Left my semi-auto handgun with their gunsmith for what should have been a simple fix. Waited for over a month for some word of progress. Called, left message and no call back. When to the shop for an update. Gunsmith was not in. Was contacted by a concerned salesman that gunsmith couldn't find the missing part and told me where I would likely find the part. Picked up my gun knowing I will never return to this store and spread the word that it may be a good gun store, but one with a surly, customer-unfriendly, and unprofessional gunsmith. read more

I used to enjoy going into DCF guns. However, today my experience was far worse then horrible. I took a firearm in to have a rear sight changed on my XDS (I understand it's a little more difficult on these weapons.) I was quoted a price to change the rear sight. Half a job... during our wait, A dog named Lana in the checkout area growled and jumped at my seven-year-old boy. This scare freaked him out so bad, he turned white - No One Acknowledged The VIOLENT outburst by this animal - my son loves dogs but said, "I never want to go in there again. After that, the price changed (more expensive) for the job I was asking for. Luckily they had not already begun removing the sight. Now I am on my way to triple J armory in Littleton. They said "go ahead and bring it in and we will take care of you." That's the kind of service I'm looking for. Not overpriced products and overpriced gun smithing. I will never go back to DCF guns. Update: because of my horrible experience at DCF, Triple J Armory in Littleton changed the sight at NO CHARGE. Go there! It's not that much further! read more

DCF has been a great place for me and my wife since the first time we walked in. The staff members are knowledgeable about the products they have on hand and they are willing to try to find any firearm that you are looking for. They have helped us on several occasions when we have encountered firearm dis-assembly issues for no charge. We head to the range there a few times each week after work and the range is well maintained and fun to use (even if it is short). We have rented guns on several occasions and the ability to shoot a firearm before buying it is wonderful. Check out their 10 for $10 deal, it is a great way to try something to see if you would enjoy shooting it on a regular basis. They also offer classes such as concealed carry on a regular basis and the instructor is very good. I have purchased multiple firearms from them and though they may not have the cheapest prices the service more than makes up for it. After my latest purchase the sales staff took the time to help me learn the firearm, adjust the sights, and learn a good stance for maintaining accuracy. There have been a few times where DCF couldn't help me with my specific needs or questions but they know other local people and business and can point you in the right direction. I have recommended DCF to several friends and family members and will continue to do so in the future. read more

I will start this by saying yes, I'm female.. Yes, I wear stilettos and don't look like I came straight from the mountains. But don't let my exterior fool you. I am a born and raised Alaskan who shot my first big game at the age of nine. My dad was an arms dealer & taxidermist before deciding to join the fire dept. I am also an avid fisherman. I moved to Colorado in January and had some of my dad's friends tell me about this store. I went in once and was treated beyond poorly. Nobody wanted to talk to me nor help. When I would go out of my way to approach they would completely disregard me, and not want to give me the time of day. Seriously, screw these guys. I would also like to note that the items I did manage to see were overpriced. Anyone who is willing to pay the prices they ask for certain accessories, or new/used guns is an idiot. But I suppose, that is their right. I now take my business elsewhere where it is actually appreciated. read more

Disappointed. Showed up at 0958, watched employee open security gate at 0959, tried the front door at 1002 but still locked. Was told the front door was on a timer, but employees continued messing around in the back in full view of us standing at the front. Left for their non-interest in coming to the front. Poor image guys. Will do business elsewhere. Doesn't seem to be an issue with Centennial Guns. Andrew and the owner were interested in working with me while the first review on Yelp was posted. Removed in a good faith effort now no communication from either since. That speaks volumes, so I'm re-posting our unfortunate experience. read more

Love, Love LOVE this place. I shoot there, take classes, and have bought weapons and ammo and accessories there. The people are friendly and helpful. No one tries to just sell a weapon, they want you to be happy. Wednesdays women shoot free but it's worth the money to just join and shoot anytime you want--you won't be sorry. I took an older Springfield 1903-A3 30-06 rifle in to have the safety replaced. After repair, the gun had a safety that was very cumbersome to operate and interfered with the mounted scope. In addition, it was noisy and required two hands to operate the safety. Not good for a hunting rifle. I will take this gun to another gunsmith to see if they can fix it right. read more

On February 4th of 2018 I walked into DCF guns in castle rock Colorado with the desire to use their shooting range. I often travel to castle rock and was excited that there was a shooting range in close proximity to my business there. From the moment I entered the store I felt unwelcome and the eyes of the clerk beaded on me. I admit that I was a minority and wearing a hooded jacket in a not the most diverse of towns so I ignored it and politely asked the clerk if there were any available spots in their range. He stuttered his words and told me to hold on while he went to go check. I replied okay and began to browse their selection while he was away. When he returned he told me there was no room but continued the conversation by stating that even if there was any room he wouldn't let me shoot because I had a strong odor of marijuana on me. I politely asked what he was referring to again because i was in shock. I told him I don't smoke that stuff and he was wrong. He told me that he had 3 brothers that smoked marijuana and he knew what it smelled like. I told him to get a manager and he did. He told his manager that I smelled of marijuana and for him to smell me. His manager smelled me then looked him then back at me and said yes then tried to walk away. I told them they were wrong and told them they could call a cop for a real opinion. They said no, so I proceeded to leave and turn around to take their picture to leave a review. While i was typing the review in my car the manager approached me and said they would call the cops for a professional opinion if I wanted and I replied yes. We entered the store and I waited at the front while he procrastinated for 5 minutes then called. While i waited I heard him tell 2 customers at the counter I was a pot head. At this point I am very upset so I walked out and stood out front for about 10 more minutes until the cops arrived. When the cops arrived I gave them my name for them to run and my side of the story. They smelled me and said I didn't smell like marijuana and told the employees I didn't either. The manager then attempted to offer me a free session at their range through the cop and and politely told the officer I wouldn't accept that and they can keep it because I would never set foot in their store again. After I left I finished my review by telling my story and posted it to Google maps. Who I can only assume was the owner because he claimed to be, Josh, gave me a very textbook reply through email. I was going to drop the subject, the next morning I was telling my coworkers of my experience and went to show them my review only to find it deleted. That act angered my even more. After 3 weeks I still feel just as embarrassed and discriminated as I did that day so I am leaving a review on every review site I can. When they read it hopefully they remember that I am the man that waited patient for the cops to arrive just to show my resolve in calling their actions out. read more

I can't say anything bad about DCF. My wife and I bought memberships in July and have been satisfied with our visits there. The staff is very knowledgeable and provides excellent hospitality. I had the opportunity to take my CCW class there and was very impressed with the content and the Sim Tech simulator. Erin, DCF's lead instructor was very knowledgeable and provided feedback to all when we did the simulated shooting and live fire. Most recently I rented out the range after close when family was in town over the Thanksgiving holiday. I was referred to Josh, the owner to work out scheduling. Once I emailed him I received a timely reply and we worked out the logistics. It ended up being 11 of us and we had a great time! We ended up renting a couple of their automatic weapons in addition to what we brought. DCF has a plethora of firearms for rental, you will not be disappointed! As for the range, it is probably the nicest and cleanest range I have ever shot at. If you are looking for a great place to shoot, this is the place! read more

Apologies for the book I'm about to write. But it's a good read. My experience with DCF is limited due to their lack of customer service. The facilities are wonderful, and they have a pretty nice selection, but I found myself opening the glass cases and pulling guns off the rack myself while the "staff" was consumed with talking to each other about their collections. The one guy that came over after a while and acknowledged me asked me what I was looking for then proceeded to show me something that was completely different explaining "I only buy guns that I would take into Hell" and "I have no use for target guns and plinking, everything has to be combat ready". Great for him, but since I don't plan on going to Hell anytime soon, I was looking for a target gun. Now, I generally don't let a bad apple spoil the bunch, so I thought I'd try again. I decided to sell one of my guns there. And order another one. Consignment is nothing new to me, so I knew what was going on. We filled out the paperwork and the guy took my paperwork and gun to the back. Then I had to track him down again to order a pistol and get a copy of my paperwork. When I asked for the paperwork he balked, told me I can't have a copy. Since it's a CONTRACT that I signed legally he is OBLIGATED to give me a copy. Finally got the copy and ordered the new gun. A week later I called and asked if mine had sold, nope, asked if my order was in, yup. Told him I'd be in to pick it up two days later. Got there, they sold it to someone else told me they'd have it there Tuesday and they'd call me. Friday was there, no call. So I called back. They couldn't tell if it was ordered, but they said my gun sold and I'd get a check in 30 days. I called 5280 Armory and they had what I wanted in stock. They got my business. I wish that was all, but it wasn't. After 33 days I called to see where my money was. They told me my gun didn't sell. I told him to check again and gave him the serial number. He said his mistake, it sold a month ago and my check would be there soon. Okay. 3 weeks later no check. I called AGAIN. Told me it should be out soon. Finally, 63 days later I got my check. 63 days. I have to wonder how long it would have taken if I hadn't called. Hopefully this helps you. read more

Top notch place. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and put in a lot of effort. The indoor range is excellent. I don't own a gun and shot for recreation occasionally. Each time I have gone to DCF guns I have come away with tons of information and a smile on my face. read more

Stopped in to check out some suppressors. As I was checking them out in the case, Andrew came over to ask if I had any questions. I told him what I was thinking about and he help guide me to my final choice. He actually paid attention to what I was saying I wanted in the suppressor. He didn't just tell me to buy the expensive one. I had lots of questions about each one and he answered all of them. Now to play the waiting game but at least they have a range to use it on-site. read more

My wife was shopping at the outlet malls, so I decided to spend my time shopping for a new tactical shotgun. Shop was laid out nice and I spotted the shotgun I wanted to purchase within seconds. There were two employees, both were taking care of customers. One was doing an amazing job helping a lady purchase a handgun; extremely patient with her and her questions. The other was ringing up another customer, which turned into a 20 minute discussion on how much the area had changed. I was never given a "Be right with you." Or "Let me finish up with this customer." Or "Welcome to our shop." I looked around for 20 minutes hoping to purchase a shotgun, I lost patience and left. I'll purchase the shotgun on our way back home in Colorado Springs. I wouldn't even give them one star, but the store was a nice looking well stocked shop. read more

I never saw a gun up close until I was 19 years old and, even then, it was unloaded. Many users later, I married a gun owner. Like most responsible gun owners, my husband wanted me to learn to shoot the guns kept in the house, so I gave it a try. Over the years, I've gone to several different ranges and gun stores and always left feeling worse than I did going in. Eventually, I was so defeated by the machismo men who treated me like I was just a stupid little woman that I just stopped going. My husband continued searching for a place that I would feel comfortable and came upon DCF. He convinced me to just go into the store (a big feat for me) and check it out. Right away, the cleanliness and good lighting made me feel a little more at ease. Everyone who we've met there has been welcoming and VERY respectful of me and my needs. No one has ever judged my inexperience or anxiety. Today I worked up the nerve to try shooting there and it was great! For the first time ever I was able to shoot the target and actually enjoyed myself. I can't thank DCF enough for making me feel comfortable enough to help me begin to overcome my fears. read more

Dropped off a shot gun barrel with the gunsmithing folks. Minor repair since the barrel sight/bead had fallen out and just needed a replacement. They said they would call with a quote and info on the repair but I never heard a peep from them. Called the shop several times over the next few weeks to get an update...but the Gunsmith voicemail box was full each time, was unable to leave a message. Finally after 4 weeks I went back in only to find no-one working the gunsmith dept that day. Other shop folks stepped in found my repair, found my order it in the system and said they would have Tyler call me when he got in. Again...nothing but crickets. After two more weeks of silence and the inability to leave a message, I went back into the shop and retrieved my barrel to take it someplace else. I was told he had done some research to find the replacement but came up empty. I seriously doubt they even lifted a finger since I was able to find the replacement with about 10-15min of searching on line. I try in every way to support local businesses... but 6 weeks without any form of contact or response to my inquiry's (really). When they cannot get off the dime and reasonably service the customer, I have to take my business elsewhere. Everyone there are very nice and pleasant, they have always been very friendly when I am in the shop. But this experience kinda killed it for me with DCF guns. read more
