Italian food is not my favorite food however eating here at Decosta's Restaurant made me change my mind about Italian cuisine. I had tortellini with alfredo sauce and friend of mine had a chicken parmigiana. First of all, we got huge servings, and the food plating was very pleasing for the eyes. The chicken meat was tender, the tomato sauce wasn't acidic, it was just right. My food was delicious, as well. The servers are very is attentive. DeCosta's is a clean and simply elegant place, without the posh accent. I will, definitely, come back and bring more friends. read more

Italian food is tricky for me. As a full-blooded Italian I grew up on the food and I find most of the local places to be not as good as my mother or grandmother's cooking. This place is an exception. The food is outstanding and a true taste of Italian cuisine. Everything is fresh, the pasta is perfectly prepared (something a lot of places mess up and a culinary sin that I can not condone), the seafood is the best in the area, and the bread is always warm and constantly flowing. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the interior is warm and homey, if a bit small. Parking can be interesting in the tiny lot, but its worth it. The waitstaff is superb and everything is always great. The desserts are also delicious. This is one of my "go-tos" for true Italian and the prices are reasonable, too. read more

We went to DeCosta's for a family meal and we were VERY disappointed. When I received my chicken parm, there was a long black hair in it. My hair is brown. We alerted the waiter and he quickly grabbed my plate and apologized. My new plate came out after my father had finished his meal and my mother was struggling to get though hers. She ordered spaghetti carbonara, which should have a silky creamy sauce. Instead, she got clumps of scrambled eggs nestled in her pasta. We received the check, which was $80, for three of us and there was no attempt to rectify the hairy situation. Normally I wouldn't have said anything, but considering two of our meals were about $20 a plate and horrible, I spoke to the manager. When I told him that it was generally good business to offer some sort of apology like coffee or dessert on the house, his response was ,"You didn't ask for coffee." When I explained that the spaghetti carbonara was inedible, he said, "That's how it always is." Yuck. I explained that between the hair in the food and the scrambled egg carbonara, he should have extended some sort of an olive branch. He looked at me like I had ten heads. After some more conversation, eventually he agreed to remove the scrambled egg meal from our bill. I was extremely disappointed with their complete lack of customer care or service, especially since their food was a C at best. I get having an off night with food, but not caring at all about a customer and their experience just irritates me. I will never go back there and I recommend if you're in the mood for italian food, go somewhere else. read more

Really enjoyed this. It was pretty laid back, yet nice atmosphere, really good service and really solid food. I had the cheese ravioli & broccoli rabe and both were very tasty. My dinner-mate had the gnocchi and was happy. Will go back - wasn't crowded on a Sat. night, wonder if it's the location? Desserts and coffee next time for sure. Chocolate cheese cake sounded nommy, but was too full this go. read more

Went here for lunch with a friend. Small hole in the wall I have always wanted to try in Yonkers but now I wish I had left it more of as a mystery than a bad memory. Ordered the lunch half sandwich and soup combo. I had the tortellini soup which was clearly microwaved as the soup was luke warm and the tortellini tasted frozen. The sandwich was reasonable, I had the grilled chicken sandwich with mozzarella which wasn't bad. My friend had the sausage and peppers sandwich which he did not finish. Overall the restaurant is very run down and could use a face lift for sure. Service was pleasant and prices were cheap. But not worth coming back for read more

I called in a takeout order on October 30th around 2:30 pm for chicken francese and seafood ravioli with a side order of potato croquettes. When I picked up order, restaurant was empty, except for one male customer eating at bar. My order was $43.00 for 1 piece of chicken francese with a side of penne and 5 seafood raviolis. I was very disappointed with exaggerated price and with the tiny portions. read more

My husband's family is from Yonkers and some of my extended in-law family has been coming here for decades. Going out for Italian is not something my husband and I do on the reg because I'm not a big fan, but this place is fabulous. I've been here twice in a span of five years, once for a baptism and once for a funeral luncheon, and both times were superb. I had to be rolled out of there both times. For today's luncheon, I had a very berry martini which was fantastic. The bread and the thin, seasoned crackers are so addicting. The antipasto salad was great, plenty of meat and cheese to satisfy this omnivore, and the Caesar salad with fresh croutons was also good. I really liked the shrimp scampi, and the chicken scarpariello was amazing. If I'm being honest, I probably wouldn't come back here without the family, but it's an excellent choice if you're hosting a gathering or looking for a cozy Italian meal out. read more

I enjoyed my meal very much. I stuffed my face with buttered bread, and then began on my meat ravioli when it arrived. The sauce was good with the leftover bread and breadsticks. I brought my kid here for his 18 birthday with the family. Naturally I told the girl at the door, who then inquired his name. After passing by this spot maybe 100 times in my life and not eating here, I made the reservation for dinner following the glowing reviews on Yelp and Google. Very important to me was the handmade pasta fact. We ordered the breaded mozzarella and calamari for appetizers. Calamari was perfect in that it wasn't greasy or heavily breaded. very nice. We ordered the seafood Pescatore, Eggplant, Cheese Ravioli, the shrimp and crabmeat Capellini for entrees. Everyone loved their meal, and service was very good. This spot is small and quality is high, so I would recommend a reservation, especially on or near the weekend. At the end of our dinner, the staff brought out a slice of cheesecake (delicious) with a candle on it, and we all sang happy birthday to him, very nice. A future repeat in need. read more

I had a 1 year memorial dinner honoring my mom at DeCosta's yesterday with 14 family/friends. I had a pre-fixed menu consisting of eggplant rollatini, mozzarella carozza, cold antipasto, rigatoni bolognese, penne carbonara with an entre choice of shrimp scampi, chicken piccata and pork alla nona. The food was incredible. The house white and red wine were good and the desserts of cannoli and tiramisu were so tasty. Pedro, Lisa and David offered exceptional service. My guests couldn't stop raving about how good the food was. I will definitely be going back. I made the right choice in choosing DeCosta's for this event & I'm sure my mom is smiling in heaven . read more

DeCosta's Restaurant - When you see pasta on your way... - Italian Near Me - Yonkers, New York

Had the most fantastic meal in years at this fine Family establishment. I had a spur of the moment meal to celebrate a birthday, with the kids in tow, and we landed here. The wine was great, the service excellent and the food fantastic. The kids had the pasta, which from the kids menu was a steal, and I had the veal Nonna, which had an absolutely Perfect level of red pepper heat. The wife had breaded shrimp, which was also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the clams casino as an app. Overall could not have asked for a better way to spend a birthday meal with loved ones. Highly recommend this local family run restaurant. read more

Hide Gem. This place has great food and exceptional waiter service. They stepped it up by adding Uber eats.

Moved from Yonkers many years ago. Went down tonight for a wake and told my wife we have to go to Dacostas like the old days. Everything was great, the service, the food and especially our waiter Tyler. If your on Yonkers dont miss out on a great meal and stop in Dacostas. read more

The first time I came here, I thought the food was pretty good. Once I kept coming, trying new things, I've learned to love it. The food is excellent, and every thing that I've tried, I've never complained and I have never had a bad meal. I keep coming back and will continue to do so. A review won't give it justice. So i'm here thinking, I'm going to give my mother a special treat at Decosta's restaurant because I've read amazing reviews. But that was the complete opposite, boy I was wrong. So little did I know that a personal call in reservation was actually a one-hour wait time. For an Italian restaurant, you would think the pasta and the shrimp would be well-seasoned but I was wrong on that too. The most the disappointing thing wasn't even the restaurant but the fact that my mother didn't have a good time on Mother's Day. read more

We were just passing through town and asked a local for a recommendation...then we had one of the best meals we have ever had! It began with the willingness and polite response when we needed to adjust our reservation - twice! Then it was the warm and family ambiance that you could feel immediately upon arrival. Then...the food! We pride ourselves on being happy and well versed connoisseurs of good Italian food - this exceeded our expectations! Great guidance from our waitress lead us to start with the Eggplant Pisa - which is a straight up tower of savory goodness! Mom had the Seafood Pasta which was packed with beautiful seafood in a gorgeous red sauce. I dove into the Veal alla Nonna which was a life altering experience! Breaded veal in a velvety light sauce with vinegar peppers and covered in paper thin slices of flash fried potatoes! I swear, some day soon I will drive the 5 hours from my home in DC just to eat at DeCosta's!! read more

Great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Warm ambiance, amazing food, and service that will wow you. Have been here several times for random nights out, special occasions, private events- you name it, DeCosta's never disappoints. My family's favorite go-to place for a nice meal. Nuno and Pedro always come table to table to greet all guests and address any concerns. All dishes at DeCosta's are delicious, but be sure to try the Veal Alla Nonna or the Pork Chops Alla Nonna; their signature dishes are as tasty as they look. More pasta choices than you can think of with combinations that will leave you begging for more. DeCosta's takes pride in using the freshest ingredients to deliver the tastiest meals. Try the Italian Mojito (with basil instead of mint); it'll blow you away. My mother is SO obsessed with the "Apple Brown Betty" for dessert that it's almost annoying, but it's a great way to finish a delicious meal along with an espresso or specialty coffee. An absolute must try if you're in Southern Westchester looking for a quality Italian meal. read more

Simply put, they make up with their service what their food doesn't have. The service and attention to the patrons is great but the food simply is bland and mediocre.
