Visited here for the first time today around 2pm. We had a 30 min wait which wasn't too bad. Madison K. was our server. She was very attentive and polite and took good care of us. The atmosphere is very casual. They have a nice large area for dining. If you'll notice when walking through the restaurant, the walls are written all over giving the place a unique vibe. For an appetizer we ordered the fried pickles which were tasty. For our meal we ordered the shrimp basket with mac n cheese and fried okra and the regular ribeye with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything we ordered was delicious! Probably only negative is the Texas toast is cooked on the light side but that's more of a preference thing. There are outside activities as well as a coffee shop but nothing was really open probably due to it being January. Would love to come back during the spring and/or summer. We went to this restaurant last night for dinner we really enjoyed it! Our waitress was very attentive. I had the chicken fajitas, They were piping hot and I had plenty of fixings to accompany them. We had the salad bar which was a very fresh and clean. My husband vegetative and beans he said his steak was excellent and very tender. We tried this song which was Friday screen it was in a fried tortilla vanilla ice cream with a cinnamon topping we shared it had plenty and it was very good. Once again I have to say waitresses always we're very attentive to everyone's table! Some hits but mostly misses on our first visit to Deadwood. My wife's steak had good flavor and was cooked correctly, but she felt it odd that their primary steak is just ribeye with the only other option being the huge Tomahawk. She also said her potato was very good and creamy, but the fried corn had almost zero flavor. She was able to get a piece of the grilled corn to replace it, which was better. I got chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The sides were good but the chicken was a bland, frozen food service patty and not hand breaded/freshly made, surprisingly. Side of toast was lightly grilled but unbuttered which was odd and a miss. My son did enjoy the salad bar. Overall a mid-grade visit and nothing worth making a special trip for. read more

We've gone twice and really enjoyed it both times! It's a fun and quirky place to wander around. They do a great job with the decor and are always improving areas. My son loves the playground. It's hard to find truly kid fun and friendly places and this place is great. It's quite a drive but it worth it. Get the ribs! Seriously, just get them. The meat falls off the bone and they're packed with flavor. They're also HUGE. Puts chili's to shame. I haven't ordered ribs in probably 15 years because I'm always disappointed. We have visited this establishment quite a few times over the last few years and it was good. The last time we went it was not good at all. My daughter's visited town for Mother's Day today and wanted to take me here to eat, I didn't want to switch their plans so we went ahead and went. We were told a 30 min wait, after 45 mins we checked again.. another 30 minutes. Food came out cold. Heavy set lady in the floral dress was rude. Mashed potatoes are instant potatoes. "Peppered gravy is not... It is bland chicken gravy." Had to ask for butter and sour cream. Had to ask for refills. Half of the "attractions" that they advertise are not in order, not working. Traveling back home after a week at the outer banks and found this unique restaurant and entertainment spot for children(Only in your state app). The owners are very involved as a matter of fact we spent about 20 min talking with the owner on how he started and developed the complex. Great guy and a retired Navy Vet!! Food was great - atmosphere entertaining. The "rides" for children are being renovated and not available right now but they hope to have it done by summer. Refreshing to see the love this family has for their business and investing back into the property. Will definitely be back when traveling through this area. read more

Quite a bit pricy, but not out of the ordinary for a restaurant inside a local attraction, the whole property is sort of a western themed attraction with rides and games for the family. Their onion blossom is decent, in fact I've ordered it to take home a few times, I ate in the restaurant once but as I said it's a bit on the pricier side. food was incredible. Only downside is it's constantly busy as each time I've been there there is as much of a line to get in as there is at the register for people to leave or pick up carryout. read more

What a fun place for a family. We had dinner here and it was excellent. We had appetizers and shared around the table with a party of 11. The food comes out very fresh and hot. I loved the bloomin onion. I had a ribeye which was tender and delicious. Everyone in my Party was satisfied with the food. My kids road the dinosaur roller coaster and loved it. Our entire family Took the train ride through the grounds and it was exciting for our whole clan. It only cost $3 for tickets. It's a very fun place to walk around and look at the decorations. I love the steak at this place and will continue to go BUT at my recent trip I was very disappointed to see that not a single person in the entire place was wearing a mask despite the Governor's executive order. There was a sign at the door that said that if you were not wearing a mask we trust you have a reason and staff are not wearing a mask because they have a reason. I find it very hard to believe that ALL the staff have a condition as 90% or more are young people so their only reason is they did not want to and management did not care. I mentioned to the hostess about masks and she said it is not the law and kept on walking. On the marquee at the road they had a picture of Gov Cooper and a reference to him being an idiot. I believe in free speech so the owner has a right to put up what he chooses but as a customer and steady patron of Deadwood I was disappointed to have to experience political messaging while I am trying to enjoy myself with a good meal. There is so much of that crap everywhere else it would have been nice to at least go to a place I love without having to face that kind of stuff. I come from a NC county that is fourth in the state for Covid 19 cases and I wore my mask to be considerate and respectful of others in the restaurant, customers, staff and even the owner as he was at the table close to me! read more

We did not know about this place until the desk clerk at the hotel old us about it. It was not what we were expecting. It was extremely enjoyable and the food was outstanding. The atmosphere was terrific and the service was stellar. We counted no less than 4 times that the manager made rounds through the dining room while we were there. I've been to Deadwood before several years ago to see the play. I went this time to take the Grandkids. The train, putt putt and roller coaster all cost $3 per ride/game per child. That gets pricey pretty quickly! The play has not been performed since at least October 2017, we were told by an employee. Then it shouldn't still be promoted on the website. My ribeye was cold. One child's pork chop had a "strange" taste to it she said. I tried it. It did have a "strange taste". The other child's shrimp were more batter than shrimp. All in All I was very dissatisfied, especially with the food. I don't plan on returning. read more

"Very interesting" aren't the words to describe this place. First off, don't let the Google search engine and their website fool you. It's classified as a theme park, but is far from that. We came on a Saturday afternoon about 5 o'clock. We walked up and there were no employees in sight. They only had the hours posted at the front. You would figure if it was a "theme park" there would be a admission fee. Oh no, not here. As we walked in further we saw about five adults gathered around a bonfire socializing and smoking cigarettes. No children were in sight. As you walk to the right there's a roller coaster and carousel. The carousel had caution taped wrapped around it. The roller coaster was roped off and had no operation. Why would a "theme park" have a roller coaster or carousel not in operation? Also, it was quite unattractive to have several ash trays available in public eye on tables. This place is advertised as a "theme park" but in reality is a adult swim playground out in boonies. read more

I live in Bear Grass about a mile or so away, as the crow flies. Back when they had live entertainment, I could sit on my back deck and listen to the music, and sometimes the train whistle when it blows. If the wind is blowing just right, I can smell the food. I must say, it smells WONDERFUL. The wife and I often order food for take out, that way we don't have to dress up. nor do we have to dress the grandkid(s) which ever one or so, gets lucky enough to be spending the night. I will say this though, that food, it tastes just as good as it smells. We do, on occasion, dress up and go out there to eat with friends and/or family. While there, and after we have totally filled our bellies, will walk around outside, hop on the train and take a leisurely stroll though the little forest they have set up. Sights one may see, depend on the season. On Halloween, for instance you may see a skeleton, ghost, haunted house,or even a 20 ft monster. Around Christmas you may see reindeer, a Christmas house, and possible ole Saint Nick. Can't promise any or all of it, but rumors abound. Another things the kids like to see, is the fish in the pond. At one time they fed them food from a dispenser which you let go into plastic pipes along the walkway, and if you looked hard enough, you might see a pretty good sized koy fish or two. After all the excitement, you can get a cup of coffee or ice cream and go stand around 1 of the few campfires burning. There is a roller coaster there but I have yet to ride it, I am not sure if adults my size can fit in the cars or not. If you are in the area, and have a big appetite, or little one even, kids meals are available, stop by and get it taken care of. If you happen to see an old guy hanging out by the cash register, don't worry, he's not robbing the joint, I'm just waiting for our order to take back home to get our grub on! We would always patronize this establishment when I came to see family in NC from OH. Well, the last trip we made in January really opened our eyes wide. No social distancing, mask wearing, nothing. It is disgusting when there are health orders in place and an establishment cannot follow the rules, the consumers do, but owners and workers of this establishment must think they are above and beyond the almighty in the sky and rule the roost. Also, who ever heard of a restaurant charging you for a glass of water with a lemon?? Best off, to top things off, we also lost $40 in cash in this establishment and were told they would go through video coverage and contact us, not a word! When we realized the cash was mistakenly put on one of the plates to go to the kitchen and tried to get it back, they ran even faster and then denied anything happened. Steer clear of this place, we are in touch with the health department and filing a complaint with the county in which they reside and hopefully something will be done. If not, we will go to the state level and get them closed and fined. This is what is done in OH, and hope they follow the same guidelines in NC. read more
