Dean Whiting helped me today with two root canals. One retreat. Since I have a major issues with local meds he decided to bring in an Anesthesiologist. Dr Khan was the first person I ran into! Who was super friendly! The girls at the reception desk are also sooo kind and called me ahead of time to make sure I knew the cost. Great communication all around. Dr Whiting came out and introduced himself and answered my questions. Dr Khan put me to sleep within 2 mins and then Dr Whiting did the work while Dr. Khan Babysat me. He also reassured me about everything and told me what to expect. He also contacted me a few times to make sure I knew exactly what to do as far as eating and drinks. I've never been put under and have already been kicked out of another dentist office due to a result of medication that was given. So I was very uneasy. This was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend this team! I will be forever grateful to this team and office! Also shout out to Dr Setlock! Had a wonderful experience at this office! Was sent here by my general dentist for tooth pain. When I was seen (same day!!) Doctor gave me all of my options, respected my wishes to not put my tooth in further pain, and he quickly and kindly did my root canal! It's been 24 hours and the healing process is going great. Of course it's not the most comfortable thing to have done, but 10/10 I appreciate this doctor and his sweet assistant/office staff. All kind and understanding. This was the second time I have been required to access Dr. Whiting's expertise. Once again I required an emergency root canal. I was again scheduled (immediately) by a caring and highly effective staff. Dr. Whiting was careful to insure the (long) procedure was pain free. He also made sure I was constantly appraised of how the procedure was proceeding. After the procedure (approximately 5 days) I experienced some jaw pain. Dr. Whiting immediately proscribed a regimen of medication which relieved the problem. In conclusion, should you require dental attention, I could not recommend a better, more caring doctor and staff. read more

My general dentist referred me to Dr Whiting for a root canal. Yikes! I have had some bad (painful) dental experiences throughout my life and was very nervous about this procedure. I had no need to be nervous! Dr Whiting and his staff were caring, informative and efficient. Dr Whiting listened to my concerns and thoroughly explained the process before starting the procedure. I had NO PAIN during the procedure . I had the root canal yesterday and since my Novocain wore off I have had minimal discomfort, which I have controlled with ibuprofen. I am a very nervous dental patient. I had a very bad dentist while growing up and struggle to get over the fear he planted deep in my being. Dr Whiting and his staff did a great job getting me to relax, were able the numb me for my procedure with very little discomfort and explained everything as they went trough the process of completing my root canal. I felt no discomfort at all. Woke up this morning with a little pain, but after some Tylenol I feel great! No swelling! This was my first time receiving service and from the moment I walked into the door until I said my goodbyes the experience was amazing. Dr. Whiting was very professional and attentive. He explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. He was very proficient and just KIND, and you know kindness is hard to find in the AZ. Hate dentists. No nicer way to put it. I had an appointment with Dr Whiting and while I anticipated a dreadful experience... not the case. Dr Whiting was kind, patient and extremely professional. His staff was pleasant and clearly enjoyed working with him. We got all the way through a root canal without me running from the room screaming or breaking down in tears. He stopped when I needed him to and coached me all the way through. Even after the procedure, Dr Whiting called to see how I was recovering, making sure I was on the mend and without pain or infection. I was recommended by my dentist when my tooth pain came in after a temporary crown. The pain was intense and they fit me in THE DAY OF which is basically unheard of in this world. I am an old-er X dental assistant. I have had quite a struggle to keep my teeth all my life, starting with a fabulous Grandpa who taught me and the neighborhood kids how to count, at the corner store, by giving us each $.50 to get 50 pieces of penny candy! I had a root canal that had hurt slightly since I got it done 5 years ago. It suddenly BLEW, and I mean blew. My whole face, ear, eye, throat, lymph nodes were soooooo swollen and painful I could not take it. After 7 days of antibiotics, Dr. Whiting found a 4th root on a molar that bifurcated into a 5th root tip. A normal molar has 3... I have NEVER been to such a professional and BRILLIANT dentist in my life... and I worked for 6 of them, in my past. I will be referring everyone I know who gets into REAL trouble with a tooth infection. His entire staff, front to chair side are just good, kind and loving people.
