The only redeeming features of this store are the ease of parking and the one staff member who actually acknowledged my existence and then tried to help. Otherwise, everyone who entered the store was greeted by multiple staff members as they walked in ... except me. Am I invisible? Well, I didn't think so, but when I tried to go through the register line to find an impulse item and the way was blocked by a staff member stocking shelves from a cart that he had used to block the register lane and neither moved nor acknowledged that I was even there, I started to wonder whether I really was actually invisible. Which would be a great superpower, but not helpful when you are in a store and trying to get around as well as getting help from staff. Stay away from this one. read more

First of all, let me start off with the pros. The store is clean and organized. At least the times that I have been there. Prices are good and they have a good selection of things. Plenty of parking and conveniently located near me. Con: My issue is with their customer service. First of all, I don't know when it became ok for workers to curse in front of customers. Also, no one has a visible name tag. Second of all, me and another person were the only people in line. The other person was in front of me. The cashier was in the process of ringing her up when she was already calling me up to be next. I stepped up a few steps, but I noticed they weren't done with their transaction so I stepped back. Another lady who I guess was the "line monitor" told me that I was next, and that I can start placing my items. I told her I was gonna wait right here because the lady was not done yet. And she's says, "yea, but we prefer it this way". Uhhhhh I'm sure the lady wouldn't appreciate me being all in her personal space while she puts her money back in her purse. I know I wouldnt. So I stayed where I was. She kept motioning me with her hand to move up... I look back. What is the rush?? There is no one else in line! I'm not one for reviews but I felt like this one was very much deserved.. Went in today and it looked like a pretty busy day as there was a fair amount of people shopping. Nonetheless the store did look very tidy compared to other Ross and DD's stores I've previously visited. I originally went in looking for just a hat but they had a vast variety of different home accessories and clothing that I ended up getting more than i had in mind. Also big ups to people in front who try and keep the system running smoothly, I always feel the need to appreciate good workers for what they do like the cashier Wendy for being swift and efficient keeping the long lines moving even when it looks overwhelming, and Alex who I believe is a manager calling the shots in the front making sure help is sent where needed to keep the whole operation from backing up and letting it run smoothly as possible all while both keeping a great and friendly attitude as they helped me. I think that's a great quality that they have as I bet it is very hard to stay positive while dealing with so many people and pressure the whole day not even considering the ones who just are having an awful day and have only the intention of ruining others by being just a pain. In conclusion this is a very well managed DD's with hard workers that seems to be running like a well oiled machine and I will be back for more!! read more

Came here with my mom and aunt on opening day. We got there around noon and they had opened at 9am. The parking lot is huge, the employees were all very friendly welcoming everyone upon arriving. The place was more crowded than hell. There were kids running around playing everywhere you couldn't even walk. You could not even look through the aisles because the line was so long it wrapped around the entire store twice. People were making line blocking very aisle, it was a disaster. The store had only been open 3 hours and it looked like it had been open for a week straight without any maintenance, there was clothes and items all over the floor. Check you receipt before you leave this location. They charge twice for items and then give you an attitude when you say something. I'm sure this location gets away with so much because a lot of people that come here are elderly and have difficulty reading the receipt. While at this location I witnessed 3 people get over charged and the line got longer due to people having to come back in line to get a refund. The girls that work there have no personality and look like they hate their job. The inside is a disaster. They were workers walking around and would not pick up items in the floor blocking the isles. It's like they ha e blinders in and only want to walk around aimlessly. Update: I love the items they sell at DDs discount. I've found a lot of Target brands, Old Navy and even Adidas here for a really good price and in good condition. They also sell random snacks and candies that you cant find at a regular grocery store. I still hate the fact that there's no public restrooms though. read more

First, let me start by saying I am a regular customer at DD'S Discounts. I love their merchandise at affordable low prices. However, I had the most unpleasant and unprofessional experience here at this location the other day. I had 13 items to purchase and I was the ONLY person in line with NO ONE, I repeat NO ONE behind me. The cashier who was overweight and had like star tattoos on her face called me up to the register. As I placed the 13 items on the counter, she asked me to REMOVE all 13 items from the hangers. I heard her but didn't do as she asked because frankly I thought she was too damn LAZY to remove the hangers herself. And it was NOT a customer's job to remove the hangers. If you're working the register in a clothing store, and you're TOO lazy to do your job, then please quit. Don't ask the customer to do YOUR job. Yes, if there was a LONG line and she was the ONLY cashier working the register, I would be happy to remove the hangers as she asked to help speed up the transaction. WTF.... there was NO customer, again I repeat there were NO customer behind me. She thought I didn't hear her the first time so again she asked AGAIN "Can you remove all the items from the hangers"? I asked her, "Why can't you do it"? She said something like "There's a sign that asks all the customers to remove their hangers but if you don't want to do it, that's fine". She started to ring up all the items as I stood there feeling irritated and upset at her attitude and lack of professionalism. I think she sensed that I felt uncomfortable and told me "I'm not trying to pick on you, I'm just following protocol". Let me mention that, I have removed hangers while I stood in line COUNTLESS COUNTLESS times when there was a LONG LINE because I did not and DO NOT mind doing so. It is just who I AM. But NEVER ONCE had I ever received a "Thanks for removing the hangers" from ANY of the cashiers. Yet, I still DO NOT mind doing so as long as it is reasonable....such as LONG LINES. Just like I am one of those people who DO NOT mind bagging my own groceries when I'm at the grocery store DESPITE NO cashier ASKING me to do so. It is just my MO. But on this particular day at DD'S Discounts, I thought it was UNBELIEVABLE that a cashier would ASK me to remove all 13 items from the hangers when again, it is NOT my JOB, NOT my responsibility to do so. And especially when there was NO ONE in line BEHIND ME!!!! And there were 2 cashiers at the counter!!! If she was TOO lazy to do her job, she should NOT have called me to the register and just let someone else rang me up. This is where I get my work scrubs. They're reasonably priced. Sometimes the selection of scrubs is vast and sometimes it's not. The customer service here has never been great for me personally, but it's never been horrible. I learned what horrible customer service is at a Vons in Tujunga. A supervisor there gave me the glare of death when I asked her a simple question. That made me appreciate the type of customer service I receive at places like this. It's not great, but as long as I'm not being looked at in a threatening manner or being talked down to, then I'm not going to complain because it could be much worse. This place is a treasure hunt! They have awesome finds at great prices. Just make sure you have time to look through everything. Some items are quality and some not so much. I go often and always find something good. The staff can be hit or miss. I don't expect Nordstrom level service, but a smile would go far. The bargains are the trade off. The Cashier was so so so SLOW. I agree with Nataly S per recent review in Sept 27, 2017. However, it is Jan 24, 2018 and the stores cashiers are still super SLOW. I was in line waiting for 15 minutes and the Cashier was on only one customer. My husband and parents were waiting for me too and even commented ...wow she is slow. There was two customers behind me and complaining too!!! Then two more customers came and went into the return line. Three of us was waiting first and I was next up and she took the person in the return line(customer 4) instead of the customers that was there first. They should have a better system. I told her I don't think that is right and walked out ( of course I left the items that they would of profit from in the store.) The manager came too late as I was already walking out with 5 customers waiting on a very slow cashier. They have a cheerful door greeter who probably would be faster than her. They could have him help with the cashiering duties. The workers are doing stocking or folding items but they would be better to have better customer service at there cashier counters. I will never put foot in this store ever again and that includes my family that was waiting with me too. The manager does a very poor job of not taking care of the customers that want to pay for their items and he should train his workers to work the cashier area better even if he is not around.
