    Steak and chips

Was at deanes on Saturday night for a friends 30th. I had called and made the reservation for the table well in advance and the staff were extremely helpful in organising a large party. They emailed across the menu. I was incredibly impressed with the service and attentiveness of our waiter Chris. The meal its self was amazing. I had the goats cheese starter followed by steak and chips as a main and some yummy chocolate raspberry dessert that I can't remember the name off. This was all £30. Can't even thing of anywhere else in Belfast that you would get this quality of food and service for this price. Would defiantly go back

Barking Dog Restaurant - beef shin burger is definitely not your average burger

I've had my fair share of memorable burgers from coast to coast in America, but just glancing at a picture of the beef shin burger transports me back across the pond to the Barking Dog. I remember the few days I spent in Belfast fondly and of the many memories, my meal at the Barking Dog was a definite highlight. In a rather quaint and charming neighborhood, I took a nice short stroll from my Airbnb and came across this gem of an establishment and decided I had to check it out. I had a nice beer to start, and it wasn't a Guinness because stouts aren't my thing, but whatever it was I remember it being excellent and local. Undoubtedly you could make this place a regular haunt and there is no shortage of drinks and food options to make this a go-to for a date, celebration, or a quick meal. The staff are welcoming, kind, and helpful and the general atmosphere is chill. The food for me was ethereal - a burger isn't just a burger here and what you get when you bite into the beef shin burger is a little slice of Heaven. Moist and tender are a given but the taste is just so divine with the caramelized onion, cheddar, and horseradish mayo melding into an union of perfection. It's hard not to describe one of the most memorable meals of my life in such hyperbole but the vivid recall I have of this particular place is uncanny and merits all the praise I can heap upon the fine folks that run the place. If timing had worked out, I would have eaten as meals here as I could have but I'll thank my lucky stars for at least giving me one opportunity to eat such a wonderful burger at such a wonderful eatery. A+ and a definite must when visiting Belfast.

Brennan's was nearby and the vibes felt right as soon as we walked in. Nice and dark inside but cheery vibes and lots of locals catching up and talking. We grabbed a table to sit and were greeted quickly by a gal who provided us with food and drink menus. The service was stellar throughout our stay. We were allowed to ourselves and not bothered but also good hospitality as the food came out quick and the drinks were always offered a refill. The bartender was friendly and lovely as well. You can't go wrong with an ice cold Bulmers on ice. The perfect cider in my opinion. Cheaper then the rest too so quite a steal. Ordered the fish and chips, they were brilliant to be honest. Great crunchy batter and the fish portion was super generous. A great value but even more so delicious and quality! The chips were tasty and the pushy peas were classically good. Loved that they were proactive to provide all the sauces of your liking at the table, HP sauce, Mayo, vinegar etc. Really a fantastic spot for a drink, food, good music playing but not too loud that you can have a nice chat with a friend. Will definitely be back on my next stop to Belfast.

Unfortunately, our dining experience wasn't the best. There wasn't a single clean table available, and we were told to leave and come back later. Once we were seated, the service remained slow, which seemed to be a result of how busy the restaurant was. The food was decent but nothing particularly memorable. On the plus side, the prices were reasonable. The kitchen is unable to substitute items or make alterations to your order. Everything must come as is... Overall, it's probably a fun place for drinks and sports. I wouldn't recommend eating here.
