I'd been wanting my second tattoo for years but had been told by others that the portrait I wanted would be too complex for the size I wanted it to be on my arm. On a trip to Kenosha, my hometown, I decided to stop here on a whim and see if they said the same thing. I was referred to Joey, a portrait artist, who immediately waved away any concerns I had and assured me that the image I wanted would be no problem at all. In fact, during this walk-in consultation, he went straight into suggesting how he would go about shading the image and where he would put various highlights to bring the piece to life. He gave me his card and I set up an appointment a few weeks ago. The process was direct, simple, and convenient. I was able to make a deposit to Dead Set Ink and explain what I wanted in detail. Soon Joey contacted me to confirm exactly what I wanted and exchanged a few more messages about those details as my appointment neared. He expressed his excitement about the design and kept me informed about how and when we could go about the process. Once the appointment arrived Joey was able to complete the piece in roughly 3 1/2 hours and at no point did I feel awkward, uncomfortable, or in pain. He even came prepared by readying up the film that my tattoo was in reference to so it could play in the background while we chatted and he worked. If that thoughtful gesture wasn't already a solid reassurance that I was in good hands, the various samples of incredibly detailed portrait work hanging on his walls would have convinced me as well. I don't know when my next tattoo will be but I can only hope that whenever it is, Joey will be there to apply it for me. This guy is incredibly friendly, receptive, polite, considerate, knowledgeable, down to Earth, and talented. The few others I happened to meet during my experience seemed like cool people as well. I'm thrilled to say that getting my tattoo at Dead Set Ink was a 100 percent positive experience with absolutely zero complaints. Should I get more work done I will come here again with absolutely no hesitation. read more

Only amazing experiences at Dead Set Ink. The art I have from Glenn would have to be my absolute favorite. He's also so kind and the whole shop is very professional, clean, and .. beautiful. I spontaneously got a beautiful thigh piece and had always been nervous about that. I was very comfortable there and the whole staff made it that way. From the moment I walked into this shop everyone made me feel at home in this great environment, I looked through all the artists artwork and have gotten a few tattoos from multiple of the artists here and I have to say these are the best of the best. I highly reccomend this shop. I had a great experience from beginning to end. Everyone is very professional and inviting. Great music and tv playing while you get some ink. Very talented artists who make the experience as comfortable as they can while inflicting a little pain. Lol. Glenn did my tattoo. I had contacted the shop by using the email they have provided on their website. Quick response , flexible with the scheduled time I wanted. Peach had did my nipple piercings. VERY professional , explained everything well , not once did I feel uncomfortable. Felt relaxed and calm when getting pierced. Highly recommend him for piercings, I do plan on going back. Peach was insanely professional when doing my Bridge piercing! He was clean, the shop was clean and the staff was so friendly and inviting, this dude is good at what he does and it shows through his work, i drove an hour to get pierced by him and it was well worth the drive! I have gotten 3 piercings from Peach in the past few months and recommend him to everyone. The new location is clean (I work in nursing so that's huge) and beautiful.
