The only positive part of our experience was the designer, who deserves five stars for her professionalism, creativity, and the excellent 3D design she prepared for us. Unfortunately, the company's management and business practices were a completely different story. The designer came to our home, spent time understanding our needs, and created a beautiful 3D closet design. We were initially very impressed and seriously considered moving forward with the company. However, when it came to pricing, we were offered a 30% manager's discount, which we agreed to consider. Before signing the final agreement, we carefully reviewed the proposal and discovered numerous errors and items that had been removed or cut from our original design. This was extremely disappointing because the proposal did not reflect what we had discussed and expected. The advertised 30% discount meant very little when items were being removed from the project. My biggest concern is transparency and trust. A discount should be a genuine discount, not something that distracts customers from missing items, changes to the design, or errors in the proposal. Thankfully, we reviewed everything carefully before committing further. My advice to anyone considering SpaceManager is to read every single detail of the contract and make sure every item you discussed is clearly included in writing before signing or making any payment. We were also very disappointed with the manager's attitude. Instead of handling our concerns professionally and respectfully, we found him rude and difficult to communicate with. The way our concerns were handled completely damaged our confidence in the company. We ultimately decided not to move forward because we no longer felt comfortable trusting the company with our project. It is such a shame because the designer was excellent, but a good designer cannot make up for poor management, a lack of transparency, and an unpleasant customer experience. My recommendation: Be extremely careful, double-check your proposal, confirm every detail, and do not let a big discount pressure you into signing. For us, trust is everything, and unfortunately, SpaceManager failed to earn ours. The designer gets 5 stars from me. The management and overall company experience get 0 stars. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

The consultant Diana understood our ideas and saw the vision that we had for our wardrobe unit. She was able to measure everything, and render a drawing right away. Being able to have a professional visit our home, was an important factor to us (in comparison to being in a store, and talking to an associate). Her suggestions about the trim and design were helpful to our exact specifications. She helped to set our expectations on the look of the wardrobe and the price of it. Everything was handled professionally from the contracts, deposits, and scheduling the install dates. When it was finally time for installation, the workers arrived on schedule, and they were young. They worked quickly, but they were not very careful. They did not show me the service agreement until after they packed up the room, swept the room, and were done. On the agreement, it said that they were supposed to use drop cloths during the installation. When I asked them if they used drop cloths, they said they did, but I noticed from one of my pictures that they did not use use drop cloths nor did I remember them using any. Safety-wise from the same picture, the drill is on top of the cabinet above their heads -- which can be dangerous. I also told them that it seemed like they were dropping a lot of items, and I can hear them from the next room. If it wasn't for the walk-thru, they would have forgotten a box of nails, a can of paint thinner, and a rag inside the cabinets. After they left, I saw damages and scratches on the wood floor. When, my husband came home later, he saw that the pulls were not leveled. We communicated to Diana about our concerns, and the company was able to address them right away. They are sending the production manager to look over the damages, and to fix the pulls. We love our wardrobe, the quality is really nice! We love being able to organize our home with it. We would work with Houston Closet Factory again, but would request more experienced workers for the installation next time.

She took the time to sit with our entire family, including our kids to get to know us and help us plan and prioritize. Because she's an expert at being productive, we really felt that each minute was used effectively. On top of everything else, she is very kind and understanding and didn't make us feel judged in any way, which we needed. Unfortunately, Susan had just had surgery and was unavailable, so I got stuck with someone named Theresa instead. Only later did I realize I was being SCAMMED. Do NOT fall for this scam!! This has been a nightmare for me. I work from home (remotely) so informed them that I would be working when the individual arrived and couldn't talk much to her due to that reason. Theresa arrived about 45 min earlier than when she was supposed to--which really inconvenienced me and was very unprofessional I felt as I was busy getting ready for the day at that time. But later I realized this was part of their scam. They keep adding more and more hours to your bill (at $72 per hour--which really adds up in the end) and Theresa moved at literally a snails pace, so ultimately they can keep billing you!! This woman was SOOOO slow!! She literally took 10 hours (I was working the whole time and honestly thought she had left long ago. I was shocked and horrified to find out she was still in my apartment!! I calculated and that would cost me $720.00!! On top of that, she only organized my bedroom closet and the kitchen--which I had not asked her to organize as I had already organized the kitchen. I had instructed her to do the master bath and laundry room which she didn't do AT ALL--but said she'd be back the following day to my horror!! This woman should enter a different line of work as she does not follow instructions and basically is a scam artist. She stayed 10 entire hours and barely accomplished anything!! I moved to Houston from Manhattan and have hired professional organizers there. This is not my first rodeo. However true professional organizers never need more than 2 hours (max 3 hrs)--and that's to organize your ENTIRE HOME!!
