Our whole family opted to getting the soup and salad bar and were pretty satisfied. The potato and vegetable beef were pretty good.

Driving thru, first visit. Husband ordered Chili Burger that came with all the fixings on a normal burger. I ordered Buffalo Chicken Wrap which was a great nasal cleaner. Bring a hearty appetite, took half of wrap home. Great friendly service. read more

Dined here on a Thursday for supper. I had the Chicken fried steak, choosing that over the well reviewed hamburger as I wanted to dig into the salad bar. The salad bar was very fresh and hit the spot, the chicken fried steak was not the best I have ever had but it was good. The wait staff were pleasant and attentive so I would return. I can honestly say I've never had an experience like the one I had here. Went in for lunch and their website looked appealing so I was looking forward to trying it out. Boy, was I disappointed. The first observation was the abundance of flies which should have made me turn around; however, I was going to give them the benefit of a doubt. It only got worse from that point. I had a salad since I had skipped breakfast and had a ravenous appetite. It was awful....who ever heard of a salad with a crumbled up hamburger on top?? I stomached a small portion and then out of nowhere comes a guy with a flyswatter. I had happened to look down at my phone and about jumped out of my skin when he slammed the swatter down on my table as he walked by. That was enough for me. We often drive from our home in Fort Collins, CO to the Black Hills in South Dakota, and the drive through Wyoming can be long & boring with few places to stop for a bite to eat. We're so glad we tried Deacons Restaurant - now we stop whenever we're in the area! It's a local place with a diner atmosphere, but the food is delicious, the portions large, and the price very reasonable. Their main dishes come with soup & salad bar, and the soup is one reason we like this restaurant. Always homemade and always delicious. We're also fans of the Greek spread appetizer - for just $5.95 it's definitely enough to share: hummus with feta cheese, pine nuts, and roasted red peppers, topped with Greek olives, and served with warm pita bread and carrots & celery. You have to try it - it could be enough by itself for a light lunch. read more

We arrived at 11, they stop serving breakfast at 11 and would not make an exception for me and my family. Food is suspect at best.

Soup: very salty. Salad Bar: hmm, iceberg lettuce and dressing. Food: I had the Shrimp Scampi and mashed taters. Garlic and Butter sauce had stuff in it I've never seen and the mashed taters were very bland. My boyfriend had the Roast Beef, he also said it was very bland. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the folks that work there were very nice and the food wasnt horrible, it was edible but far from good. To say this is the best restaurant in Torrington isn't saying much -- there are only a handful of establishments in this fart of a town. Deacon's is little more than substandard diner fare with inflated, small-town pricing. read more

Maryland girl visiting sisters in Scottsbluff over xmas week and stopped in for lunch at Deacon's with my bf...had great ratings online. Was very charming inside despite its quaint and out-of-the-way location in town. Almost looked like it was part of an industrial park. The menu had loads of yummy comfort food-type items and it was hard to pick, honestly. The Tex Mex Eggrolls were super good - everything is obviously homemade and didn't disappoint. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious...loads of pork chunks in the right amount of sauce on a soft warm bun...mmmmmmmmmmm And the best part of all, Starbucks coffee!!!!!!!!! For a Starbucks addict, I'd been craving it all week and the next closest wasn't until Cheyenne or Denver! Wasn't perfect, but I'll take it. Will absolutely stop in here again next time in town. read more

We drove to Mt Rushmore from Colorado and originally stayed in Hot Springs which was cozy but quiet. This town was great and Deacons was greater. Loved the Mandarin Chicken Salad. It was big and Couldn't finish it. The man got the ribs which were also delicious. Lots to offer. Lots to choose from. Something for everyone to eat here. It was much better driving back to Colorado through Torrington! read more

We were driving through Torrington for the first time from the Black Hills on the way to Breckenridge, CO. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was tough to find an open restaurant in town on July 5th. We tried two that were closed before going to Deacons as it was recommended by the front desk. The staff was very prompt and friendly. They were handing out fly swatters to the regulars. It was warranted as the place was swarming with them. My wife and one daughter had chicken wraps, which they thought were decent. I had a ribeye steak that was undercooked and full of fat. I made a poor menu choice, I guess, but I was in the mood for a good steak. I give Deacons 2 out of 5 stars based on all the flies and my poor meal. read more

Best restaurant in Torrington, Hands Down! The owners Dan and Tracy do a great job of keeping this restaurant in tip top condition! The service is usually fast even when they are busy. Breakfast on Saturday morning is usually pretty busy and packed but the wait usually isn't too long. They aren't open on Sundays however. Whether you are a local or just driving through and need a place to eat, Deacons won't disappoint! read more

Toured Wyoming for a week recently, and had lunch in Torrington. After visiting the interesting Homesteader Museum, my wife and I noted all the local vehicles in the parking lot of Deacon's and decided to give it a try. It was a busy weekday lunch crowd, obviously a local favorite. I had spaghetti and meatballs, which came with soup and salad bar. My wife had the prime rib sandwich and fries. Our server was fast, friendly, and efficient. The salad bar was fresh, and well stocked. The soup was homemade, with large chucks of vegetables and a tasty broth. The sandwich was lean, hot, and satisfying. Portions were generous. Small town establishment, but worth a visit. Prices were very fair. Good quality. read more

I happened to go there for lunch today. The ownership has changed. I sometimes sit down for lunch, but most of the time it's fir takeout. What happened to me today, I'm not even sure I'll order takeout either! I sat at a booth that just needed to be cleaned with a damp rag. The amount of time from when I sat down and walked out was 20 minutes. Meanwhile, since I had sat down, 2 other couples came in and sat at tables that had dishes still on them. The waitress cleaned, brought menus, drinks. I was ignored by 2 wait staff the whole time. And the final straw was when I was still sitting at a dirty table, one of the couples received their meal. I even bowed my head too as the said prayer before eating. If the two waitresses read this I was the on in the booth on the front of restaurant with the turquoise shirt. Great luck getting any of my or my coworkers money again!!!!!! read more

Do not eat here. The food was terrible. We ordered our ribeye steak and prime rib cooked medium and they were well done. Half of my ribeye was so tough my steak knife would not cut through it. They were non caring and the service was mediocre. The waitress acted totally put out. It was the worst experience! I will never go back!!!! I did a one star because it forced me to give it at least one! Terrible! read more

Very good food, fast service, reasonable prices. The atmosphere is small town diner so I came in with low expectations for the food but was pleasantly surprised. I had the grilled salmon, and the handsome man sitting with me had the steak, which was done to his liking. (He is fussy about steak). My only complaint is that they are closed on Sundays. read more

The food was greasy and not very well prepared. The french fries were awful and inedible. The Waitress was so distracted that she screwed up the order twice. Most seriously after we asked if they had decaf coffee she said yes but brought regular coffee instead. My wife is very sensitive to caffein and can be put into a serious cardiac irregularity by it. The waitress brought regular coffee to her anyway. It is inexcusable because she didn't listen. I would never recommend the restaurant to anyone with special need. The manager called me a liar. read more
