Always a fun time when I come here! Cannot stop dancing for even a moment. If you're lucky you'll get to meet Riaz, the bartender with the best energy I've ever seen. He works so fast while dancing and singing, gives you the sense that he really loves his job. He also put the extra effort in to dig out one of the few remaining black cherry white claws because I have a thing against mango. Only downside of our evening was how disgusting the bathrooms were when we arrived around 9:30. The first floor smelt awful when we walked up the stairs, but smell was less noticeable when we moved far away from the bathroom and the space filled up. Definitely cutting the staff some slack because I'm sure it can be hard to keep up with cleaning on a Saturday night over a holiday weekend when people have been drinking a lot throughout the day. read more

Do not come here. It's incredibly homophobic. That enough is not okay. Should be fun for everyone in the group and it clearly targets any non-straight people. Like most clubs they're focused on ratios, which already I'm not a fan of, but icing on the cake of why I wouldn't come back is they yelled at a male friend of ours in the VIP section for dancing on the pole in the area. They said it's "only for girls" and scolded our male friend for dancing/being goofy. Nowhere it says that and really shot down what was started out as a fun night. People just want to drink and be silly, let anyone have fun. TLDR: for anyone in the LGBT community, this is not a welcoming place. Look elsewhere. This is the most homophobic club I have ever went to. The first time I tried to get in I was denied because I was too drunk(which I was not, I had drank two beers prior). The second time I tried to get it it was because I showed 'a fake' and i showed my passport which is 100% real. I asked the bouncer his name and he would not give me name. To really make the most of Decades, you have to understand Decades. Decades is a great place to dance and I love being able to switch between different decades (really going from Mamma Mia to WAP is such a fun experience). The dance floor is great, the club isn't grimy at all, and you are able to get a very unique experience here. However, the one issue I have with Decades is the cost. Decades has a $20 cover fee which can be offputting, though they have flashback fridays which can help get free entry. Drinks there are also extremely expensive; a shot should not be $15. My best advice is to pre-game going to Decades and to avoid buying drinks there. If you do so, you will have a fun and non-financially draining time. read more

Decades is the place to be in DC!!! The first floor is called "Rewind by Decades" and serves food all night long and is open one hour after the club closes. If you take the Y2K stairs in Rewind it brings you up to a retro themed diner. This floor has a photo booth and does silent disco wooohoooo! There are 4 more floors if you go up the decades stairs & each floor has a different music theme: 180s & 90s 22000s 3Hip-Hop 4EDM on the rooftop. Interesting spot! They do serve food most of the night but I didn't see anything on the menu that stood out for me. The crowd it was pretty chill and each floor had okay music. I just realized I didn't take any pictures inside but if you are attempting to go up to the third floor, make sure you're ready because that is a climb LOL. I was so fortunate they had coat check but don't forget that it's actually on the second floor, so on your way up stop there first. Are open until 3 like most of the bars in the area. Accepting an invite for another CBC event & actually enjoyed myself. Promoted as a CBC Brunch, Whiskey & Cigars Rooftop Day Party, all the essentials were present. For most part of the day it was open seating to 1st come 1st serve until the switching over to the RSVP tables around 4P. I was impressed with the price point for their Bottle Service offering, even to make Mimosas. The brunch buffet wasn't a huge spread hence 'free', yet offered the basic meat, eggs. potatoes, vegetables & fruit. The kitchen may have been opened as well. The rooftop mirrors a full set up as if it was downstairs offering a full bar, DJ Booth, a TV that's located in the DJ Booth & perhaps 8 tables throughout. Awnings & heat lamps are visible for the cooler elements. The only negative for me was the 4 flights of stairs to get to & from the rooftop...in addition to the restroom (very well kept) that's located on the 3rd floor. I did see an elevator, yet not sure if it's for public usage. Perhaps due to being dubbed as a special event, the presence of various ages was a plus to see. High note of service from the Servers, Management & Security that shared in providing a safe, entertaining & sociable atmosphere. Currently waiting at a VIP table for my friend's birthday. We paid $1040 for 4 bottles of liquor and 4 bottles of champagne via an online reservation system. Upon arrival, we were told that we could choose $800 worth of alcohol... that amount would definitely not equal 4 bottles of liquor and 4 bottles of champagne. False advertising and blatant manipulation of a VIP customer on their birthday... After showing the email receipt for the transaction, we are still waiting for the severs to remedy this situation. This is a sad outcome for my friend's birthday. Update: After waiting for over an hour, we received the bottles that we paid for. Another 30 minutes later, the manager approached the birthday girl and apologized and offered complimentary champagne. Free champagne at 1 in the morning is not very useful, we already had more than enough alcohol because we had to wait over an hour to get it. The complimentary champagne did not end up coming and then servers slowly removed our bottles of mixers, not refilling them or bringing water. I know DC clubbing is no NYC/Miami/LA but this was a combination of manipulation, poor communication and poor service. Will not be getting bottle service at Echostage or Soundcheck because of this experience read more

I was physically assaulted by two women and then kicked out by security despite the fact that I did not start the fight nor did I retaliate. (I was walking through the crowded bar when a girl said "bitch better learn her manners" I don't think I even bumped into her but I turned and replied that I had said excuse me. Next thing I knew I was on ground.) I contacted Decades about the incident twice before I received a less than satisfactory response in which I was told I should've told security what happened. I did try telling them what happened and I was threatened with handcuffs. I then asked for a refund and they never responded. I've included screenshots of that conversation and pictures of my injuries for anyone who is interested in the full story. *Also when I told my coworker what happened, she said "I don't go there because I don't want to get roofied." **Decades has responded to a number of reviews to claim their security personnel is trained. Obviously they're not, because so many people have complained. On the night I was assaulted, a young couple consoled me outside. The woman told me security had looked once at her boyfriend, then told them to leave. For no reason. This place is disgusting and dangerous. read more

So glad I had a chance to come in this place and let loose. On a recent bar crawl through DC the club known as Decades was one of the stops. Like many of the bars/clubs in DC this place offered multiple floors and a rooftop area in case you want to get away from the music or take a break from the non stop music. And the music selection is good. The name Decades fits this place as it labels itself as a retro club. Now what does that entail? The first thing you notice when walking in is that this place is decorated with the music and artists of the 90's and some early 2000's. So if you were into watching BET (Rap City, Video Vibrations, my favorite Uncut) or MTV (when it played videos) then this place will bring back memories. It is a definite nostalgia place playing the hits from that time period. This club is located closest to the Dupont Circle metro stop with the Farragut North stop slightly further. No matter which stop you choose if you choose to go that route it is a simple and quick walk. My opinion and review might be skewed due to the fact I did attend this place during a bar crawl where drinks were reduced that added to the good time. I would think that during a bar crawl I would be limited to certain drinks or they would be watered down. Not the case here as a discount was offered on all drinks and they were made just as well as the full price drinks from what I saw. In the end this was a good spot to relax in and have some fun while reminiscing to the music that will bring back memories. Be those memories good or bad it is a fun spot to check out. read more

This bar is fun at first, and then you get your phone stolen. I went with 5 of my friends and 3 of us got our phones stolen from our purses or pockets ON OUR BODIES. I talked to four other people the same night who also got there's stolen. If you look on google you can see that many people have gotten theirs stolen there too. There is a bounty of staff all around seemingly doing nothing other than being friendly. The manager is rude, unhelpful, and aggressive, particularly when you ask for help with your lost phone. I believe that this bar mostly likely has some sort of side hustle stealing and selling peoples phones due to the sheer amount of phones that have been stolen there and their dismissiveness when you tell them. Be wary going here if you own a phone, because apparently a sealed purse on your body isn't secure enough. read more

My experience at decades was fantastic. Great service in VIP. Our bottle girl- I believe her name was Yezzy, not only delivered great service to our large party, but was very helpful & welcoming. She ultimately made me and my friends night out more enjoyable. In other clubs, I've Experience unfair treatment from bottle girls who seem to cater to men more than the women. A $20 cover was a bit too much for what this club had to offer. I liked that there were multiple floors playing music from different eras, but a lot of the song choices were pretty stale and boring. Decades DC was PRETTY good. Lots of people, diverse and young crowd, efficient staff. $20 cover and they accept card for it. They have a staff member running two iPads with card readers at once. The drinks were not stellar. We had these green tea shots in these tiny plastic glasses that were visually unappealing and we had these very bad gin and tonics that were not very strong. And it was all EXPENSIVE which made it worse. HOWEVER the atmosphere is great. It's mostly clean, has a quieter first floor for talking, then each floor above is fun for dancing to different eras or even genres of music. I would definitely come here again for dancing ... and probably pregame a bit harder beforehand. read more

The first night I came here and ordered 2 bottles of wine. On the menu said $29/ bottle So that why I ordered a bottle of wine. And then charge me $88.00 that's mean $40/ bottle So I just got charge total$102.40. And I'm so nice giving more tips even charge me including with gratuity So second night I came here again and order the same wine bottle so the price was $29. This place opened up a short while ago. Decided to check it out as I was intrigued by the idea of different decades on 3 different floors. So, Rewind Saturday seemed to be all 90s music (no problem with that!) with different genres on each floor. Top floor was rap/hip hop with an amazing sound system. The bass had everything vibrating... teeth, gut, the bar, the drink in my glass. Well done! The Kid n Play movie they had playing on the flat screens was a laugh too. The second floor was more 90s dance music. It's a bit darker in here but a bit roomier. They have a pool table and a few arcade games over by the windows. Great lighting and sound system on this floor also. A lot of the bottle service tables are on this floor. Fun crowd. The bottom floor was a bit brighter than the other two floors. Still on 90s music but it was just a bit quieter so you could talk with people without having to shout. Nice touch. It's handy to be able to move to a quieter (relatively) place if you want to chat with someone you've met. The staff was fun and helpful. The only thing I would mention is that the majority would ask if you want top shelf, rail, etc liquor. Some would just give you the top shelf without asking. So if you have a preference, make it known! I'll be back. This place is good for a fun night. Also, last but not least, they have a coat check so you don't have to freeze to death waiting in line. read more

All of the floors weren't open, which was disappointing. We only had access to the top floor and roof top. Drinks were very expensive. Got a Red Bull vodka and it was close to $16. Bartenders were very attentive though and didn't need to be flagged down to get drink orders. read more

Very mediocre at best. I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 3 because the GM, Jason, is very nice and accommodating. This has become the spot to be if you head out to DC for the weekend. The problem with that is it attracts some seriously intoxicated people. Here's my story. I had a table with some friends on the top floor which ended up being fallen on..literally fallen on..by a very, very drunk girl. The cranberry juice and orange juice went flying and stained my brand new white dress. The seats were soaked and sticky. Rather than moving us to a different table(their were plenty empty tables), they attempted to clean up the area and flip the cushions. They also did not kick out said chick. They just told her to go to another floor. I was pretty annoyed by this, as I feel anyone would be, so we ditched our table and went to the 3rd floor. Just as an FYI, they only play house music on the 4th floor on Saturday's. I am not a fan of House music so if you aren't either, I would recommend the 3rd floor which plays hip hop and a mix of other music. At the end of the night, I remembered I had given the front entrance guy my ID and credit card per policy so I was let back in to retrieve these. The bartenders and servers working on the 4th floor were extremely rude. They said "we don't have your cards, why would you give someone your ID anyway? You're just drunk, you need to leave". I was PERFECTLY fine. It wasn't until I mentioned the manager's name stating I was just following protocol that they were like "Oh you had a table? Let me call so and so". I definitely didn't appreciate this. I know they must deal with a TON of drunk people on a daily basis which is why I didn't dock any stars for an individuals bad customer service in this case. I would recommend Decade's to anyone looking to have fun at a busy venue. The roof top is great during the summer just wish they played a variety of music. read more

Went for a celebration and was kicked out because someone threw up in a cup but a white girl threw up and wasn't kicked out. People spilled drinks on us and they weren't cleaned up or kicked out. However we got kicked out. Explained the occasion to the manager, and asked for drinks to be taken away to to give us more water. Told him the white girls threw up, but we were called a hazard. Definitely racism at play since we giot kicked out but the white promoter girls got to party even as the table next to us tried to come to our defense. From being a club goer in New York I know a crowd of promoters and young girls vs organic ppl going clubbing. Why? Because I am a promoter girl on the weekends. This place is a hit because of promotion and previous years of service but times have changed. Music is subpar, they mix a lot of hits but only play 1/5 of a song (like just the hook) and then switch. The manager isn't a that great from my experiance with him and the amount of time it took to reserve a table. He is aware floor boards are uneven which can cuz slippage and doesn't employ ppl to clean drinks. I kno because staff told me they dont. He doesn't honor VIp tables and party size. Had people in our section at the rooftop, and let other vips go over the section limit. Completely see why people no longer say to go to decades. And I won't be returning. Guess nyc is the only place to party. Also try spots along u street for a vibe. That's where I'm headed to next because the crowds seemed organic, menus looked decent, and music seemed nice. read more

Decades is one of the best clubs, if not the best in DC. It's very rare that I don't have a good time here. The staff is very cool yet mean business with crowd control. That's warranted when dealing with drunk, irrational and entitled people. The crowd varies from time to time. May be a social thing with DC. However when I'm there, it's a couple of regulars (guy with the locs and few others) to greet me and ensure I have a good time. One thing, I have noticed recently is the 90's floor being renovated and replaced. BRING BACK THE 80's & 90's!! That was the great sing along & true dance floor. A few of the DJs are very good mixing tracks I haven't heard in a long time. It's refreshing to go out and not hear the same ole unenthusiastic songs as every other club. This place takes you back to days in which you actually had to dance. An actual dance club! Now the bad: The floor after Rewind has a nasty smell sometimes. At least I can say the floor cleaning staff is on the job to clean up spills. The bartenders are pretty cool. Drinks are expensive so you have to choose carefully. I'm not a fan of smoke so I avoid the top floor. Problem solved. Not a fan of current rap so I avoid that floor. Another problem solved. I don't have many complaints. On Friday, February 14, friends and I purchased a table at Decades on the 90s floor. Another guest and I wanted to go to the ladies' room and were escorted up a flight of stairs to the rooftop restroom. As we headed down the same flight of stairs we used to get to the restroom, a bouncer asked the other guest and me for our IDs. The bouncer took my ID and walked away without so much as a word. I followed and asked what was going on, but the bouncer ignored me and kept walking. When we reached the first level, the bouncer walked outside and handed my ID to the front door bouncer and went back inside. At this point, I still did not know what was happening nor why I was standing outside without my scarf and coat in minus 30-degree weather. I never did get my scarf back... I explained what happened to the front door attendant, who assured me he would look into the matter. He went inside and a short while later came back and said I was not allowed back into the club because I was "swinging on the bouncer." At no time in my life have I ever swung on a 6-foot beefy man or any man for that matter. The club assured me they would review their video footage. It never happened, or if it did, they refused to tell me what the video showed. If they reviewed the video, they would have seen me following the bouncer and asking what was going on. We had spent hundreds of dollars on the table and drinks, only to be thrown out after an hour. I feel this was an excuse to get rid of the black folks in the club. If they didn't want us there, they never should have taken our money. I say skip this place and just try one of the other 20 bars in DuPont instead. read more
