Im a bit disappointed in my fellow yelppers, I feel like I got catfish on this nail spot. PRO: I called and they set me an appointment that worked for me - arrived and did not need to wait *it was a Friday and it was empty at 5:15pm, red flag ignored - Request french gel manicure -Service was completed within 45min -hand massage was good CON: salon needs a facelift, walls were marked with old anchors for display, needs fresh paint or walls cleaned, -Very big needed in updating uv light machine for gels , The one that was used on me had tape holding it together, melted areas, very used/ damaged/ dirty - My thumb nail had a missing area were the white french line need to end on the nail, The technician noticed while filing and mentioned it was not curred, instructing me to make sure my hand was in the light , I noticed she was not going to fix it, so I mentioned the area was missing the line. Instead of adding it, she explained that My hand was not right on the light so it didn't set right, I asked her to add the line and she filed the area away I will not be returning read more

Absolutely love this place and have started going every two weeks with my son, who is disabled. He is treated with respect, dignity and love by the staff here on each and every visit. I really wanted to love this place. The place is a bit on the older side and could use a face lift. The UV machines were held together with tape but whatever. I took my mom and I here for gel manicures on a Friday night. Both Lani & Mai were so welcoming and kind. They didn't give us all the colors to choose from, they just said "what color do you want?" And they gave us 2-3 choices. In fairness, the colors we left with did make us happy. However, I'm pretty sure the colors were old because not even 72 hrs later, my gel color is peeling!!! I needed a pedicure... as I'm always on my feet wearing heavy work boots and walking...it was so relaxing to have my feet taken care of...I plan on coming back more regular for some much needed pampering and relaxation. I highly recommend them. read more

I wish i can give less than 1 stars . I walk in to do nail spa. They told me wait 30 or 40 mint. I said ok. I sit and found there is small insects under arm rest. I saw one of the worker has rash on her neck. I decided to leave. But i told them they have a lot of small insects on desk and chair. read more

I wasn't quite sure the exact design I wanted for my nails, and hadn't gotten my nails done in over a year, but came in with some pics of some examples that I was leaning towards (wanted something cute for my baby sprinkle). I choose this salon based off Yelp and that I'd be in town that day with some friends for brunch. The person who greeted me when I first walked in was friendly. The person who did my nails was also friendly, patient, looked at my pics and let me know what she could do for me. I ended up getting a new gel manicure with designs - pic attached ($45-$49). She got up to get me water at least three times and engaged in pleasant conversations with me as well. It's nice to know they offer mimosas to their customers and had a little bar set up. Being that I'm super pregnant it was nice that the salon was nicely aired whereas with some other salons there is a strong nail polish smell. The only reason for one less star was that there was a slight ant problem in the bathroom (harmless really..they were along the bottom wall/ground near trashcan and some were on the sink counter, but that's the only con I found) read more

Me and my bestie came in as walk ins 30 minutes before closing thinking they wouldn't take us in but it was the complete opposite they sat us down gave us mimosas and were very polite. My nails took about 2 hours but it was the best experience she took her time shaping my nails and making sure they were perfect. I asked for marble design & she did such a great job. Hands down the past experience I've ever had getting a mani and pedi. I went here with my fiancé and even he loved it while sippin' on his mimosa. They really take their time here and are super friendly. The entire set up is really nice and comfortable. We were able to get pampered while watching a movie on Netflix. Netflix and chill all the way here! I wished I remembered my nail ladies name because she was the sweetest! I will definitely be back for my fill soon! read more

Service was great. I was seen almost immediately & offered a beverage after I was seated in the pedicure chair. Cathy was my nail tech & she always made sure I was comfortable. What I didn't like was their pedicure "tub". It looked like a basin my grandmother used to make kimchi in. No jacuzzi bubbles or fun colored lights. I opted for the minty pedicure. My pedicure came out very nice and was only $45 but I don't think I'll be returning. read more

This place.... What can I say. I went to get my nails done on a Saturday by Sunday I had bubbles in my nail polish.... Big bubbles so I went back on Monday to have them fix it and guess what.... Would have been 5 stars but the pedicure ssuuccckkksssss, but let me tell you my nails look amazing on my hand so I'm happy. Nicely shaped, listened to what I wanted and they are so cute. I love what she did. I'm posting a pic of what I got. But don't waste your money on their pedicures. Overly priced, no jets, no massage chairs, foot rub Is 2 min and over, and you have to use your muscles to hold your leg up while they paint your toes. Im not kidding. They just bring a bowl from the back and you have to hover your legs when they need you to. But my nails makes up for it, and the ladies are really friendly which Is nice. read more

Cash and card accepted. De Paris Nail Spa is located in a plaza and offers a lot of plaza parking. I went with a friend during lunch on a weekday and there were 2 other customers there. I got a regular mani /pedi and it took about 1.5 hours and was $50 before tip. This place has a lot of colors and the ladies were nice. Overall it was a nice experience and I would go back. read more

Found this place using Yelp as I'm new to the area. My first visit was a wonderful experience. Anne filled my gel nails with great service, conversation and quality for the specific look I wanted. My second visit on December 31st was also wonderful. I was able to make a reservation on Yelp as the Owner Kim is very responsive. She knew who I was when I walked in and called me by name. They have a nice little bar set up for drinks while you are getting your services done. The place is pretty large with many tables for manicures and seats for pedicures. I'm happy to say I will be making this my regular place read more

I have had my acrylic nails done for the past 37 years. Ive been to every nail salon from Union City to Santa Cruz. I chose this nail salon based on it's numerous 5-star reviews and the photos that are posted. Boy, am I glad I did! The owner, Kim did my nails. Let me tell you ladies, their work is far superior to your average nail salon. When I first walked in, I noticed the decor was extremely classy, the shop spotless, big screen TV's hung everywhere with relevant shows playing, with each employee happy and cheerful. I'm not used to seeing all these elements present in one salon! First, I had a pedicure, and although they don't have the big commercial chairs with attached tubs, what they did do more than made up for it. They have these spacious reclining chairs that are so comfortable i could easily nap in them. Next, they brought out a very charming round bowl with rose petals, hot rocks to keep the water warm throughout the entire process along with little sprigs of greenery. The pedicure was thorough. She cut my nails to the requested length, and next came the divine hot rock massage. It was heavenly, although I thought it was a bit too short. Hot towels, then toenails painted french beautifully. Next up, my nails. Kim, the owner was the perfect host and ultimate professional. She was sweet and kind with the most beautiful UK mixed accent I've ever heard. I could listen to her talk all day! I was offered, mimosa, hot tea, water, or a shot of my favorite liquor. WOW!! I took her up on that shot with some ice cold water. She did my nails so perfectly, i couldnt believe what i was seeing! Added a little 3D art on top of a pink to white ombre effect and i had the most perfect and utterly gorgeous nails on the west coast right along with the other ladies who frequent her shop. Unfortunately, I am moving to Kansas just when i found The perfect nail salon. What can I say except, THANK YOU KIM!!! I booked a shellac pedi and 3d mani. They were able to accommodate me to my desired timeframe. I got the regular pedi and let me tell you, the massage was fantastic! Its my new favorite pedi spot! Moving on to my mani...I came in with my outgrown True Gel nails from a different salon, which I love love love... But the price to have them done was breaking my piggy bank. I started looking for a place that would incorporate nail art into my mani and this place seemed to offer that service. I was hoping they would have the True Gel nail service but they do not. So, I opt for shellac with 3d designs/nail art. I had 3 different gals work on my mani, which is unusual for me. * Girl #1 = she also did my pedi, cleaned up my gel nails and prepped me for my mani (I wish she completed everything for me) *Girl #2 = she was timid while cleaning my cuticles, which was making me very nervous. I can tell she was fresh out of school and was so worried that my mani would come out looking sloshed! I was in panic mode at that time. and to top it off with, I didn't get a massage with my mani :( *Girl #3 = OMG! so happy i got her because she was definitely more confident with her skills and understood the design concept of what looks good and bad. Kim, I believe that's her name, provided confident advice, which reassured me that my nails won't come out looking trashed. The outcome - very cute nails. I ended up with lilac french tips, white polka dots and 3d flowers on 4 fingers. However... my appointment was at 10am and I ended up leaving this joint at 1:30pm. I was starving Marvin at that time!!! I think it took long because I was bouncing around from 3 different persons. And I want to confirm what other Yelpers had already said about this place. They offer you champagne, candy and unlimited hours of Friends reruns. I think I caught about 6 episodes since I was there for soooo lonnnnnggggg!!! The pedi chairs are super plush and had cup holders for you. I loved those seats. Next time I go there, I'll be sure to book 1 appointment at a time and with Kim or girl #1 (I'll know by looking at her face). read more

Another great experience at the nail salon today. I got Dip Powder with an extension ($55) and Thi did an excellent job. Cathy was next to us working on a client and she was also doing a really great job on the lady's nails. I thought this Dip powder would be more pink based on looking inside the jar but it was actually red :( But overall I thought it was a great job and I'll be back in a few weeks to change the color (: UPDATE: 2 hours after nails I reach into my bag and the dip polish literally peels up. I have never experienced this before. Probably because she didn't get the ends of my nails with the dip. :( read more

Good customer service , everyone was so nice but I don't recommend getting eyebrow wax. I left so disappointed but still paid caus I felt bad because they were so nice. To be honest it didn't even look like I got them waxed , it looks like I naired them myself. One eyebrow was shorter than the other , it got waxed too far from the middle so they look so far apart. I should've known when the lady didn't start by cutting the hairs down with scissors first , just went straight to waxing . I now have to grow them out for ANOTHER month just go get my shape back , sigh. But that's what I get for just googling a close one near me so I definitely learned my lesson. read more

I feel bad for giving 3 stars because everyone is really nice and they do offer great services like 2 free mimosas and a massage with your pedicure. However I had quite high expectations especially because this was for my wedding and the cost was really high for my acrylic nails and pedicure ($130 total). 2 of my finger nails are slightly crooked, if you are really detail oriented like me then it could bother you. The rhinestones I had on each nail weren't completely aligned and she laid all the glue onto the nail, then applied the rhinestones so now you can see all the glue. I brought this to her attention but she said it's because she wants to be sure the rhinestones don't fall off (which is understandable) but then you can still see all the glue... also, you can still see my nail on the corners of each nail so they aren't completely filled. Again, they are all very nice but I just expected way better quality for how much I paid. From a distance, the nails look really nice so that's what matters for wedding photos. I was also here for 3.5 hours which is way longer than I expected. If you're just looking for a salon for day to day nails and to relax, then this could be the place for you. However I wouldn't recommend this salon if it's for a special day like your wedding. read more

I've had several technicians and they've all done great including Kim, Mye, Cathy, Thuy, and Lani. All amazing! I really miss this salon and the people. I feel bad about this review but the quality of my nails is the reason I have to leave it. I'm so unhappy that I don't even know where to start. First bad sign was when they made me sit and wait for someone to fill my nails. She charged me for a fill but didn't fill my nails. She filed them down and just put polish over my old powder acrylic. She put SO MUCH polish that I had to file smooth spots on all sides so it didn't have ledges. She didn't glue my nails down so after filing all my acrylic off they're now lifting and I've ripped off three of my lifting nails underneath to keep them from completely snagging. She also left holes IN MY NAILS from over filing, not helping with the lifting issue. I've had these nails for a week. I will NEVER come back to this salon. Theres's no excuse for this shoddy work. read more

Sooo I'm torn to be giving such a low rating because my nail tech has been very sweet and she's good at what she does, the shape, they gentleness etc but.... So I decided on getting dip powder nail manicure because I've read at many places they're suppose to be healthier than gel because you don't need to use UV light. Unfortunately this place still uses UV light. Not sure why.... I did not ask for gel coating or anything gel related because I wanted a healthier option than having to Use UV light. Here's the worse part though she dipped my nails directly into the jar of dipping powder. Eeww eeww eeww!!! How unhygienic is that?!?! I came here twice hoping to give them a second chance, benefit of the doubt. Same thing again with the dip powder: UV light & double dipping into the jar. The second time I came I got a pedicure too. This looked hygienic because they use a bowl for your feet so there's not chance of bacteria building up in the spa jets. They also serve you drinks but only one drink per person. Where as other places give you a drink per service u pay for. So That was a bummer as well... to spend $100+ & 2hrs to only get one drink. I'd have given them three stars (good nail tech, hygienic pedicure bowl, offers 1drink) but the double dipping into the jar and not having dip nails be a healthier option as they can be, I was sorely disappointed. read more

I've had my nails done for years now and this one has been the worst one I've ever had. Really upset. I want a refund. It was lumpy, uneven, and short. The beautiful length I had before was cut down and made to a flair boot shape. Not what I wanted... I was really optimistic because the nail tech herself had such beautiful nails she said she had done herself mostly... she did not take her time or focus on my detail like she had for herself. I felt robbed of my time, money, and energy. Some think that it's something so small and "just your nails" but it's more. You go and make the time to get your nails done. You are looking forward to pretty nails. You sit for an hour to get them done. When you just cant believe what you're given and how she could want you back... you just want to get the hell out of there. You're done. I came back and asked them to just file it away and I was done. I later went to another salon and spent more money to try and make up for them. Still feel robbed and hurt. My nails will grow back but the positively I had for this place probably wont. Wish the nail tech had cared more and given more attention to my nails or told me what it was going to look like before it was too late. read more

I did end up reaching out again today, per his request, and Elena Aleteanu, the other owner, has not changed her stance. She is telling me that they can't do anything on their end and that I need to reach out to Square. Square is telling me that they can't do anything on their end and that the business needs to initiate the refund. So, I reached out to Ronald again directly, and he did not respond. In addition, he got my Google review deleted and is trying to get this one deleted as well, but thankfully Yelp is a lot better about keeping honest reviews. I also forgot to note that the service was booked for two hours total, as a side by side massage. Elena tried to SCAM my sister and her partner by offering each a 1 hour service, one at a time (because of being understaffed), even though it is a two hour service. I paid $400 for the massages, so she's was trying to tell my sister that each service (which included a full massage and facial) of $200 was for one hour only, which is a lie. ORIGINAL POST: AVOID California Skin Care & Day Spa in Newark I prepaid for a service (it was a gift), received a confirmation reminder the day before, and made arrangements for my sister and her partner who are visiting from out of town. I even paid for an Uber to get them there. They arrived on time and the place was closed. No staff, no setup, nothing. They waited about 40 minutes, while I tried calling and messaging every available number. Eventually Ronald Aleteanu, one of the owners, responded on WhatsApp , but that did not change the situation and the service still was not provided. Between the Uber and waiting, this ended up wasting about 2 hours of their time (& money for the Uber), and they left with nothing. After all of that, Elena Aleteanu (who eventually came) claimed she had called and left a message (and at one point claimed that she talked to someone - a complete lie). I never received any call or voicemail, and I confirmed that the number I entered was correct. Their explanation just does not add up, especially since they had no problem sending a reminder the day before. What is most frustrating is that they still refused to issue a refund for a service they never provided. Instead, they only offered store credit, which is completely unreasonable. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. I also posted this on NextDoor and numerous people replied noting that the same thing happened to them. So this is not an isolated incident. I've been receiving Botox for years and typically need only 30-35 units for my face (forehead, eyes, etc.). I had 79 units banked at Arrive, and because they're closing for renovations in December, I was strongly encouraged to use all remaining units in one visit -- even though I expressed that I never need that much. Trusting their expertise, I went along with their recommendation. To my disappointment, all 79 units were injected, yet entire areas were completely missed, including the right side of my forehead and part of the left. The result was lopsided and underwhelming -- I still had visible forehead movement, which should not have been the case with that dosage. When I returned to have their mistake corrected, I was told I had to pay for half of the additional units needed to fix it. I ended up paying nearly $1,000 total -- for something that usually costs me $300-$400 -- and still had to cover part of the correction for an error I did not cause. I pleaded my case to Jackie, hoping for some accountability, but she wasn't convinced they had done anything wrong. I was told management reviewed it and stood by the decision that I should still pay for part of the follow-up. What's more concerning is that, unlike most reputable med spas, Arrive rarely shows you the product being used before injection. You never see the vial or how it's being prepared. At other places I've been, they always show the Botox label and draw it up in front of you -- a simple but important step that builds trust. At Arrive, that transparency is missing, and it left me wondering whether I even received authentic Botox. I trusted this business with my care and feel completely let down -- not just by the poor administration of the Botox, but by the lack of transparency and unwillingness to take responsibility for a clear mistake. I deeply regret pre-purchasing units, and I highly doubt I will return. I wouldn't recommend this place based on my experience. Be cautious. Ask to see the product. Question recommendations that deviate from your norm. And don't assume that pre-purchasing units guarantees a good experience -- in my case, it cost me more in money, trust, and time.

My gf got me a gift certificate from this salon for my birthday. So I have to drive all the way from San Jose to this nail salon. My appointment was for pink & white and a regular pedi. The salon is little small compare to the other places that I've been to. There is no spa chairs therefore you feel like walking into a lounge which has video music, leather couch, and drinks. I was so impressed about the fact this salon is using the metal bow with pedals of roses for my pedi (more sanitized i guess) . I was totally relax when the lady started the hot stone massage. then she wrapped my feet with hot towels as to conclude my pedi. The whole treatment was like an hour long. It was so worth the money. Moving to my pink and white set, Kim, the manicurist, was so gentle to me. The pink & white came out very natural and pretty especially the Hello kitty 3D design. Super cute. I had my mani/pedi appointment set up for 10AM, and when I got there I had to wait 50 minutes before the technician showed up to work. There's a reason people make appointments, and not walk in because they have other places to be. Once my technician was ready, she was nice but she focused on talking to the other ladies in their language the whole time and only talked to me about color, and which pedicure I wanted. I spent over $100 for both, and my gel manicure was lifting from the edges same day. And my pedicure was very sloppy. There was absolutely nothing special about this place, and you can find much better nail places for half the price. I took my lady there for her nails done. Although I didn't do my nails, but I was very impress by the environment and customer services. They offer me beverages as a compliment for taking my lady there. It's a petite area, but the design was very impressive, peaceful, no lousy chit chat like the nails places that I've been with my lady. And ohhhhhh those ipadssss 2, wifi and comfy sofa, I can stay there for hours. Anyway, Kim was the person did my lady's nail. She was very knowledge of what's doing. My wife found this place on Yelp. I took her there yesterday for the first time. The name of the business is actually De Paris Nail Spa. I think Tinas Nail Care is probably the name of the old business. I usually don't like taking her to do her nails but this place is a lot different. You can't even tell it's a nail salon because they don't use those pedicure chairs with the build in water tubs. They use large water bowls ito do your feet. It looks alot like a hang out lounge. I like the IPADS that they installed at the lounge. At least I had something to play with while I waited. The lady at the front desk is very nice, she gave me drinks and fruits while I was playing with the IPAD. read more

I made an appt the night before and the owner responded quickly which I loved! The two ladies that worked on my daughter's nails did a fantastic job! She loved it. The lady who did mine, Julie, kept looking at my nails (I did my own nails the previous night) and giving it the stink eye (at least to me it seemed that way). It was making me uncomfortable so I asked her if she wanted to see my nails up close. She replied with no but said the color was pretty. She then asked me what color I wanted and I told her a sparkly or shimmery white. She asked if I wanted gel, it lasts longer but I declined. I noticed that she was painting just plain white and let it go because I know there was a language barrier. So I let it go. When mine was done, it honestly looked like she used whiteout to paint it. I made a note to self that I wouldn't be returning. Two hours after, I looked down at my toes and it looked like there was a yellow tint to them. I put my toes next to my daughter's, who also got white but gel) and you can clearly see a color difference. I went today to go back and have it repainted but they are closed for the holiday. I'll have to wait. I am disappointed in my experience. We stilled tipped all three ladies pretty good. $20 for each lady doing my daughter's nails and $10 for Julie (I really just wanted to give her $5 but was overruled by my daughter who felt bad)

The girl I was stuck with said her name was Ivy... She tried to cut my toenails with clippers possibly from the 99 cent store 15 minutes for 1 foot!! I told her to get another instrument, she went in back and rinsed one off and came back with another same kind of toenail clipper... Another 15 minutes, her hair getting on me!! I had to reach over an hold her hair off of me... She giggled!! GROSS!! Crooked cutting... I took the clippers and file to show her how to do it!! I asked her when she is going to take her test to get licensed... She said she took it 2 years ago??!!! HOLY CRAP it was like a 5 year old learning to do her 1st pedicure!! Barely made an effort to scrub my feet, I really tried not to be rude, and I'm thinking where can I go get this fixed... Picking color; mostly just looking for a not empty bottle!! I used to come here but they sold the shop 2 years ago, then they gave you a hard time trying to sell you EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink so I never went back... I specifically told the nail technician to be gentle and to only trim it, not remove it. Despite this, the toenail was ripped off completely. I am in significant pain and it will now take several months for the nail to grow back. The experience did not stop there. My cuticles were also filed aggressively, even after I repeatedly asked for it to stop. At one point, I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously because she laughed at me. I left in discomfort that required them to apply Vaseline before I left due to irritation. I will not be posting a photo as the injury is graphic. This was a genuinely upsetting experience and I would not want anyone else to go through something similar. I would strongly recommend others consider going elsewhere. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER - Yes, $5.50 was taken off my bill. However, that does not come close to addressing what happened. I know my own toenails, and I clearly explained multiple times that one nail was loose and needed to be trimmed carefully. Despite that, the technician did not listen and ended up ripping the toenail off entirely. It was still attached and could have been handled gently, but it was not. At this point, my priority is not to go back and forth but to share my experience honestly so others are aware before booking an appointment. I believe it is important for potential customers to know what occurred. I understand your request, but I'm not comfortable posting a photo. This place has really gone downhill. I've been coming for about a year but my last few services just got worse and worse to where I refuse to come back. 3rd to last appt - I came at a busy time and felt like my nails were really rushed so I decided to try coming on a different day. 2nd to last appt - I got a gel pedicure and there were bubbles and the customer service felt rushed. I started to realize this is becoming the norm here. Last appointment - I had a scheduled appointment and I waited for 30+ minutes until I decided this wasn't relaxing or worth it any more so I left. After 25 mins of waiting, the front desk lady gave me a bowl to start soaking my hands and she said "they're coming soon." They never communicated an apology or explanation that this would be a delayed appointment. Normal courtesy from salons is to give a heads up if it's 10-15 mins late. I waited 30 minutes and just decided to leave. As I was walking out the front desk person asked if I wanted to reschedule, I said no thanks and she just sighed as I was walking out. Never got an apology til the end..
