Not to mention they raced to put away the food before guests had a chance to get their final plates. Also, I don't think I've ever attended a cocktail hour where I was told "no" by one of the servers when asking for more than one item (seriously, they had chicken and lamb skewers, I asked for one of each and was told no). The bartenders were messing up drinks left and right, and the waiters (while friendly) made some errors as well. Our whole table was never served cake, and I think this is the first wedding I've ever attended where I actively needed to flag someone down to get a cup of coffee. In all honesty the food was very good, we just wish the staff serving it was up to the same level.

This place serves up fresh art in a beautiful well lit gallery space. The artist in this show were young but had ample show credits. There were four artists represented for the current show. The work by John Elliott is worth a visit to see. Composed of 100 or so different sized paintings arranged in a mathematical array of sorts. The vibe on opening night was a great mix of locals and art lovers from out of the area.

I went to Industry City for a work retreat and I was honestly surprised by how much there is to do…read morein one place. There are so many restaurants and stores that you can wander without any plan and still find something interesting. The whole space has this open creative energy that feels very Brooklyn. The courtyards are really nice to walk through and the art installations give the place a fun personality. It feels like a mix of food hall, shopping area, and outdoor hangout spot all in one. There are great food options, coffee spots, and little shops that make it easy to spend time there without rushing. The person on hand was friendly and helpful, and they're always ready to assist you with lighting, tables, or AC adjustments. Knowing some Spanish is helpful, maybe that was just my experience. Proud to say we did! The facilities were cleaned when you arrive. CONS: The event space is on the second floor, which means it's not accessible for people with wheelchairs, walkers, or canes. There's no elevator to bring up food, drinks, decorations, or equipment. Also, remember to bring extra toiletries for the bathroom. The bar area is small, so you can only store a few bottles below. There's a long ice chest below for stocking cold drinks, and there's an ice maker on site behind the bar. Overall, I'd give this venue three stars for the experience. All you need is a plan and people to execute it, and it can be a nice venue for your event.

I paid the $400 for the 360 photo booth, but they never provided the service because their photo booth operator got drunk and broke the equipment. (as I was told via phone call from JOSE RIVERA, AN ABSOLUTE LIAR WHO SAID HE WOULD REFUND MY MONEY) I was still charged for the service after Jose called to let me know he would not be charging. Both Jose & his gf came into my party, ate our food & drank our liquor (for our guests), all while looking high on drugs. I was mortified having my party at Sunset Social House!!! After I realized Jose was ignoring my messages about my $700 refund, I disputed the charge with my credit card. This is when Jose would reach out to try to "fix" things after initially ignoring me. When we spoke, we decided to let the dispute go through; however, Jose would then tell the credit company that he had already paid me, so my dispute would end with me being responsible. 3 TIMES WE WENT THROUGH THIS SINCE JANUARY. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! I did not get my $300 security deposit back (after we cleaned up after our party), nor did I get my $400 for a service I did not receive. This only gets 1 star because I have to give it that minimally, I give this venue 0 stars.

The 4-million square foot BAT complex was used as a supply base and military depot during both World Wars. During WWII, it became the country's largest military supply base. Soldiers were deployed from here -- Elvis Presley being the most famous. BAT was decommissioned in 1964. Much of the original architecture remains today. A variety of tenants lease the space. I spent a long time in Building B's impressively majestic main atrium, soaking in the stunningly silent and solemn atmosphere. It was late in the day, and overcast. I was one of the only ones there. It felt almost reverent, as if I was in an industrial cathedral. Very cool to also see the old track where freight trains use to pull in and unload their cargo. Afterwards, it was a short walk around back to catch the NYC ferry. I'd love to return one day and explore more of this remarkable place.
