I know hiring a contractor is scary. There's a lot involved and they'll be in your house for an indeterminate amount of time which makes it really important to hire someone you can trust. Tom came out to provide an estimate for our project. He was the only one of the contractors I called that really investigated the existing condtions and repair based on what he could see and his own knowledge. He spent over an hour at the initial call making sure he didn't miss anything and talked through the potential issues and repair. This was his time spent not knowing whether or not we'd hire him. He was also the only contractor to tell me he would only do the work with a permit. Whether or not you think one is needed, just knowing that he wasn't afraid of the permitting or inspection process was a big plus to me. Always ask about permits during the interview process. He then went to his car, drafted an estimate and came back to talk to me about it. I was really impressed at this point. There wasn't any pressure from him to sign on and he encouraged me to ask questions. The estimate was well defined and a bit higher than another bid, but from what I saw I thought it would be worth it. After we signed on, he gave a rough schedule and starting time and said they stay on the job until it's done. We had a list of items to buy and he helped us out there too. He was in constant communications and always responded, even on weekends. Before the work begins, it is pretty easy to promise things to the client while telling your crew something else. When the work actually started, Jesus was our foreman and true to their word, he stayed on the project until completed. They were extremely respectful of our home, carefully protected things and kept the work area clean. During demolition, they found some unforseen things, but took care of it without issue. There were times when they could've easily walked through our house to talk to us, but instead opted to ring the door bell to respect our space. The construction went smoothly and Tom would visit and communicate frequently. He took care of the inspections as well without issue and some other things without charging us, which I appreciated. At the end of the project, we had some concern about the slope of our deck above the office. Tom and his crew came out and fixed it and didn't even mention the final payment until we were happy. Our remodelled office looks amazing. I'd gladly recommend LB Construction for anyone looking for a contractor and will contact them again in the future.

Oscar was also very flexible with the timeframe of the project as I had to delay a couple times due to Covid. When the project finally began, it was full steam ahead. The project took about 5 weeks but we have a second bathroom so it wasn't as painful. Renovations aren't cheap in the first place so keep in mind you get what you pay for and we paid good $$ to get great work done. He is a busy man, so expect small delays but his work is top notch. Doting the project, Hector, his helper discovered that our toilet was broken and replaced it with a like new Toto toilet at no charge. On a separate note, my wife works from home and they were very respectful of that and did their best to keep the door to the bathroom closed so as to dampen the noise level. I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

Pros - The project manager, Billy, has strong supplier connections and was able to get DaVinci tiles at a good price and pass the savings on to us. He also secured competitive pricing for copper gutter guards. - He is technically savvy and very knowledgeable about all aspects of roofing. You feel like you are working with a true industry veteran. - He speaks excellent English and communicates clearly. - When we pointed out areas that needed improvement, he was accommodating and made corrections without pushback. - The estimate was reasonable for this type of project and closely matched typical pricing for similar work in the San Francisco Bay Area. A couple of the other companies we contacted were noticeably higher. - The crew was highly skilled and worked very efficiently. They nearly completed the entire roof in about five days. - The finished roof looks beautiful and the craftsmanship is excellent. - We were given some extra spare roof tiles for future repairs so we won't have to worry about matching issues. Cons - The project started later than expected. We were initially told November or December, but work did not begin until late January. We received only one day of notice before the crew arrived. - Not all potential extra costs were clearly quantified in advance. The contract noted possible added charges for plywood replacement, but we were not shown photos or told about dry rot until the final walkthrough, along with a 1,500 dollar extra charge. The copper gutter guard cost was also not disclosed until then. - The tile quantity was underestimated. The crew ran out of tiles, causing a delay while more were shipped from Kansas. We had to purchase an additional 400 square feet of tiles, increasing the total cost by about 3,500 dollars and extending the timeline. - At the walkthrough, there was no itemized invoice for the additional charges totaling about 10,000 dollars. We were told an itemized statement could be emailed later. It felt unusual to be asked to pay based only on verbal totals. - After the final walkthrough and payment, we were later told we still owed another 1,000 dollars due to a misquote on the extra tile cost. That change after payment did not feel very professional. Overall, although some parts of the process could have been handled better, we are very happy with the quality of the finished roof. We would still choose Moctezuma Roofing again and would recommend them based on the workmanship and final result.

I gave them a try and was not let down. I felt that they were really trustworthy and they use great materials. He has a depth of knowledge on what can cause water leaks and dry rot, and makes sure that work is done correctly from preventing any water leaks and water damage in the future. Our sales meeting with Tom Goldring convinced us that we made the right call. He was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. After listening to our request, he gave us a few options. Once we decided on a plan, everything began to fall into place. Tom's timeline, total cost, and outcome were spot-on. He was in constant contact with us - in person, or by text, letting us know what has happened that day, and what will be happening over the next few days. On one or two occasions, Tom's supervisor, Jacob Suissa, showed up to give some suggestions, and to review the progress. He was friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. When the crew showed up, everyone was efficient and professional. They were respectful of us and the neighbors, and always cleaned up each day. On the last day, they made sure the yard and surrounding area was clean and free of any debris or unused materials. It looked as though they had never been there. It seemed like, between Tom and Jacob, there was only one way to do the job......the right way. Although i don't remember them actually saying that, it seemed to be the theme of the whole job. Whenever we would tell Tom "thank you", his response was always "of course!" - with a smile. If and when we need any other work done, we will definitely call Ecostar, and cross our fingers that we have Tom as our guy again!

GMBC has several crews and I can only say that Jose and his team were consummate professionals who were friendly, polite, and took all COVID protocols seriously. They were respectful to each other and to us. They even put up with our puppy who busted through the plastic zippered door every single day to greet them. The work was on hold for a full year due to the pandemic. GMBC did not increase our contract (although we directly paid the increased cost of lumber and finish materials) and they did not pressure us to start before we were really comfortable doing so with the pandemic. Everyday my husband and I tell each other how much we love our house now. After 24 years, it is the home we've always wanted. I don't recommend waiting as long as we did- call GMBC and get it started!

I hired them more than three years ago and I paid for the full scope of work they recommended. My bedroom and closet have continued to leak every time it rains. I have given GMBC numerous attempts to fix the leak over the past 3 years, but the leaking persists. Two other companies have determined that GMBC did not do the work required to fix the leak and used improper materials. Moishe is the manager and refuses to resolve the issue. Horrible work. Horrible experience. Do Not Use them unless you just want to waste money!

Leo, the project manager, was especially helpful in the walk through and the estimate. He was very knowledgeable in what needed to be done. The project was completed in reasonable time and within budget. Through out the project, Leo was always on top of things.
