As I entered this store today, I was approached by a worker, right before I grabbed my cart, and told I wasn't allowed to take my drink in the store. Mind you, there was no sign posted in the window that no drinks were allowed inside. It's Phoenix, and it's 100° every day! Who wouldn't allow an adult customer to have a drink? DD's discounts is the sister of the Ross family but with a smaller selection. However, one can find some attractive deals if you are patient and know what you are looking for. A majority of the items are slightly lower end quality, but it's to be expected in a discount chain. You can find decorative items for the house, purses, women's, and clothes for children as well. I was an employee at this location I never called in and I was never late and busted my butt. These managers turned around and accused me of things I did not do and I was fired for someone else's actions just because a guy that was lost prevention did not like me because he was rude to all the girl employees and I wasn't having it. He was friends with the man that made false accusations and fired me. To this day I am still traumatized by how I was treated and questioned I cried so much that day and all though other managers there loved me and knew my innocence I was still let go. Sexist A-holes! If I knew now what I didn't know then I would have sued! This was 8 years ago. read more

I had never seen a dd's Discount store until I started hanging out in Glendale. I had no idea what to expect but was in a shopping mood and wanted to check it out yesterday. When we walked in I looked around and it reminded me of a mini Ross. I had just visited a Ross so I was skeptical on finding anything nice. The clothing section was not interesting to me at all, but they had quite a few nice home goods for decent prices. I didn't end up buying anything but will probably visit it again in a few months to see if they have any new items in stock. read more

I read lots of reviews before heading over the the DD discounts. I always take reviews with a grain of salt .. usually I am pleasantly surprised when other say it is bad! It was GREAT.. YES it's a discount store.. DISCOUNT.. so don't expect more! Lots of great prices on home items! Lots of plus sized clothes (usually hard to find in a regular store). I did think that the styles were more urban than I usually buy but I found two cute tee shirts both $3. Lots of undies and bras at great prices. I found that the items were all in the right place and clearly marked on the racks (I really appreciate that). GREAT prices on shoes. Didn't buy any today as I just got a couple pair, but I will keep this store in mind for the future! GIVE IT A TRY! If you love a bargain this is a place for you! I will review the customer service as I know a lot of other reviews said that they were bad. I was greeted by the security guard upon my arrival. He was nice while doing his job. The cashier that I had was nice and answered my questions with a nice voice and attitude. I had a great experience overall! read more

Found some amazing deals on Christmas gifts for our 2 1/2 year old son. Their toy section has some real bargains. I scored a Batman scooter, a "Cars" bat and ball set, a large plastic tool bench with attached chalkboard (equipped with all sorts of plastic tools) and a 5 foot basketball hoop for $60. They also have a wide assortment of woman's, children's and men's clothing as well as an extensive "home" section. Think curtains, bedsets, pots and pans, artwork etc. There are deals to be had in all areas of the store, you just have to look for them. My one complaint is that you are unable to take your shopping cart out of the store. When purchasing 3 large boxed items that makes for a difficult transition from store to car, especially when you have a toddler with you. Next time I go I'll be sure to bring my husband to help carry all the sweet deals out to the car. read more

Ok I like some of the merchandise , most of the staff, are friendly, and the prices are good. What I don't like is the clientele. The customers ravage the store. They block aisles with their carts, act suspicious -hide items in different places throughout the store. I would think they must have a huge problem with theft because of the way these customers treat the store. I would suggest they invest in security cameras if they don't have them. It would also help if the staff enforced basic measures i.e. children running around in the stores unattended. read more

We went to a Bakersfield, California one, recently ,did not know what it was, so looked to see if we had one here and we do! This one not as big or nice as the CA. one. They had one check out lady so lines were long. Was a bit disappointed in what they had, reminded me of a goodwill! Long way from home so probably won't go again read more

I went into DD's to return some stuff that I purchased on Sunday I paid cash so I expected to get my pet cash back the only reason that I purchase the items was to try them on at home because they do not provide you with the restroom the proceeded to do the return and told me that I was going to get a store credit I didn't need the credit I needed the cash this is ridiculous and I will never shop at DD's or Ross ever again read more

I went into dds yesterday for the first time. I tried on several items. I found a few shirts on my way to check out. I didn't have time to try them on. I asked the girl at the register if I could return them if they didn't work out. She said yes. She never once mentioned that returns are for store credit ONLY. If she had I would have put them back and waited for a day when I had more time. A few shirts just didn't work so I took them back, still with tags and guess what? Store credit only. I even paid cash. I have never heard of a store with this type of return policy. I will take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

I am a fan of this store in general but recently I had grabbed a drink at a local shop then walked over to shop. I was stopped at the door and turned away for a "no drinks in store" policy. I asked if I could place my drink in my stroller and was told "no". I was given no other option. I was not going to throw out my brand new drink, just to shop in the store. This is a ridiculous policy that cost the business revenue for the day. read more

As others have mentioned for various stores, the "no water" rule is absolutely unbelievable!! It was 116 degrees yesterday & lots of customers walk/bike/use transit to get to the store. Not only that, but the security guards at the front treat you as if you're some criminal breaking the law.. FOR A WATER BOTTLE. Then they tell you it needs to be thrown away or put outside in said 116 degree weather. Unfortunately for me, this is my closest retail store to where I live.. I used to be a very loyal customer, until the hot seasons rolled around & I'm stopped in my tracks at the door like some criminal.. TWICE! First with a fountain soda - which is understandable (not my complaint).. So I had resolved to make sure I had only carried a sealed bottle of water when making trips to the store. I have tried to e-mail corporate (like I said, I love the store & live around the corner) to tell them I really cannot imagine a time when I'd walk to the store WITHOUT water to keep hydrated.. Their response? "We have a sign on our door near the hours stating no drinks. Hope you continue to shop at our stores." HELLO? I just wrote a polite letter referencing the health risks of walking in extreme heat warnings without water & mentioned it was not something I could afford to compromise. Unfortunately, I'm now forced to choose between hydration or shopping at DD's? I'll take my water & shop elsewhere, thanks! read more

DO NOT shop here. The staff is very unfriendly. First of all, I walked in with a small bottle of water (it's like 110 degrees outside - I need my H2O) and was immediately stopped by the security guard who asked me to put the bottle in my purse.I thought he was joking at first but realized he was serious, so I pointed at my little crossbody bag and told him the bottle wasn't going to fit inside it. He then asked me to leave my water bottle at the entrance, as they do not allow food or drink in the store. Uhm..... It's water!!?!?!? Reluctantly I set it on a window by the entrance, where other people's SOFT drinks were sitting. Whatever. Then as I was ready to go further into the store and shop, the cashier at the front looked at the DD's plastic bag I had in my hand and asked me if I had a return. I said yes and she didn't say anything back and didn't even look at me. So I just stood there and waited for her to say something. When she didn't, I finally asked if she needed to take my bag. She said yes and took it to put behind the register. Fine. THEN... when I finally did some shopping and was ready to do my exchange, my patience really ran low. I was returning shoes that were $8.99 and buying a shirt that was $8.99. All of a sudden I'm told that my total is 8 cents. Uhhhhh..... What? I told the cashier that it's probably the tax (since I bought the shoes at another DD's in Phoenix) and asked if it could be manually adjusted to make for an even exchange. She said "No. It's just gonna be 8 cents." I then asked if there is a manager that I could talk to who could adjust the tax manually. She asked her coworker (not a manager) at another register to come over. I asked the coworker if the tax could be adjusted. When she said no, I got a little frustrated as I previously worked for a department store for almost 5 years and we would always adjust the tax in these situations to avoid inconveniencing the customer. Ok, it's 8 cents... I know... I should've just let it go. But I didn't and told the cashier I just want my money back. I didn't end up buying the shirt. Her face fell and she didn't even thank me or acknowledge me in any way once the transaction was complete. The point is, the customer service here sucks. From the minute I stepped foot into this store to the minute I was leaving, the staff was unaccommodating and made the shopping experience unpleasant. EWW. Not shopping at this one again. read more

Get some great deals on not only clothes but other stuff like kitchenware. My only problem is they forget to give change back a lot.

I'm not going to leave a bad review of the store , because the situation has already been handled. I am going to instead say how impressed I am with the customer feedback I recently received. After a not so good experience, I took a few minutes to email customer service regarding my experience. Much to my surprise, I received a response, asking for my phone number, also the location of the store so it could be forwarded to the District Manager. The next day, I listened to my VM and again, to my surprise, there was a VM from the District Manager. I chose to call him back, not wanting to cause anyone to loose their job, He'd already talked to the team about the situation. I'm impressed he took time out of his day to call me himself. read more

I like this store. If you had a time, just look around and you may find bargains, it worth to shop here. I heard that owner of Ross also own this store. I bought queen size sheets set for $14, bathroom rug for $2.50, 3 pairs of socks for $2, a pair of sunglasses for $5. Some stuffs are much cheeper than a Walmart, Marshalls and Ross. read more
