My favorite part of the whole store is there are a few walls lined with guns that you can hold and feel in your hands without having to talk to an employee so you can do this all on your own will. The only shop in town and they know it. Over priced firearms and ammo compared to competitors in the county. I would only use them for the FFL aspect of purchasing an online firearm and shipped to DCF but they are still 10-15 dollars more than others. If your not a member you better call as you might not get a lane. If you are not a member you will get kicked from a range lane after an hour. The membership is not worth it. The staff went to www.gunbroker.com and quoted me almost double the price plus 20%. As for ammo the price your establishment has is double the price of www.sgammo.com. Horrible experience. We walked in to purchase several handguns, and they were not following state mandated COVID guidelines. Nobody was wearing a mask (except for us) and there was not enough space to social distance. The sign on the door instructed you to sign in, but there was no place to sign in. I took my kids to the essential gun safety class with Patch. What a great experience! I have covered gun safety with my kids, and so has their grandfather, as well as another friend. We've discussed gun safety while shooting too, but teaching kids to be safe around guns is a long process, and thanks to Patch being incredibly patient with them they learned and have continued their journey. Patch answered a few of my questions also, and we all left knowing more. I've been in the store a few times, and the staff has always been friendly and laid back. They let me browse, but answered all the questions I had. If I want to see a gun they showed it to me, but there was no pressure to buy. I think they know that buying a gun is a serious decision, and it can take several visits before you know what you want. I don't know if they're more expensive than the big stores or not, but I'll always pay a little more to keep small shops like this open. You'll never get the service you need at a big store like you'll get at a place like this. read more

I have now taken two courses through DCF; my conceal carry course and a Defensive Pistol course. Patch, with the help of Bubz and Tyler in the second course, instructed these classes. They were both great. The second class provided hands on learning and massive amounts of technique tailored to my person weapon use and skill level. I never felt nervous or that the instructors found me annoying (considering I was the most unskilled person in the room). I will definitely be taking more classes with Patch and Bubz and will be suggesting them to everyone I know. I very much look forward to my next class. read more

My son and I stopped in for some range time and enjoyed our experience!! The store and range were clean, brightly lit, and modern. There were lots of stock to look at and plenty to buy, lol. We are non-members but were able to get a lane quickly and the staff were very pleasant and professional. I thought the range fees were comparable to most places nowadays and we had a good time. I have to say we will be back and will bump my review to 5 stars if our experience is as good as this time. It was very good to see that these folks understand that good customer service and professionalism make a good experience great and will reap return customers, which we will be. Dropped my Beretta O/U off to have the recoil pad replaced. They told me it would be a month or so since their current gunsmith was on the way out and a new one coming into their shop. No problem, I told them they could keep the shotgun until it was completed, I was in no hurry. 2.5 months later I received a VM stating I could pick my shotgun up, but they were unable to put a new recoil pad on, and the charge would be $35 for "research". I arrived at the shop and asked for an explanation. It turns out they did not have to proper equipment to complete the task - a grinder/sander. I asked why it took 2.5 months to figure this out and got nothing but crickets. They did however waive the $35 research fee, again, no one had any idea why the fee would be charged without the job being completed. On the flip side, everyone has always been pleasant and knowledgable regarding their inventory. But geez, for something like this to slip through the cracks is unacceptable when we are dealing with firearms. read more

I've been really happy dealing with DCF. I went down looking for a .22 for the kids to learn on and something for me to carry. Each time I was there the employees I dealt with were friendly and gave me tons of information. They have a great selection and even have a range at the store so I was able to rent and try some guns out. I finally settled on firearm (XDS 9mm). I'm happy with the gun so far and was even happier when I got a call from DCF letting me know there was a recall - they gave me all the information I needed to be able to look up my gun and find out if I needed to send it back or not. I will definitely continue to visit DCF even though there a few other stores nearer to my house. read more

Hunter in sales is awesome!! Good dude. However, watch out if you buy a B&T product.... they will charge an extra 120 bucks onto the price of the gun to pay their "gunsmith" for installing a brace.... but, they won't tell you until you check out. Something that could be easily done by any competent person, not a gunsmith. Pretty upsetting they do stuff like this. Have never seen this in my life. Wont be heading back. read more

I've purchased a few items from them before and was happy. I've also had an FFL transfer to/through them for a gun I purchased and that went flawlessly. Recently, I tried out the range for the first time and that too was a great experience. I've been to a few other local indoor ranges and the range here at DCFA was far from crowded. Their hourly rate is the same as the other ranges. Their proximity to where I live makes them my first choice when I want to go shooting indoors. A few items I have to criticize however are: - the targets can hang too low on the overhead supports, meaning that at certain distances or heights of shooters your rounds are hitting the floor instead of the back stops when you are aiming at the bottom half of the target so be sure to mount your targets high up on the cardboard frames. - the size of the targets they have for sale are 12" x 18" (by Dirty Bird) which is ok for horsing around, but for a better more accurate "training experience" a realistic silhouette sized target (23" x 45") is preferred. If you prefer the larger more realistic targets it's BYOT. read more

Had high hopes for this place and was actually prepared to buy a membership but unfortunately decided against it because they do not allow shotguns. Evidently some folks could not follow the rules and, in the words of the staff, "a few ruined it for all". I have to admit I hate that attitude because you should always punish the offenders rather than hold it against everyone. I understand the reasoning and the safety concerns but again I don't like punishing everyone for the sins of a few. In the end I just could not justify a membership if I am unable to train on all the firearms I own. The retail store selection and staff are top-notch tho. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Facilities are nice and clean. if you are not wanting to shoot shotguns you can't go wrong checking them out. Rental gun selection is amazing and this is a good place to go to "try before you buy". Also, the membership for military members is a vey good deal right now. read more

DCF Guns is my one stop gun shop. Just the other day I went in and asked them if they could customize a Sig P238 for me and order a rare Colt 45. Not only were they efficient in answering my questions, eager to begin the projects but, they educated me on the entire process. As a female shooter, I am very particular about where I shoot, where I buy my equipment, and of the knowledge & training I receive. DCF has always done an outstanding job making me feel comfortable, answering my many questions and providing training services that are not only packed full of knowledge but are fun and exciting. I have had gun smithing done on multiple firearms, both Tyler and Bubs are fantastic, training classes, Patch is awesome, this guy is amazing, and really cares about teaching. One thing I really like is a comfortable place, you go in and you don't feel like it get in and get out. I have noticed after the last couple of years, a lot of gun shops, you dont feel like you can go in and hang out, here you can, your not rushed. While DCF may be on the steeper end as far as pricing goes, I would highly recommend investing in a membership. Among other things, the two biggest benefits are the range use and 1 free class. The range is available to any and all. With a membership, you don't pay any walk in fees and free semi auto and pistols. Members don't get kicked out of the range during rush times. Last month I purchased my first firearm through DCF and had a great experience. Hunter was terrific to work with! He was very knowledgeable and patient as he explained the differences between the brands and calibers that we were considering. We felt very comfortable with him and with the purchase we ultimately made. Two of our adult children have purchased through DCF in the past and had highly recommended DCF, now I understand why! They are very professional, have great customer service, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody. Nothing but good things to say about DCF. Good firearm selection, excellent training classes available, and a SAFE range. That last part is especially important. You can try out most guns on the range before you buy them, saving you the trouble of buying a gun only to realize later that you don't want it. They're also a full service suppressor dealer. I purchased my suppressor earlier this year before the new ATF rules went into effect. While other area dealers were out of stock, DCF had exactly what I had my eye on. Since DCF has a full range, I got to use my suppressor on the range while waiting for ATF approval to take it home, making the wait an absolute breeze. I was there to shoot at the range for the first time. I am by no means an expert shooter but I am a certified instructor and pride myself on safety. I like to be in a safe place when shooting but my first and maybe last experience here was a little unsettling. First, I did not see a range safety officer on duty. Then the next thing I saw was a customer walk out of a shooting bay with a pistol in hand and not pointed in a safe direction. To be fair, I believe that the slide was locked back but this location and anyone who has ever shot at any range anywhere would know that this is very bad and is against range rules and gun safety rules. I may never come back to this range but I wanted to make it known to management that more attention needs to be paid while people are on the range to ensure that no one gets hurt in the future. I went to DCF Guns on 5-3-19, and was inundated by sales people. I was looking for 9mm conceal carry handgun. I did my research on what I thought would be a good fit for me, price was very reasonable at 269.00. However, after holding or should I say attempting to hold the weapon my hand was too big for the grip. I pointed it out to one of the two sale people there, and in steps another sales person. He asked what my price point was and I told him under 500.00. Not ONCE did he show me anything below 650.00! He tried to push me into a .45 semi automatic which I had just sold because it was too much gun for me. Once I stated that no matter what gun I were to purchase, I would want to do more research before I were to purchase any gun. As soon as I had made the statement, all sales people left, and I walked out the door. If you like high sales pressure great place to be pushed into something you probably don't want and you can forget about anyone there paying any attention to your price range. They will push you so hard you will wonder why you even went there. Horrible experience, I will never go back even to use the range. read more

I have been to 6 Firearm shops in Douglas County and DCF is the most expensive (ammo, firearms, and gear). Staff is not on the same page and I got 3 different answers on the membership. You pay the same price whether you need the training they offer or not. Facility is clean, comfortable, and does not smell like gun powder. DCF is a nice gun store, but honestly the service is very hit or miss. I am a member and have purchased several guns there, but the last few times I've been in looking for some accessories, I was completely ignored. I noticed a lot of new faces these past few times, so maybe they just need better training in customer service. Its not enough to just know about guns. As others have mentioned, there is often an attitude of superiority from the staff. Keep in mind guys that you too were once newbies to guns and probably asked stupid questions yourself. Great folks at DCF. The entire staff from the owners on down are super nice, friendly and very knowledgeable with out being cocky. I've now had my membership for a while and I'm never hurried and they are always quick to help me or my family and friends. The range is great and after hours the 1st & 3rd Tuesday's are tactical Tuesdays. SUPER FUN and you really learn a lot. The gunsmith Tyler is awesome and has no ego. I see him helping folks all the time with advice for free. He's done a bunch of work on my firearms and it's all been great. I wish I knew about them sooner. That would've saved me a ton of money in the mistakes that I've made trying to get firearms or do things to them. read more
