In several places, he stated that certain elements were "not up to code"--but failed to cite any specific code or regulation. This kind of language is not only misleading, it's irresponsible and unhelpful. If you're going to make a claim that something violates building code, it's basic professionalism to include the actual reference. The water heater didn't even work, yet somehow the inspector missed it--so I spent my first three weeks bonding with cold showers. The warranty company wouldn't cover it since the issue existed before I moved in. On top of that, I had to replace both toilets right away. Somehow they missed that too.
