We contacted Scott at Deck Medic to sand and paint our existing redwood deck, along with some redwood stairs going up into the upper area of our backyard. Scott was a total pleasure to work with. He arrived on time and gave us a quote that we thought was very fair and reasonabally priced. Scott made sure that we were completely satisfied with the end result of the complteted job. We had a great experience with Deck Medic and we highly recommend them. read more

Scott refinished our deck and it looks phenomenal. He pressure washed it, sanded it, and stained it. His knowledge of the stains was really helpful. Great follow through and people compliment us on how good it looks. It was grey and splintering and now my little one can run barefoot on it. It makes me happy that I have extended the life of my deck and can enjoy it for years to come. read more

I had quotes from several companies, and they were all pretty close in price, I liked the 5 step process they had on their website. They told me it would be several weeks to get to me deck since the weather/rain had really backed them up. Aaron was very helpful in moving everything off the deck, having back surgery, couldn't do anything. He then did the first 4 steps of their process. We were then at the mercy of the weather gods, needing at least 2-3 days without rain. He and his partner were here today, finishing up by nailing anything that was loose and laying down two coast of stain. It looks great. read more

When l called Scott, he was booked solid for 6-8 weeks. We are so glad that we waited for him to add us to his schedule. Scott always responded promptly to texts, answered all our questions, and gave us helpful advice and a reasonable estimate for sanding and staining our deck. He showed up on time and got to work right away. Scott restored the original beauty of our 10-year-old, faded deck, so that it looks brand new. Couldn't be happier! read more

I contacted Scott with the Deck Medic to refinish my old, worn front and back decks. He responded quickly and professionally, with a very reasonable estimate and plan of action. He was friendly, knowledgeable, reliable, and the utmost professional -- from initial contact through job completion! I was very happy and impressed with his clear and timely communication, fair pricing, flexibility with scheduling, and most importantly -- the results. My decks look great. His work is meticulous, and he is easy to work with. I will use him again in the future, and hands-down recommend him to anyone looking for deck work! read more

Scott came out and refinished our deck. He worked on schedule, communicated clearly about what he was going to do and when, and did a great job. See the before/after photo attached. This deck is south facing and gets a lot of sun, so Scott recommended a solid or semi-transparent seal so that it would handle the elements a bit longer. We chose the solid color in the image. We were very happy with his work and would definitely recommend him to anyone else considering such a project. read more

Scott is a great guy. He worked on our old deck, and the result is amazing. Highly recommended.

Scott from Deck Medic is very personable and professional. Prior to our scheduled time, Scott fielded all of my questions promptly and clearly. He showed up on time and set to work right away. I needed to have the old, weathered, stain removed from my deck so that I could apply a fresh coat of a new color. He busted out the big sander and was able to make it look brand new again. His pricing is fair, he works quickly and even cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend Deck Medic and will use them in the future. read more

Scott just finished re-staining our 1300 square foot deck. He did a great job! I got three quotes from three businesses and Deck Medic was very reasonable. I checked all the references he provided and they were all positive. Scott did everything in the cool of the morning/evening, took his time to do the job right, he walked with me after he finished to make sure he didn't miss any spots, and was very meticulous overall and of course, experienced with doing decks. He also gave frequent updates and always showed up when he said he would. The deck took about a week to finish but we had rain and then super hot weather which delayed it a bit. Overall, very happy customers and would definitely recommend him to friends. (two of my neighbors have already asked Scott to do their decks ;-). read more

Scott Smith/Deck Medic was awesome. Got right back to me - timely, no surprises, great work. Sanded and stained a Trex deck for us that was too light and showed too much staining (no - trex is not really maintenance free). Deck looks great - we are very happy. read more

We have two decks that total about 900 sf of area that we built ourselves a couple of years ago. We would normally do the work ourselves but decided to check YELP and see if we could find someone for the job. We called Scott on a Sat morning, left a message and he called back and was at out house within 2 hours. It was perfect timing. My husband and I both liked what he had to show us and his pricing (including a YELP discount) and he started the next Monday. He finished today and the decks look fabulous! read more

If you care about awesome customer service and quality work, then you should definitely call Scott! After getting sent to voicemail from 2 other businesses, i was definitely impressed that Scott answered after the first ring! He is genuinely a really nice guy, who is passionate about what he does, and will not leave you anything but ASTONISHED at the end result of his work! We had a tired old deck at a rental property, and i figured the whole thing would have to be re-done... i was wrong! That is why he is the "Deck-Medic''!!! We were also on a time schedule to get this done promptly. He actually came out the SAME DAY to give us an estimate. He said it just needed a face-lift. I was expecting a huge expense, when in fact it ended up being very affordable! When Scott was done, I couldn't believe it was the same deck!!! This man does AMAZING WORK! I'm so glad the other companies didn't answer my call! Scott ROCKS!!! read more

I used another local deck medical professional a couple of years ago and then the Deck Medic a few months ago. The Deck Medic is Scott Smith and he did a fabulous job. Scott is very professional and easy to work with. He spent a lot of time recommending and helping me pick the right stain. He did not ask for a dime until I was happy with the job. He offered to come back and touch up at any time. In fact, he just stopped by last weekend to see if everything still looked good. Scott was very responsible about work hours and keeping me informed on the progress. Above all, his work is that of a craftsman. He stained many areas that the previous company did not, including the outside of vertical rails, vertical walls, planter boxes, etc. Scott does very high quality work and I recommend him highly. read more

From start to finish, we couldn't be happier with how our deck turned out. It was in dire need of sanding and stain. When Scott bid on the project, we gave no hesitation to wanting him to do the work. He allowed us the time we needed to make a decision on color and scheduled the work in a timely manner. He was a pleasure to work with and was very attentive to details. Upon completion, Scott gave us the time we needed to look it over to ensure we were happy with how it all turned out. The end product was a result of how he values his work. We would recommend the Deck Medic to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy deck expert. Thank you Scott, we've had many compliments on how great it looks! read more

I can't tell you how much I appreciated the expertise and integrity that the Deck Medic (Scott) presented to me regarding my deck. We Needed our deck done quickly for an upcoming event and he came to our house the same day we called to give us an estimate. I would NEVER use this individual under any circumstances. We agreed to have him do our 900sf deck. He apparently got a better opportunity as he pushed out our date 3 times in one day, insulted me and refused to answer when we questioned why, and insisted on speaking with my wife when he had poor cell coverage. He told us late in the day on Friday that despite our earlier agreement and our telling the other 2 folks we got bids from "no" that he would not do our deck at all. This is an unprofessional, rude, and unreliable individual with no personal integrity. We have another contractor on board now who has been responsive, timely, and who keeps his commitments. A far better choice than the "Deck Medic." read more

Scott just finished with two decks at our home. And as others have said , did a wonderful job. First came by to give us a quote for the decks. Then came by to check and see what colors would work- we too went with the opaque colors to add to the longevity. This was the first time i have paid someone to do our decks and it will not be the last. I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!! Let Scott do it; he is great. read more

I can't say enough good things about Scott's work. We had a fairly new deck that had been stained inappropriately, leaving us with bubbles in some places and discolorations in others. He was the first call we made, and he came by the same day to look at the job. He was very professional in assessing the previous job, never making any disparaging remarks about our previous crew, just made recommendations and discussed the advantages of different products and colors. His quote was extremely reasonable and we hired him for the job. He was fast, clean, and a perfectionist about his work. It has been 5 months now and our deck still looks beautiful! We recommend him highly and will certainly hire him again in the future. Thanks, Scott! read more

When we met Scott he was courteous and on time. We selected him over another company because our wood was old and the sanding would remove the pitting and ruts. The sanding turned out to be a very light "go-over" and left a lot of uneven surfaces. He also pressure washed, but after the staining we could see areas that still had green mold. We asked several times that he do in-between the deck boards and were assured they would be done, however, many areas were missed (see pictures.) Some areas were completely missed, only had one coat or had un-even coloration. They stained our balcony the wrong color and only realized it when we pointed it out. Several plants had stain on them from the spraying (they were supposed to be covered.) Scott was disorganized and jumped from area to area on our deck without any kind of sequential system. They rushed to finish this job as it was getting dark, so we were not able to walk around with him or point out any areas that might need going over. When we called and mentioned these concerns to him, he said in a not so courteous manner, "that as far as he was concerned the job was done." read more

The Deck Medic recently completed work on our very large (1600 sq ft) and old (22 yrs) deck which hadn't received regular maintenance for quite some time. The results have been amazing and both my wife and I never believed it could look this good again. From the first contact Scott was very easy to talk with and impressed me with his knowledge and experience. We set an appointment time for him to take a look and give us an estimate, for which he not only arrived on time for but also called us prior to his arrival to assure us he was on the way. Having been flaked on by other contractors in the past this was very reassuring. Upon inspection, Scott gave us different options and explained how they each would impact the look, the needed maintenance cycle and the reasonable life-expectancy of the protective finish. Upon starting the job, Scott did all the work himself and would not accept any payment in advance or during the job....not until the job was completed and we were able to inspect it and give it our blessings...which we were happy to do! We have already recommended Deck Medic to our neighbors and would whole-heartedly urge anyone needing to beautify their decks to give Scott a call. A true professional and craftsman! read more
