I was in the store shopping when I heard a customer speaking Spanish, I then hear a woman's voice say "I don't speak Spanish" the customer proceeded to pay, then I hear the same woman voice say out loud "I don't speak Spanish" I speak what my country speaks and that's English. At this point I'm looking at this the cashier who's name is Jeanette say well she should've learn English she's in my country. DD's do better! There should be no reason why you have such a negative employee handling customers. If you knew the law you'd know that if a customer requires Spanish which is a common language in "her country " you are to get an associate who can speak the language. To me it was just wrong that after the customer left she was talking smack and making racist remarks like she's in my country. Shame on you Jeanette! I recently visited the DD's discount in Covina, Ca. They didn't have as much merchandise as I'm used to seeing at this establishment. Also the music that was playing through the speakers was awful just awful!!! In fact I believe I heard a couple of obscene words in the song. Found everything I needed here. No restrooms sucked though. I was here for over an hour searching for gifts and had to use it. Please rethink this and get one for customers! A little messy and overcrowded with stuff in isles but it's cheaply priced items you can't turn away. Spent under $200 for 10 people! Can't beat that. It's a hit and miss at this store. Sometimes you can find a lot of good bargains and other times you don't find what you are looking for. I've gotten some nice dog beds here for cheap. I get my clothes here. Most of the clothes are under 10 bucks which is nice. I've also gotten bed sheets here. They sometimes carry snacks that you can't find in stores like hello pandas. I was able to do xmas shopping here when I was on a budget. They have some nice things. I usually shop here for birthday or baby shower gifts. They don't let you bring food or drinks inside. Decided to go inside on a whim (after having driven past) & I found exactly what I was looking for, a decorative/functional dish rack that wouldn't cost a lot of money. DD is Ross' ugly little sister. However, with all unbecoming knockoffs, there are some redeeming qualities if you look hard enough. I came here after a delish dinner at my favorite sandwich+strawberry shortcake shop, Danny's, next door - it was time for a walk. My stomach was happy but uncomfortably full from one too many bites of turkey dinner and dessert. To help you visualize DD's, begin by thinking of Ross. Now take away about 1/2 the inventory, and leave anything that has glitter, studs or odd sizes and voila! DD's! It's actually not that bad, but you DO have to love to bargain shop and dig if you want to find some good stuff here. Caught a nice pair of Blowfish boots for $15.99 and snagged a clearance UO-style top for $5.99. Friend picked up one of those iPod covers that look like condoms for iPods for $3.99. Most shoes are about $9.99 or less. Definitely a bargain bin, but there's not enough good stuff to make me come back often. read more

I like going to DDs but I do NOT like the customer service of the workers. Extremely rude with customers. When you go up to pay, they're not even done ringing up your items and they are already calling the next person in line! So now you have someone behind you and a rude cashier rushing you out. The loss prevention person at the door has more customer service then the actual cashiers. It's pretty sad. The "manager" needs to lead by example to start and as a cashier your suppose to hand the receipt to the customer not the customer grabbing their own receipt. read more

I have nothing positive to say about dds I went in yesterday to purchase a gift card and I paid in cash while I was putting my money away with the receipt into an envelope after I had just come from cashing my check. I accidentally placed it down without realizing it and left the store. As soon as I realized it was gone I rushed back to the store. I spoke with loss prevention. She check with the cashier who did not see anything and then she checked at the register I had been at and the cashier said she saw nothing she then spoke with the manager who basically was disinterested and Uncoperative he did not come to speak with me nor did he speak with his cashier in regards to the matter the envelope had over $1000 in it but no one seemed to have known or seen anything they stated they would check the video if I could give them my receipt with the time I stated it was in the envelope so I could not so they basically said sorry there's nothing we can do they did not take my information nor did the manager ever come to speak with me the cashier just kind of shrugged it off and continued working I attempted to contact the corporate office via email and telephone but with no luck the email would not even go through I feel like something was being covered up if a customer comes in losing that much money and last place it was was, was at the register with your cashier you would think you would make an attempt to find out what happened. And the sales associate at the register was rude didn't even say hi to me when she was ringing me up and was talking to other employees throughout the whole transaction. Help! This store needs lots of help. The cashiers are clueless and the security guard is no help. I wandered into three possible lines to pay for my merchandise and each time i was the only one in line. The first line i was in followed the posted line. I stumbled upon DD's when I came out of neighboring CVS. I didn't know what it was and since I had plenty of time left for my lunch break, I decided to go inside. It's similar to Ross, but on a lower level than Ross. I came here right as I was moving into our new home with my husband, so I went straight for their home goods section. I bought our paper towel holder, bath tub mat, drinking glasses, and beer glasses. Everything is affordable and cheap even. As far as finding good quality items, you just have to look hard. We still use our drinking and beer glasses. They sell brand names stocks like Libbey, The Cellar, Martha Stewart, and Better Homes. I knocked off two stars because the aisles are unorganized and items are placed in aisles they don't belong. read more

I want everyone to know that I love going to DD's, but my biggest problem always is that the entire organization from DDs does not let the customers utilize the restroom. How can that be possible when we know they have a restroom, even Goodwill lets there customers use the restroom room! I honestly don't get it, last time I was there my granddaughter had an accident because they didn't let her use the restroom at DDs... My family went shopping at this store and waited 30 minutes in line to get their transaction all completed. Register associate informed them that they will do debit and credit first, my family were already the first in line waiting to exchange items and purchased more in cash but this person, targeted and discriminated them. Being first in line they waited 30 minutes after other customers were helped. To come find out the register associate was the store manager named Wendy. This is very disappointing on how she treated her customers. She needs to attend a customer service training or DD's need to hire competent people specially in management.
