If you pay to get your eyebrows cleaned and it isn't through this hair threading method...you need…read moreto get with the program! The technique is smooth, simple, and very quick. Unless you are waiting in line, you are there for 5 minutes, tops. No hustling to get other services either (I hate that. Though I may add, the manager, a male, convinced me to get a membership... but I hate tweezing and there is no way I can tweeze the furry patch I have above my brows... they do it for you!). I felt unlimited cleaning for a year, 11$ a month, was well worth it, so I became a member. Since then the price has gone up :/ :( This location has friendly threaders (is that their job description?) 2 girls in particular do an excellent job on my brows, they know exactly what my eyebrows need just by looking at them! Once 1 of the girls noticed my previous visit took too much off (how did she know!?) They are GOOD that's why. They don't strike up a conversation is why I don't know exactly the days my 2 favorite girls work. With my 1 year membership, I've had at least 2 painful experiences and needless to say, that girl is no longer employed there. *I have to add, you will need to hold your eyebrow skin with both hands during a session, so if you didn't shave or wear deodorant ... well I'm always concerned about that! *Also, they hold the string between their teeth -it's weird but that's the technique. It doesn't hurt but if you have been tweezing you know that familiar sting... but best part is, it's a gentle stroke, and not concentrated on one single hair.

It doesn't take too long to park, walk inside and find the brow bar. Eyebrow threading is the service I went in for. Price was $10 and you can tip on a credit/debit card. There were two ladies getting their eyebrows done when I showed up. The male (didn't get his name) working there soon finished up with his client and moved on to me. He threaded very efficiently and it was virtually painless. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I should have given more direction on the shape I wanted because they turned out thinner than I like but at least they were even. No frills, especially compared to getting an eyebrow wax at Benefit, which is always my #1 go to. But for a quick fix during my lunch hour, this met my expectations.

To start off I went to them during their lunch break, they had a little sign that said 15 minutes lunch break. I was hoping I could get in queue because I was a bit in a rush. But before I could barely walk into the store one of the workers stopped me and told me in a very annoyed manner that they are having lunch and would be ready in 20 minutes. It was like I walked into a construction site or something. At the time I didn't feel like going all the way to the other side of the mall to go to the other eyebrow lady so I waited and came back. When I came back they had already been taking other customers (clearly before the 20 minutes they told me) and were very rushed. When I was up to get my eyebrows threaded I told her I didn't want them too thin but she barely shaped them at all! So when I asked her to shape them more she told me to come back again and basically pay them again to get them reshaped. This is first time I've experience a threader refusing to reshape the eyebrow and I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for about 10 years now. But what I noticed is that the workers were very polite and smiley and conversational with all the other customers but me. I feel as they definitely discriminated against me because I am South Asian, figuring we don't need any sort of customer service (Most of the workers were South Asian). Even when I went up to go pay another employee was straight up giving me a dirty look. Overall they were very rude and acted if they were doing me some favor. Bottom line if I'm giving a business money then I should treated with respect and equally alongside all other customers. Also my eyebrows looked horrible afterward because her threading scraped up my skin below my eyebrows and they still looked undone. I will not be going there again.

The lady doing my eyebrows had made each eyebrow a different shape. One was thick and the other was thin, and one had a sharper curve than the other. It looked terrible that even my husband noticed and told me to get it fixed. Though I kept telling her the problem she pretended to not see any difference. Finally, I asked for someone else who attempted to fix it but said there was not much she could do and I had to wait for it to grow out. As I was leaving, the lady who first did my eyebrows sheepishly smiled and said,"Sorry". Needless to say, I will never go back there again.

I usually get dip manicures, but have had 2 no chips, because I really wanted my cuticles cleaned up. Both times I have been in I have been greeted enthusiastically. They have a wide variety of colors for any service. Today I saw Irene, and her attention to detail is fantastic. The gal at the front desk did let me know Irene is deaf, but that she would be able to translate if I needed anything. Fortunately, I know enough ASL to spell, say please, thank you, yes, no, sorry, and beautiful. And honestly, I was really happy to not have to try to awkwardly make conversation, with 3 small kids at home I was happy to just sit quietly and enjoy my service. I am rebooked with Irene in another 3 weeks, could not be happier.

Found Pro Nails on Yelp and it's located across the street from Gurnee Mills Mall. I called and I was able to get scheduled for a pedicure and a full set in the next 30 minutes which was great. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered. From the outside, the salon didn't look like much. But coming in it was vibrant and busy, and pretty spacious. Terri was the one assigned to me to do a pedi first. She did a great job on my pedicure. I just got the basic pedi with a no chip polish. Terri was very efficient and did a great job on my toes. Next - full set time. It's been a while since I got a set done, so I wanted something that was neutral. I showed Terri a picture of the ombré set I wanted and she did a good job. I usually judge a nail tech by their speed, the nail shape and how well they can file to precision, and how natural the nail looks after and whether or not it looks too thick. Terri did a great job with all of the above. My only critique is that she left some gel residue under the nail and also on my fingertips. I didn't notice until I got home and had to pick at them to clean them up afterwards. Overall I was happy with the service and will be coming back again.
