As first-time homeowners taking on a project of this scale, we were honestly a bit overwhelmed at the start and knew we needed a contractor we could fully trust. From day one, BNO made the process feel manageable and brought our vision to life. They were patient, open to our ideas, took the time to explain each step, and helped us feel confident in the decisions we were making. Once we started physically seeing things come together, BNO was receptive to our change requests or additional work at fair costs to do what's right and what's best for the house, especially as it was not just a flip but planned to be our forever home. They ensured things were built the way we wanted and that we were happy. Throughout the project, BNO was professional, responsive (especially to our millions of questions) and transparent about the scope, timeline, and costs. They guided us through design choices and their quality of work really stood out. Communication was consistent, and we always knew what was happening and what to expect next. Like any large project, there were some bumps along the way but what stood out was that whenever an issue came up, BNO was proactive about finding solutions and focused on moving things forward rather than letting problems stall progress. They handled challenges responsibly and made sure we were satisfied with the outcome. Most importantly they orchestrated all the city inspections and always passed with minor comments, if any, that were easily addressed. Invoices always came when expected and never before the milestones were met. Overall, we're very happy with the results and especially grateful to have worked with a contractor we could trust for our first major remodeling experience. We finished in a little less than a year from demo to final which is very reasonable for the amount of work we did. We would absolutely recommend BNO to anyone considering a home renovation or addition.

(Note however that they provide a rough initial emailed estimate based on house info like sq footage- for an in person inspection there is a fee, but it is credited towards the final cost if you go with them. They do an extra thorough inspection and provide full documentation so in my experience it is worth it even if you don't go with them.) Other free inspection contractors by contrast ran through quickly and provided few to little details on the actual reinforcement plan. My crawlspace had a section of perimeter foundation that was blocked by concrete and required drilling a hole to properly reinforce- none of the other contractors noted this. Avant Garde not only noticed this but also did not charge extra for it. After the work they worked quickly with us on the documentation to get us our grant check. I did crawl the crawlspace just to inspect the work and it was done neatly and the area was left clean. Very happy with the experience and would not hesitate to recommend.

Mr. Galicia did thorough evaluation and gave me a clear explanation and bid. He worked with me to find best date to begin the week-long project. His crew was polite, professional, and very hard-working. At all points in the project they communicated with me about progress and took great care to keep the rest of house clean as they carried big two by fours in and carted debris out. Project was completed ahead of schedule and looks great. I highly recommend GAXL to anybody thinking of doing similar work.

I needed to install a Costco pergola to the roof of my patio. Not your typical installation as this…read morepergola was designed to be installed on a flat wall. The roof had gutters and slanted towards the edge where we wanted the pergola to be installed. Jose came a few hours after I had called. He looked over and he gave me an initial estimate since he couldn't be sure that there wouldn't be unforeseen complications. That was Friday. On Monday his crew came and cut away a section of gutter. Then they assembled the pergola to be sure of the require connection. They put two 2x6 of treated wood in place of the gutter that they removed. They had to adjust the slant in the remaining gutter so the water would not pool. Then the surprise, the patio slab was not level. So one leg could not reach the slab. The solution was first class. They drilled into the slab, placed rebar into it then built a form around them for concrete. They had made a cage of wire netting to reinforce the poured concrete. When the concrete was still soft they installed the pergola leg's mounting plate. To finish, they installed metal flashing around the ledger so rain water would flow into the gutters. The job was done right and we are very pleased with their work. The price was reasonable so much so, I gave them a hefty tip.

The owner, Dan, talked with us and I could tell right away he knew what he was doing and would do a great job. There was no high pressure sales tactic, just details as to what he found, what I needed, and what he would be able to do. The contract I signed was very simple, clear, and easy to read and understand. No complicated clauses or poring over fine print was necessary, which I very much appreciated. Pylon did three things for me: 1. Replaced a small section of fencing, putting in new wood 2. Replaced the main drain piping underneath the house foundation 3. Replaced a sliding glass door that was constantly getting stuck and difficult to open. Every one of these jobs was outstandingly done and at a very reasonable cost that was quoted right off the bat. There was no attempt to price gouge, use questionable practices or "hidden promotion" tricks to lower their price after the intial quote to pretend to give us discounts. As for the work itself, we are very happy with the new fence and door and the drainage that was an issue before now works very well. The old piping was obviously quite rusty and ready to go, so I am glad it all got done. I will be definitely contacting this company again for additional jobs later once my budget allows for it.

The project included a new turf installation in both the backyard and front yard, a custom concrete driveway with a modern spacing design, and a sleek metal fence combined with a concrete wall for privacy and security. Dan and Omer were great to work with throughout the entire process. They were professional, responsive, and really understood the vision we had for the space and add value to our ideas. The turf came out amazing -- it looks natural, clean, and completely upgraded the yard. The putting green area is a huge bonus and was designed perfectly to fit the space. The concrete driveway design with grass joints gives the front of the house a very high-end, modern look. The fence and concrete wall combo completely transformed the front it feels much more private while still looking open and stylish. Everything was done with great attention to detail and quality. The team stayed on schedule, kept everything clean, and made the process smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Dan, Omer, and the Pylon Builders team for anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor space --they truly deliver on both design and execution.

Their bid was 30% higher than 2nd bidder, and I didn't negotiate for a competitive price because I wanted to see why they offered it at that range (a test trial for them), and they seem very interested and sincere in my pergola project (replacing 1 post, 2 beams & paint, etc.). Chris was the main contact and he was a great person to talk to. He gave me some ideas on how and why those materials were chosen while executing a safe and secure worksite. The crew included 2 carpenters (Chris was 1 of them) and a painter. They kept their tools well organized and maintained. They agreed on all of my contract terms and conditions. The carpenters worked patiently with dedication on the premium redwood post and pressure treated wood beams. They worked on a light shower rainy day. Everything was great. However, the paint job needed to reschedule for a dry sunny day. The painter did a fair quality job on the part that connected to my eave and post baseboard. Over painting without placing a masking tape to set the boundary between 2 colors. The paint skill and mindfulness are in doubt. I had to clean up those spots afterwards. Yes I agreed with the painter's saying "Nothing is perfect in this world." However, his statement also telling me that paint job was barely meeting a standard practice in my project. Suggestions: 1) invest in masking tapes (protective and appealing are essential to excellence). CRV Carpentry has been honest and responsive throughout my project.
