Kenosha Tattoo is an amazing shop, I trust all my tattoos with them. The artists are top notch.

I received a memorial tattoo in honor of my father. I had them use his ashes in the ink which they had no problem with. This actually was the only tattoo shop that allowed ashes in the ink. Hailey did the most amazing beautiful job honoring my father. She took the time to listen and then did excatly what I wanted. It is a beautiful tattoo and has brought me much need peace and comfort. Thank you again Hailey!!

Kenosha tattoo is the primo tattoo place on Kenosha. Jon is great and I wouldn't hesitate to entrust my virgin epidermis with him.

Let me start out by saying that I am not a Yelper but after my experience here, I just had to leave…read morea review. I WILL NEVER GET PIERCED ANYWHERE ELSE EVER AGAIN!!! I had read that getting your Daith pierced (one of the nubby little bits of cartilidge inside your ear) helps with migraines, something about a pressure point in that area. I do suffer from migraines and will try anything too relieve them. So I started calling around to shops in Kenosha to find out prices/more info. Unfortunately noone I called could help me out, and a few of them actually seemed annoyed by my questions. I should have known that anybody charging $20 a piercing probably isn't exactly reputable. I've had plenty of piercings in my life and haven't paid less than $50 for any of them. Hell, I used to look like I got into a fight with a tackle box. Finally called Black Pearl (should have called them first) and ended up taking to Shawn (hope I spelled that right). We talked for a good ten minutes and he told me to stop in so he could take a look and see if it could even be done because I guess some peoples are just way too small to do. 15 minutes later I was in the shop, he checked my ear, gave me the green light and I was in his chair. I was extremely nervous as I had read that it's not exactly a painless piercing. He agreed and explained to me it's a very tight area to work in so it is a little bit of a slower process because the target is kinda tucked away unlike something out in the open like say, your belly button, but assured me that I could take it. When I asked how many he had done, he said "I don't know, a couple". I was shocked by this response, but was relieved when he laughed and said he really didn't know because it's hard to keep track of how many of what you've done considering how long he has been doing piercings. When I asked how long and he said 20 years, 12 of those in shops here in Kenosha (2 1/2 years at Black Pearl alone) the butterflies in my stomach disappeared. I knew I was in good hands. After a bit more talking about the piercing and the benefits of it, we started up. When he said it was a slower process than most piercings, I expected it to last more than the 2 minutes it did. Most of that time was actually spent getting the tiny little ball on the tiny little barbell. He talked to me the whole time which really kept me distracted from what was going on inside my ear. He cleaned me up and asked if I knew what to do as far as aftercare went. I told him yes, but he gave me a quick rundown of what he recommends to do, which was way off from what I used to do (I used to use hydrogen peroxide which he said is a big no-no so I'm glad he did). We finished up and I was on my way. And I WILL be back. Definitely. Well worth the $40. If you want your piercings done right, don't be afraid to spend a couple bucks extra. Experience should be what counts. Not price. Forget these sketchy artists in these fly-by-night shops that are becoming as plentiful in Kenosha as the bars. Go to Black Pearl and get it done right the first time. And btw, it's been a week since I got the piercing. I normally have 2 or 3 migraines a week but have not had one since. Highly recommended if you are a migraine sufferer.

I came here for my first tattoo. I'm glad I've gone to other shops since, because this one was…read moreawful. For one thing, I came in and sat down for about half an hour before anyone even bothered to talk to me. They just looked at me and went back to their phones. When I finally spoke to someone and gave them my design, we got to work. I got it on the front of my forearm, so my arm had to be bent backwards in a weird position in order to get proper placement, which is fine. However, I didn't get a break for the full hour that the tattoo lasted, and my arm was cold and numb by the end of it. Coupled with the fact that the artist literally did not speak to me that entire time, I felt really awkward. As far as tattoo care and touch ups, the only thing they mentioned was to keep it covered and use antibacterial soap on it. They did not offer touchups on the tattoo if it looks patchy once it is healed, which other shops have done for me. That was the first and last time I will ever go to this shop, and I recommend other places to my friends who are curious about where to go.

We had the idea of what we wanted and in just 10 minutes, we had drawings of our tattoos ready for our wrists. Super clean, professional, thorough and friendly! I struggled with how I wanted to approach leaving this review. I wanted to wait for the tattoo to…read moreheal and for my anger to subsided a little. However, I'm permanently branded and I'm sick to my stomach over this. My dog passed away on July 28th, even though I knew it was coming I was still devistated. I had always planned on getting her paw print tattooed on me. Yesterday July 31st 2020 I had someone by the name of will do my pawprint. I was very specific in how I wanted this to look. I brought in my Maggie's paw print and asked if he could replicate it without harsh lines and to keep it light and shaded. I had her actual pawprint as well as a picture pulled up on my phone for reference the entire time. When he was done he barely cleaned off the excess ink and purple stencil. I thought that was strange because every other tattoo I've had the artist make sure to clean it up really well. I made a comment about it being dark and patchy. He stated that it would lighten up as it heals and to come back in for a touch up in a few weeks. After cleaning it and looking at it the next day it's obvious why he didn't wipe up the excess ink and stencil, because it was camouflaging how bad it really was. not only does this look nothing like the picture that I brought in for reference, but you can clearly see harsh lines, some of which go right through the shaded areas. The outside, or border if you will, goes from dots to straight harsh angled lines. Nothing is consistent or organic about this at all. The little imperfections and wisps of hair from her paw print look like random polka dots. Almost 100% of the tattoo is filled in. There's no negative space or area for skin to show through. The reason I got this tattoo was to help with the grieving process of losing my dog. Now I'm feeling anger and frustration that I have a tattoo that looks like it was done by a 7th grader with a safety pin. It's going to cost me hundreds of dollars to have this removed professionally. There's no touch-up or cover-up that is going to make this look the way it was supposed to look. I was told by the doctor I have to let it heal for 8 weeks before they can start the process of removing it. With that being said it's not even about the money, or the facts that it's going to take me a long time to have this removed. It's about the fact that for whatever reason the time and care that should go into a memorial tattoo like this didn't. This tattoo was very important to me. It was a way for me to heal, and now it's just another bad tattoo story that I'm going to have to explain to a lot of people.
