This place has changed since originally going. It used to be THE BOMB. Id says within the past 2-3 years, It has gotten overly trendy, and now all they care about is the name brand when selling. They'll take the rattiest clothing as long as it's their idea of the right brand. What happened to the high-quality yet fashionable clothes they used to sell and buy from others? The whole point of these stores is to get something that's obviously used... but still in great condition. Seems like they are losing all integrity. Extremely RUDE and SNOBBY employees. It always feel like a huge task to simply ask for a dressing room or info on merchandise. Expect some sort of attitude or disrespect of some kind. The times I've come to sell clothes as well, the clothes are never up to par (even when in season) but when it's an employees friend..they receive the royal treatment. I went in to sell my clothes, and the two girls at the front had awful attitudes. I guess they were backed up on people's clothes, and they both made it visibly clear that they were irritated when I went in with two bags of clothes (which is the maximum number you can bring in). I told them I'd take my clothes back, and they put my bags on the counter without saying anything to me, clearly irritated that I "wasted" their time. I don't recommend selling to them. read more

I always come here when I need new clothes! I've found a lot of my clothes here. It's not the cheapest thrift store, but I still love it more than going to the mall and buying new clothes. They can be picky when you sell your clothes because they are looking for certain aesthetics and buy per season. But that's why shopping there is great if you like their aesthetic. read more

I have mixed feeling about this store. Clothes that I've made a mistake buying and I now think is ugly, I'll bring it here because they will buy those clothes from me. Clothes that are actually nice and have some style to them, they will be extremely finicky about and tell me that the styles will be hard for them to sell - it's just kind of weird with selling clothes here. The clothes they pass up on are usually nicer than the clothes they have for sale in the store. I've found maybe 3 items in the 4 years I've been coming here that are nice enough to purchase. Most of the clothes and shoes they sell here are extremely ugly, outdated and not in the best shape. And the brands aren't the best either. A lot of Forever 21, Target brands, H&M...just cheap stuff that I would never buy second hand. There are better boutiques in The Village that sell nicer items, you'll pay more, but you'll have a better quality item and look more put together. I give this place 2 stars because they do buy some clothes from me and the people that work here are never mean, they are pretty cordial. read more

Seriously, this place is a joke! I took my clothes on Saturday and they didn't take anything because the girl said all my clothes was "winter clothes." Then I took like 6 pairs of heels almost new and they didn't take any of them either. I clearly, had a few dresses and shorts (not winter clothes) I looked around and they sell some disgusting clothes and I'm thinking to myself really this is the kind of clothes you keep!?! If I could do a minus a star I would. This company made a mistake then tried to have me fix it. Instead of taking responsibility for their actions they simply got rid of my belongings to " donation" in essence stealing! I dropped off a load of vintage items, I'm in this biz for 10 years now. There were things they didn't take, I went back the next day and retrieved those items. They just handed me a bin and said we are only taking spring. That's fine I would just put them back in the store I pulled them from. I got home that night, a call from Deelux telling me that THEY FORGOT to give me some of my items. I said I couldn't come anytime soon since I live three hours away. I said I'd be able to make the trip in a couple of weeks. I was told that a note to that effect would be placed on my things. Today they called to let me know that last week they donated my belongings. Zero accountability. Take your amazing items elsewhere!! read more

Staff are extremely rude lately. Shop somewhere else. Hate saying that about a local and Claremont business at that, but gee they do not treat longtime customers with an ounce of respect anymore. They don't seem to take sales very seriously either. I've been coming in here since it was Raku. I came to DeeLux's grand opening, and I've been regularly shopping here for cards and random items for years now. They've got an excellent card selection and gifts galore. Today was the first time where I genuinely felt like I would never come back. I came in and grabbed 3 cards to purchase within a couple minutes. I get to the line, and its already starting to wrap around the cash register. I count 7 or 8 workers, but just 1 at the cash register. The lady she's helping has like 4-5 giant bags of clothes she's trying to "cash out" for her FRIEND. So the entire time she's texting said friend and calling said friend asking if this amount is okay and that amount and why don't they accept Cotton On?? Why don't they accept Forever 21?? It went on for literally 20+ minutes. They're looking up prices for items and again, the line is getting longer and longer. Not once did any of the other 8 employees come up and apologize, or try to speed the line up. No one offered to help the 1 girl at the register, but I see 6 other employees chatting amongst themselves. Texting. Browsing the store. Busy work. Not actually ya know, serving customers that are trying to give you their money. I'm on my 30 min lunch break, like some of us have jobs we need to get back to. When I finally had enough of this, I asked an employee if maybe they can put the cards on hold and I'll come back. Perhaps someone else can ring me up, I see 2 other cash registers.... I can pay cash, hell I can pay EXTRA cash just to get out of there. Again with 8+ employees working at a local hand me down store, it's WILD to me that they're not taking sales more seriously, especially after being hit hard financially like every other small business after COVID. Truly wild to me. I mean, they must be doing fine if they're able to hire 8 people doing busy work and no one actually dedicated to making any actual sales. 2 of the employees were super rude, acting like I was some crazy Karen for not wanting to stand in line for 30 minutes while some chick is cashing out bags and bags of clothes for her friend that isn't even there. When there's how many other people besides me just trying to buy their items and get on with their day but were too polite to actually step in and wonder where management was at??? I wouldn't be allowed to get away with that kinda attitude at my job, I'll tell ya that much. And again, for a small business don't you rely on local sales from local customers that have been loyal for years and years? Weird way to treat people trying to give you their money. How do you have 8+ people working there but only 1 on the cash register but the rest are texting and doing nonsense, chatting amongst themselves? I was walking around the area, and the store caught my attention. I went inside to see the items, right as you walk in, you're not greeted at all, but you get stared at. As I was looking at the items, employees were following and even shut the door when I was looking at items near the entrance. I understand being cautious, but that was very overboard and rude. An iffy place to buy or sell clothes. Whoever curates most of what is being sold has a thing for cheaply made clothing and bland styles. Some of the items that were on the racks were ripped on the hanger or had an unappealing stain on them and were priced too high for what they were. I'm sure that if you complained you can get a discount but why the fuck would you pay for clothes that make you look like you fished it from the dumpster. Selling here sucks because they don't take much variety. Most of the clothing is a one-type style that seems bland but if you got bland clothes you can bring it here I guess. On the rarest occasions I can find cute stylish stuff here but that's once a millenium. You're better off going to one of the thrift stores in downtown Pomona. read more

I gathered two bags of clothes, called to make an appointment and they set one up for me for that same day. I went in and dropped off my clothes and they told me to hang around the store while they go through my stuff. Within 20 min, they called me up and let me know how much store credit or cash I could choose from. It was a great experience! I'll def be doing it again. I unfortunately won't be selling here anymore even though I was a loyal seller since 2015. It seems like management or policies have changed in the store which really changes the whole experience. If you don't have an appointment preset online, you have to drop the items off and come back in 2 days to find out what your clothes are worth. They don't overlook your items while you browse or wait around in store anymore. Considering the fact many people don't live in Claremont and come out of their way it's interesting that you guys changed it. I don't think I will be coming here anymore. Customer service was the bare minimum if that. No "Hi welcome" or anything when you walk in.. I live about thirty minutes away but still made an appointment to sell clothes only to feel I wasted gas and time. I brought many clothes in GREAT condition, Levi's jeans, silk dresses, silk shirts etc. The employees only ended up taking like two things and said the rest of my items weren't in good enough condition to take. So disappointed by this consignment shop. I brought in four pairs of brand new, never worn, $120.00 a pair shoes. I bought them for my daughter and she never wore them and they were just sitting in the closet gathering dust. Also brought in a pair of boots that were in great condition, and a new dress. (All super trendy & cute) I figured I would get a decent amount of money for the shoes since they were brand new. I didn't have an appointment, so I dropped off the items and was told to return in two days. The staff was was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. I returned in two days and was offered $60.00 for all of my items. They were going to sell the shoes for $55.00 each (they had price tags on them). They would have made $260.00 on the items and were only offering me $60. I get that this is a consignment shop, but come on now!!!! I declined and brought my items home. I'd rather they sit in the closet and gather dust. Huge disappointment. But I will stress that the staff is great. read more

I'm let down by this place. I would always see it and feel excited to contribute to their store with some of the pieces I have. I know style and taste are subjective, but I have a wide variety of pieces in good quality and taste. I made an appointment to sell and showed up early like they asked. The website stated that they were looking for spring pieces like dresses and that's what I kept in mind. I brought around 20 items - the buyer took only 10 minutes to look through my stuff, and I saw that she didn't even look through everything. I felt a judgmental aura while I was waiting for my stuff to be evaluated and saw some of the employees whisper and make faces about my items, which is fine, but unprofessional to be seen. Ultimately, the buyer said that my pieces were too dressy, and that there were too many dresses, even though that's what they said they were looking for. Out of everything, she stated that they would've considered buying a high end wallet I had but didn't want to because it wouldn't sell. So then why mention that its considered? Its okay to have preferences in what's wanted, and wanting to appeal to a certain style demographic, but I just felt my contribution wasn't given a fair and thorough evaluation for my time. read more

Unfortunately if you live outside of a 10 mile radius of this place plan your entire day around it and make sure you get there 10 minutes earlier than your appointment since they're so strict on their "grace period". Two times in a row we've attempted to support this local business and have traveled from Beverly Hills to Claremont. As any true Angeleno knows even if you leave 2 hours ahead for what should be a 45-1hour drive to travel 45 miles traffic happens. We arrived approximately 13 minutes (3 minutes after their self-generated 10 minute grace period) and they didn't allow us to drop off our clothes... I hope their manager holds them to a 10 minute grace period if they're late to work. Anyone who arrives to work 10 minutes late that is an employee of this place should be fired for not abiding by their "grace period" read more

I wish I could give a lower rating. If you are an avid thrifter and are looking to buy/sell items here don't. Everyone on staff needs to take a class in customer service, they were all incredibly rude and acted entitled. For example, any question I had or comment was met with an eye role or blank stare as if I was an idiot. I hated the feeling I felt the entire time I was in this store. I've been thrifting since I was a little girl and the behaviors of the staff and overall experience I had here was crushing. I wanted to enjoy the process of selling my clothes and shopping around, and I hate that other people can make someone feel that way in a thrift store, not a Gucci store or somewhere in LA but in the I.E. !!!! I just want to say right from the bat that when COVID hit, I thought I'd never be able to go shopping the same way again. However, my most recent visit to DeeLux allowed me to experience a comfortable and safe shopping experience which reminded me of the good old pre-COVID times. With restrictions lifted slightly in LA County, DeeLux has opened up again for in-store shopping and for buying clothes. I made an appointment online to sell some items beforehand. I was able to sell 75% of the items I brought in and feel I got a good amount of money for these items. I know some people can get annoyed when they lug bags of items and end up selling less than 50% of their items, but it just depends what's moving in the store and what isn't. It's not a diss to your personal style or items you brought in. Also, I've found I have more luck selling when I bring in brands like Madewell, Adidas, The North Face, Patagonia. I want to applaud DeeLux for modifying their selling process to adhere to COVID regulations set forth by LA county. They wipe the selling counters after each client and they have stickers 6 ft apart near the registers. I didn't catch the name of the buyer who helped me yesterday but she was extremely nice and professional and courteous so shout out to her! Fitting rooms are closed but there's a 14 day return policy. Also they've freshened up the shop with new paint colors! Come check out DeeLux and remind yourself of the joys of shopping! read more

Fate guided me to this musk scented cave.... I believe I've stumbled upon a coven of witches. The first thing I spotted upon entering was a pile of unethically sourced Palo santo. I have no complaints other than the prices were a little to low. The sound of click clacking from the hooves of the worker bees was very relaxing. They trot about the store, very helpful. I felt transported to a 1960s department store located in New York City. I checked the thermostat.... 120 degrees, not sure if that is Celsius or Fahrenheit. I felt heat stroke coming on from being in there but I'm not upset about it. I know for a fact these garments have been sourced from Santee alley. I still don't have any complaints. read more
