Frozen burger
Anjelle T.

Used to love to come here to get burgers but now you might as well go across the street to Burger King because it's just a typical frozen Sysco burger now. So disappointing. Would only suggest getting food from here if you're drunk. Also, no point in saying how you want it cooked because it will just come out grey and well done like a fast food place.

I've been going here since 2008 it's amazing I will always frequent the bar as long as they allow me to it smells nice and is always clean my only complaint is their are never any 21 to 30 years in the place that's my only one other then that I give them a solid 7 outta 10 for good flavors and good service

Large v. Small

On my third trip to NOLA, I had to partake in the drive-through daiquiri experience. The Large is massive and was pretty damn strong (although we got an extra shot too..for only $1!). It cost something like $7 bucks for a Large - very affordable. I had a strawberry banana which was pretty good but not amazing. The alcohol kind of overpowered the flavor. My friend's Banana Banshee however....was AWESOME. So I definitely recommend that flavor. Like many people that visit NOLA, we stayed in the French Quarter. Getting a cab here and back seemed very inefficient. So we asked the cab driver to stop here en route to the French Quarter from the airport! It's actually on the way so it didn't cost us much extra. Definitely a great way to start a vacation - highly recommended.

The place is nice and the bartender was cool... The only thing that I hated was that they allowed SMOKING inside the building. This will definitely keep me away. I actually thought smoking was banned in public enclosed places. DBC place is cool for Saints and LSU but get rid of the smoking inside. I hated that I left out smelling like tobacco.

This place is fantastic. They serve delicious daiquiris and food if you are looking for something to munch. We stopped in a little later on a Saturday night and I was tired of drinking beer, so I got a margarita daiquiri. It was really good and actually tasted closer to a margarita than other shops that just taste like a mix. I know that this was from a mix too, but it had more flavor than other spots. The bartender was friendly and made us feel welcome. I'm sure smoking is allowed since it's JP, but I didn't notice a smokey smell in the place, which puts it at the top of my "cool" list.

Are you kidding me, alcohol daiquiri drive thru? SERIOUS? That would NEVER exist in Cali! They say they leave the top of the straw wrapper on so technically they're not promoting drinking and driving. A supposed loop hole in the system. As I sat in this college style bar, I noticed that the drive thru got all the action. Car after car pulled up. Inside the place it was pretty dead. A few people on the video pokers, drunk couples trying to play the music box, empty ping pong and dart boards sit awaiting usage. There are plenty of flat screens all over the interior that you can't miss your favorite team's highlight. Plenty of fruity of daiquiris to try. The banana flavored one was surprisingly the best one for me. Not a fan of the egg nog and the Pina Colada was okay. I'm still tripping out on the alcohol drive thru service (I think it's the norm around these parts).

Wed. Steak night.

So... I'm a Tavern on Vets steak fan, but hubby and I decided to try the steak here. Wednesday's the steak is cheaper at $15. We were thoroughly surprised. The steak was delicious. They don't use Genes like Tavern, but they do put real garlic butter on top. Those garlic pieces make this steak. It's also a bigger steak, but has more fat pieces. So thumbs up for the steak. Don't like that it's $15 only on Wed. It's $18 or $19 the other days. Tavern still wins for best steak at best price. I also had the chili cheese tots and those had real cheese! I hate the processed cheese some places use. They were great too. The daquiris are strong and it's only $1 to add a shot, which I did. :) only needed 1 drink all night. They also have a couch to lounge and sit and chat or watch tv or eat like your at home. Thought that was cool. And they have this game where you try to fit the ring around the hook. You'll have to see it. Kept is pretty entertained. They have ping pong table and gaming systems. Cool place to hang.

Ummm what can you say about a Drive Thru Bar??!! This is the greatest idea since sliced bread. My friends and I, who all are from states that would never allow this to happen, all came here in the car just to say we tried it. All the Daiquiris were fantastic. I got the Island Citrus and it was amazing. Drinks were strong and cold (good cause its so humid in NOLA). You can even get a Jack & Coke in a to go cup! The drinks were strong enough without getting an extra shot. This place puts Fat Tuesdays in Vegas to shame. Better yet they have happy hour and the prices ranged from 5 bucks to 7 bucks at the most! If you've never ordered your booze to go, come here and try it, you wont be disapointed!

Saw Daiquiri Bay Cafe on Drinking Made Easy and when I was recently in LA, had to try out the place... How cool: Drive up to the window, order alcohol, and drive away. What a concept! Would highly recommend anyone coming here just for the experience alone. Fantastic! And the drinks were really, really good too. Great flavors.

This was one of the highlights of my visit to NOLA. Drive thru Daiquiri Bar?!?! This place is AWESOME!!!!! You would NEVER EVER see one of these in Los Angeles! I tried the Island Citrus Daiquiri and also the Strawberry Banana one! Both were yummy and STRONG!!!! I can't wait to visit my friends again in NOLA and have many daiquiri's

There's a decent sized parking lot here and the interior and outside grounds are very well kept. We chose to sit outside, plenty of seating with shade for most. Starting off with shrimp toast and heirloom tomatoes was a good start to our lunch experience. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my wife got the fresh pasta. We were blown away by both dishes. Juicy chicken with peppers on ciabatta bread and fries to write home about. The pasta was in pesto that seemed freshly made and the grilled chicken thighs we added was fantastic. Thoroughly impressed with the food here but only second to our waiter as far as the total experience. It was a bearded young gentleman, I didn't catch his name but he took care of us and was very attentive. Completely impressed with this establishment and I'd recommend any and all to check this place out.

This building might be considered by some a shack, and it certainly is a bar. However, it also serves up some amazing food. It's historic inside as well as outside, having classic signs, posters, and other New Orleans memorabilia displayed on virtually every surface, including the ceilings. Also noteworthy are their barstools, which have amusing legs attached. The interior is rather dark, even in the middle of the day, but don't let this deter you. Your eyes will quickly adjust. This might be an advantage if your visit is to engage in day-drinking! However, if your visit is to eat, first look for the board displaying the Daily Special. These are a great choice and may include things not normally on the menu. Variety is the spice of life and all... However, the menu is adequate for most any purpose. There are a great variety of sandwiches, wraps, salads, plates, and appetizers! I like that the sandwiches can be customized with sides. One can swap out regular fries for sweet potato fries, or there are really great and crispy tater tots! One can even opt for a bowl of gumbo or soup! Some of these changes involve a slight up-charge, but are worth it. Speaking of the soups and gumbos, these are really great choices. I happened to be there when French Onion Soup was part of the daily special, and it was amazing! Had a great big toasty chuck of bread with cheese on top, and the soup was rich and delicious. Their gumbo is a substantial choice, with great and deep flavors. I also recommend their BLT, which pairs well with a bowl of soup. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful and the prices are fair. This place is an experience that one should have while in the area. It's definitely a place you'll want to return to!

It is a large space with a long bar as you walk in. When I went, the host/tess was located all the way inside the restaurant, so you walk the length of the restaurant to be greeted and seated by the host. I made my way down to her and she seated me right away. I asked for a water and an Irish coffee. She was not sure they had the glassware for an Irish coffee, but she checked with the bartender. And he was able to conjure up something as I was the first person to ask for one. I was a little surprised by that since they offer Irish breakfasts, but either way, I was very appreciative of his going above and beyond for me to make it work. He even asked which whiskey I wanted and had to search for some brown sugar for me. Very accommodating. The Irish breakfast came out and it was so good. The chef came out to speak with me too, I let him know I loved everything but the beans. He mentioned he was trying it out, as it is authentic, but knows it could be tweaked. I did love the marmalade, homemade marmalade on the dish, so good! I enjoyed the sausage - bangers and pudding - as well. So authentic and good! I felt like I was back in Ireland. Just needed some sheep to bahhh by. I do wish the hostess/waitress would have checked in on me more, my water was never refilled and I needed napkins as I had sticky fingers from that amazing marmalade jam. I plan to come back and bring some friends or out of friends, as I miss my Peppermill and this restaurant, I find, is a pretty good replacement - with Irish coffees and all. And proceeds go towards charity. How great is that! I hope they made the Irish coffee a permanent option on the menu before I come back!
