I was pretty disappointed when I went to DB nails these last few weeks. I had left due to the nails not staying on my nails for more than a week when normally nails can last 2-3 weeks then went to an over priced place and then I figured I try this place again. Well the older lady didn't like that I tried somewhere else. She kept making passive aggressive comments about me to me. And then clipped one side of my nail way too much making my acrylic nail look crooked. When I mentioned this to her she decided to blame my fingers and say they were crooked when they aren't. There is only one finger that I think is crooked and not to mention I had never heard this excuse from any other nail salon I had gone to. I had asked her to fix it multiple time and she kept getting more and more aggravated. She finally fixed my nail to my liking. When we had finally finished I told her thank you and to have a great day and she looked at me and walked away. I was so shocked by this because I am assuming she was the manager and I had never had a manager act so childish. Then when i went to pay I tried to tell her thank you again and she continued to say nothing as she walked back to another client that she messed their nails up and treated her rudely as well. I was a regular here but these past few visits have been horrible! The nail techs are argumentative and don't listen to you. They do nothing to protect your nails and they do not care about whether or not you like your nails. My nails looked horrible when she finished and I took them off immediately. I came to this nail spa after recommended by a friend and I did not have a good experience. I sat down and someone started on my nails and then left to do someone else. I sat there for 15 minutes until I got moved to a different chair to have someone else do them. The man doing my nails cut my skin on three different occasions, which of two I drew blood. He then proceeded to file over the cuts... My nails were dipped so many times so they are very thick and one of them is angled downward. When he was done I went to checkout and he told me the total was $55 and I still tipped so it came out to $60. I think that is a little overpriced for an average to below average job. I'm not sure if I had a rare experience or if this is common at this nail salon, but I was extremely unsatisfied and don't think I will be returning in the future. read more

I was treated so badly by the nail techs here. I could clearly hear them talking badly about me (in Vietnamese), which was confirmed by several native speakers who were present. In particular, the chubby blonde girl with the messy bun at the last table on the right and the fake-Gucci and glasses wearing boy at the first table on the right as you walk in. I tried to get a fill of all one color and had one broken nail. After asking the tech to change the repaired tip to the matching one (straight, coffin-shaped), he got mad, ripped it off, burnt me, made me bleed, and painfully ground down every other nail before telling me he couldn't help me. He proceeded to say that he was the only person in the shop able to do acrylic (which he backtracked on and changed to say that I was just "too difficult and miserable" to help). He then told me to sit and wait for someone else, which I did, and they sat 3 others before they told me that no one would finish my now paper-thin and bleeding nails. Went yesterday because I decided I wanted to try somewhere other than my usual place for a pedi. The paint job wasn't bad but I really felt like the whole experience was rushed. They didn't really exfoliate my feet very well and the price was practically double for where I normally go and they give full attention. Wasn't really worth my money tbh. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I rarely get my nails done but it's my 21st bday and I thought I would treat myself and made an appointment to get acrylics and then proceeded to wait almost 45 minutes after my appointment for them to get to me. I then showed them a reference pic of the French tips I wanted and the nude/pink acrylic they used was wayyy to dark for me (like orange), and when I made a comment he said it was just the lighting so I went along with it. After I left I realized a few were painted crooked and the nude was nothing like the picture I showed and I had oomph loompa nails, so I went back the next day and asked them to redo them. The lady working agreed they were not like the picture and said she would fix them (me thinking that = no charge since I already paid $70 for them) by just painting them solid purple. When I went to leave she said I owed $30 more for her fixing them when they never even mentioned I would have to pay when I came back (and they legit just painted over them)! I was so upset and cried in my car for like 30 minutes bc I still don't have the nails I wanted for my birthday and paid $100 for them. Just had the WORST pedicure here. I read some reviews before submitting mine and found more than one person who mentioned a YOUNG, careless boy that they have working here. He cut all my nails too short and all at different lengths. He rounded them all WAY too much and again, they all look different from each other. He didn't polish completely the little bit of toenail he left me. He tried to file my actual TOE down trying to [over]round my big toenail. I finally had to ask him to stop since I was pretty sure I was about to start bleeding. When he finished, he left without asking if I like them or anything and never came back to tell me I was "dry" and could leave. He never offered me water or anything to drink. I was tempted to walk out and not pay but I didn't want to be mean. In hindsight, I'm mad at myself for even paying but I guess I can call it a lesson learned. I put my shoes back on as soon as I got to my car because I'm going to have to repaint everything myself when I get home. read more

Went and got a pedicure and full set/dip powder. Absolutely loved my nails, very quick, and very high quality. However, the girl that did my pedicure dug too deep under my nail and cut me, which led to an infection! Overall will not be returning, as cleanliness is something I can not compromise!! This place is a bit over priced and I noticed that they rush when doing your nails, I don't like that. The hand massages they give are nice but the price isn't worth it too me. I believe a manicure should last for a couple days at least, it didn't take long for my nails to chip. read more

Hello! I wanted to share my experience at D B Nails and Spa from earlier today. I am extremely disappointed. My friends and I came for pedicures and our experience started with being seated right away, but we sat in the chairs for an hour and waited with our feet in cold water. We were not aware of the wait, and they didn't communicate that there would even be a delay. Secondly, when the lady came to start my pedicure, she kept repeating that my toes were "weird and disgusting" and that the shape of my toe nails would make her job harder. In addition, she over cut my cuticles and made my toe bleed. I don't appreciate this level of communication and the rudeness I experienced today. I would not recommend this nail spa. I went a week ago to this nail salon because of its great location to my apartments. When I walked in a was not greeted right away nor did I feel like a priority. I was one of three customers and they still managed to avoid helping us. In the middle of getting my acrylics done the lady that was working on me left and a man came to take her place! The entire experience was very unprofessional and felt very rushed! I got them done last Wednesday and they already look like they're coming off! Ill never be coming back again, the only reason I thought about giving it two stars was because of the initial look of my nails were perfect! But they don't hold up well. Ohhh the entire time I was with the first nail lady she kept telling me she couldn't do pink and white acrylics unless I paid for solar nails and that if I wanted acrylics I could only get white tips white a while acrylic over it that appears nude once it dries! As soon as you get in the place you'll get greeted.. Not. You'll have to tell what you need, be ignored for a couple of minutes until they tossed a coin and decided who will have the non pleasure of taking care of you. This is my favorite nail salon to go to, I've gotten my nails done by Katie and Jeremy and both of them do a fantastic job. The customer service is great, we always have good conversation while they do my nails. The last time I went, I showed Jeremy a picture of what I wanted and he did them better than what I expected! And he was was gentle with the tools, unlike some places I've gone where they tear up the skin around my nails. read more

This place is a joke. Most unprofessional nail salon I've ever been to. I had a very young kid do my pedicure yesterday and he cut the absolute bejeezus out of my foot. He paid no regard to this and made me put my feet back in the gross bloody water after I got cut- and in a paraffin bath! He made a big deal about it like I was being a drama queen while I was bleeding profusely. Then, after he finished my nail polish, a lady who worked there looked at my feet, immediately removed my nail polish and repainted my toes. I really appreciated this and it was very nice of her, but I'd never go back. If I hadn't been with a friend, I would have refused to pay the $35 for this. Never ever going back. I arrived Friday afternoon at DB Nails with some friends to get our nails done for a gala we were to attend the next day. I was greeted warmly and seated quickly. I then proceeded to wait 10-15 minutes for a manicurist to attend me. This gave me ample time to scrutinize the rather unclean station I was sitting at, which had a healthy dusting of the previous customers nails as well as ample time to develop a distinct sense of dread at having to rest my arms on said table to receive my manicure. The manicurist that attended me was polite, although appeared to question my sanity (or chintzy-ness, rather) in opting for a regular old French manicure rather than a shellac manicure. I was happy with the work that he did, though he seemed distracted and abandoned me mid-work on multiple occasions to tend to new customers as they arrived (this place could benefit from a having a single employee solely dedicated to being the receptionist). I was happy with my manicure and would have given them a three-star review were it not for what happened next. Saturday evening (a little more than 24 hours later), I noticed my nails looked a little dingy. This was confusing because all I had done since the manicure was eat a couple of meals, get drinks, sleep and walk around TTU campus and the First Friday Art Trail. By Sunday morning my nails had a distinct crack-addict-yellow-green tinge to them. I went back into the salon where they insisted on redoing my nails about as much as they insisted that I had messed them up in the first place. The things they said that might have been the culprit were as follows: 1) I must have tanned and just refuse to admit it to them now (this being said to a girl who is so white she practically glows under the fluorescent bulbs in their shop. Needless to say, I do not tan or even use self-tanner). 2) My makeup did it (because I would totally put something on my face that is toxic enough to stain their cheap-ass nail polish on contact). 3) I must have done dishes or cleaned or something (No cleaning for me. In addition to being a liberated woman, I was also on vacation at the time). None the less, I appreciated that they were willing redo the manicure (albeit while speaking Vietnamese right next to me with the only English words being "top coat", "make up" and "tan". Nothing like knowing you're being talked about without the courtesy of discreet whispers to make you feel like you are in a real-life Anjelah Johnson joke). But after spending some time in the dryer and being shooed on my way I got the opportunity to note that every nail had air bubbles in the polish and a few nails even had chunks of dust stuck to them. 24 hours later, the polish is already beginning to crack. I will admit, this is a remarkable improvement over the crack-addict-green nails, but since I also suck at painting my nails, I think I will just save $20 and 45 minutes of my time and deal with the less-than-desirable outcome of doing it myself next time. After doing some research, I found that the symptom that I will continue to refer to as crack-addict nails is most often caused by using a cheap top coat that reacts to UV light. I guess in addition to tanning, toxic makeup and casual cleaning I was also supposed to avoid sunlight and the outdoors...mah bad, yo. read more

It's extremely hard to find a good nail salon no matter where you are but this one really exceeds expectation! They took their time and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. They have adequate staffing so that when it became full half way through my visit there still was no wait time. The only downfall I noticed was that they don't have barrier covers for their pedicure tubs. Great place! read more

I went there earlier today around 12pm, I was quickly seated and received my pedicure. I'd have to say the lady doing my feet was probably the sweetest woman I've met. She made me very comfortable, unlike a lot of places I've been where it's an awkward silence. She also gave a comp margarita which was great. And they also have iPads at every pedicure station which I haven't seen before. Overall I had a great experience. read more

This place is pitiful. I write this review after a dozen times my wife has come home from this place. In the last four years it's just escalated in pitiful service. I wish I could give it less of a star...they don't listen and my wife spends more time at home filing her nails into the shape that she wanted than she spent at the salon. The work done was sad, to the point that from nail to nail, they were uneven. The length from hand to hand was an even centimeter off from left to right. I called to complain and the best they could do was "we'll look at it again" and that's happened before and all they do is tell us that this was exactly what she asked for and make her pay the same price for a new set. This place SPECIALIZES in HIGHWAY ROBERY. This place does not deserve the business that they're trying to run. I've never seen such poor work, in all my years of labor if I had done this type of work for this type of review I would have had to waive the price for my labor.
