Three weeks ago, I had a full eye examination with Dr. Wise, an ophthalmologist (MD) in Florida. Since I have worn glasses since high school, all I needed at this visit was a new prescription after losing my glasses. Last year, I also had a full exam at LensCrafters in Aventura, where the front desk clearly explained all costs and insurance coverage before my appointment. That visit was handled transparently and professionally. At MyEyeDr, however, the front desk did not explain what my insurance would or would not cover. During my appointment, a technician took retinal images without informing me that this would result in a $44 charge. I should have been told in advance and given the choice to decline. In addition, I was charged $140 for a contact lens fitting that was never discussed with me beforehand. The optometrist attempted multifocal lenses, which did not work for me. I was the one who had to suggest the lens setup I normally use (one lens for distance), and only then did he agree it would work. This left me feeling the fitting was unnecessary and not worth the fee. At checkout, I was presented with a bill of $640 that included these undisclosed charges. I was not prepared for such an amount and chose not to proceed with the purchase. The interaction with the sales associate afterward was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because I was not informed of these additional services or fees beforehand, I am requesting a refund of the $44 retinal image fee and the $140 contact lens fitting fee. I believe this is a fair resolution given the lack of transparency and communication at my appointment. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. They may have a great walk-in mall shop (I have no idea), but AVOID ONLINE ORDERS with Next Level Optical - they are amateurs. The exam I had was extremely thorough! Raquel is passionate about eye care. I learned a lot! Raquel does a lot of the "prep" work and testing and then uploads the information into a portal. Then she sets up a Zoom with an eye doctor from 20/20 Now to review the results. Everything is very high tech and as stated before, very thorough. You get the opinion of, and information from, two eye care professionals. I was very happy with the level of service here and I will definitely come back for future eye exams. Unfortunately, my earlier comment about the cost of the glasses and contacts still stands. It's just too pricey to order from the store. Again, I hate to be "that" person but I can't justify paying $50 more per box of contacts and double the cost for the lenses.

There was an abundant variety of choices and I even got sunglasses that were custom made after working hours And to top all of that Raquel her self delivered everything to my hotel around 10 pm she had worked on the 3 pairs hand delivered them with so much care. Dr Teri Rose was a poor listener, did not take the time to understand what I was requesting. When I had difficulty with the glasses, she replied with what felt like an accusation that I had elective surgery to have mono-vision. I reminded her that I had a hereditary eye disease and that this had not been elective surgery. My new optometrist informed me that the driving glasses they prescribed should never have been selected for mono-vision. When I request a refund, Gould Vision never returned my call. If I had to guess, I'd say that Dr Rose hates her job, dislikes working with people, and regrets her career choice.
