After posting the below review, the owner reached out now that he understood better what happened. He offered to redo the work at no cost, plus clean the additional parts and apply the additional treatments that I did not elect to have done previously. I accepted, and they redid the work the following week. I'm changing my review here as a result of them making an effort to make it right and address the issue. I appreciate the effort to do things right. Original: I called Deep Breath after reading some online reviews to have them come clean ducts at my house. The offered a price that was fair, and I agreed to have them come do the work. There are two problems that occurred which brought me here to write a negative review, and I'll break them down in the order of severity. First issue: during the duct cleaning, they removed my inside air handler filter to take pictures inside the unit as part of their diagnostic/sales effort. When they reinstalled the air filter, they did not seat it in the tray beneath the air handler (they just jammed it in there), leaving a 1-1.5" gap where air was passing directly over the coils instead of through the filter, and as a result, when the unit quit working two months later, found that it had frozen over and drained multiple times on the floor, soaking the tray and pad I keep beneath the unit to catch drips, which was now moldy. So, the unit was intaking mold spores directly, not through a filter, and blowing them all over my house - not the outcome a person with mold-reactive asthma wants from hiring a duct cleaning service. When I called the company and explained the situation, their response was that they didn't touch the air filter when doing the duct cleaning. I mentioned the pictures they took inside the unit - they had to have taken the filter out to take pictures. Backpedaling, their response was well, if they did touch it, they didn't have a new one to put in and it was probably just a dirty old one that was too warped to stay in place so that was my fault. Never mind that it's as clearly a new one they jammed in there, I pointed out that it wasn't even in the tray slot where the filter is supposed to go, and I asked why, if they wanted another filter to put in they did not a.) take one from the massive box sitting at eye level next to the air handler that is FULL of new filters, and b.) mention anything about it to us. No, no, no, they said. Definitely not their fault, they said. They DID offer to come work on our system that they insist we broke somehow, but at their full rate, of course. Ha. Second issue: This is a company that does a lot of upselling. The duct work cleaning they quoted on the phone does not include cleaning the blower (that's an extra $350), evaporator coil (that's an extra $250), and the anti-microbial treatment for the in the ducts is not included (that's an extra $699). They come out on one agreed-to price, but then additional services total up to three times what was quoted on the phone. I did not elect ANY of the extra services. And then I got my air filter haphazardly jammed back into place, as though it were replaced by an upset tech saying "screw it, I'm not making a commission here," and eventually a messed up HVAC system that's been sucking in mold and pet fur for 2 months because they couldn't be bothered to take 30 seconds to unscrew the tray cover and put it in right. Do I need to say that I don't recommend Deep Breath? Okay, I'll say it: I don't recommend Deep Breath. I'm going to have to pay someone else to come do this work again, and I have to pay someone to come clean out the coils, and it is awful. I agreed to the price they quoted, and I paid their invoice promptly and in full. I held up my end. I don't deserve to be called a liar and to be on the receiving end of shoddy work that puts my health at risk. read more

Needed Air-duct, A/C, and vents, cleaned. It was URGENT because our family was getting bad reactions after only being in the home three weeks. The returns were the filthiest we had ever seen. Although we called other companies, we were quite fortunate that a family cancelled & we could get the estimate, and the work accomplish the same day. It was brought to our attention that another contractor was exaggerating our issues, therefore charging more. We were very happy with the work performed, and how things were cleaned up after the service call. The contractor even helped us with moving our cars. We definitely received a good price for service. read more
