This office has ample seating and a small refrigerator filled with water bottles for convenience. Per my recent visit with Dr Michael Thompson, his demeanor was calm and his bedside manner was stellar!! I was told by another dentist at another location that I would need a root canal - Instead I opted to get a second opinion on my own at Litchfield Endodontics with Dr Michael and he stated I did not need one and opted to fix my cracked tooth instead. The technology of their 3-D scanner made my visit efficient and smooth. I felt like I was in and out quickly. The staff at this office are kind and really made me feel comfortable. Again, after my consultation, I was waiting for the office staff to come speak with me about the cost of cleaning. Yes, I have to go back a second time to complete the cleaning, which is frustrating and inconvenient, but it could be worse. Yes, I was asked to put a deposit down for the cleaning, but I am sure this is because many people do not follow through. Again, it might be a minor inconvenience, but knowing I have the appointment is worth it, and they know I will be there. Great location easy to get in and out of the complex. After contacting my insurance directly, I was able to confirm that checks had already been issued, received, and cashed by the office. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the process turned into months of back-and-forth where I had to repeatedly prove that I was being overcharged. During this time, I was treated rudely, and the office manager, Celina, even made an inappropriate and offensive comment implying I had a mental learning disability. Eventually, after all the evidence was presented multiple times, they corrected the overcharge--but by then the damage was done. My implant was left incomplete, and I now have to go to another dentist to finish the work. This entire experience was stressful, frustrating, and completely avoidable. Numerous patients described unexpected charges, insurance verification issues, difficulties obtaining documentation, poor communication, inconsistent billing information, lack of follow-up, and feeling left without clear answers. Reading those reviews made me realize that my concerns regarding financial transparency and documentation may not be as isolated as I initially hoped. For that reason, I believe it is important for prospective patients to do their research before committing to treatment. Read the reviews carefully. Ask questions. Request copies of your financial estimate, treatment plan, insurance verification, and any documentation supporting your financial responsibility before authorizing treatment. I also continue to await the documentation I requested regarding my own account. If the office remains unwilling or unable to provide the records necessary to explain how my additional balance was determined, I will be filing formal complaints with the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners and requesting that my insurance carrier review the insurance verification and billing process associated with my treatment.
