At the end everyone puts in their guess as to what the solution to the mystery is. The acting is a little cheesy and over the top but not horrible. Since it's held at the Spaghetti Warehouse and was full the night we went the service wasn't very good. You will have a limited menu to order from and may or may not get any refills during the event. It was an interesting experience and fun to try if you've been around Dayton and are looking for something new to try. The food was good and the mystery was interesting enough, it would be a lot more fun with a large group of friends though. Expect to spend a little over $25 a person.

It would have been even better if they had a person walking selling hot cider, and cocoa to your seat like they do at the baseball games. I do love me some Andrew Lloyd Webber, after all. First, the good: the service was excellent. And the highlight of the evening--the show itself--did not disappoint. The cast was fantastic, full of energy and talent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Now...the not-so-good (because every great review needs a plot twist). The food didn't quite match the level of the show. The veggies were more "mushy medley" than fresh, and the roast beef had clearly committed to being well-done...very well-done. The fried chicken had a surprising kick--unexpected, but not terrible. Drinks leaned more toward "sparkling sugar water" than cocktail, if you know what I mean. That said, the white fish and tartar sauce were solid, and the sweet potato soufflé and coffee with strawberry shortcake dessert were definite highlights. One point of confusion: gratuity. It was clearly stated that it wasn't included (message received!), but since I'd purchased tickets months ago and only paid for drinks that night, I wasn't quite sure what the tipping expectations were for our wonderful server and bus staff. Also worth noting: the seating. After nearly four hours, the chairs and I were no longer on speaking terms. I even tried switching seats--same result. While the theater has a nice, elegant feel, it does come across as a bit dated and could benefit from a refresh. The same goes for their marketing--it's easy to forget about them, and the website could use some streamlining. All in all, it was a fun night with a great show and wonderful service. Would I go back? Maybe...after my back recovers and if the menu gets a little encore-worthy upgrade.

The meal begins with a fresh salad topped with a nice mango chutney dressing, which was definitely a highlight. Guests are then invited to the buffet in sections, and I must say our waiter was exceptionally kind, attentive, and provided wonderful service throughout the night. Unfortunately, the food itself was quite underwhelming. Having visited about 12 years ago, I was surprised to see that the menu has not changed and feels very outdated. The so-called signature sweet potato dish--with sugar and candied pecans--was unappetizing, and overall the food tasted inexpensive and poorly prepared. That said, the atmosphere remains pleasant, the theater is clean, and the staff is friendly. I truly enjoy the theater experience at La Comedia, but a refreshed, more modern menu would make the evening so much better.

This is one of the best local theatres in the Columbus area. Prior to the performance, I had asked several locals about the theatre and was simply told that it was small, hence the name. Thank you, Captain Obvious. So, with not much to go on, my expectations were pretty low. Even so, the ticketing system for this theatre is ridiculously antiquated. To reserve a seat, you have to leave a message on their answering machine. Make sure you have lots of time on your hands when doing so because you will have to sit through a greeting that goes on forever with no way to bypass it. If there is a way, please let me know how. The message will ask you to leave your information and that your call will ONLY be returned if there is a problem with your reservation. I am the type of person who wants confirmation of my reservation. Because this theatre is a good 45 minute drive from my house, I want to feel confident that my reservation is in good order. Not surprisingly, since coming here my reservations have been botched twice. Once, I left my message several days in advance, but It was never received. Last week, my message was received, but my seats were given away to someone else who also (supposedly) had my (very uncommon) last name. Highly unlikely, in my opinion. In both instances, we were accommodated with seats, but I would have been upset had we been turned away. Aside from that hassle, we adore this theatre. Yes it is small and seats less than 100, BUT the productions are spectacular! I was amazed at how much they could do on such a small stage. Choreographed dance numbers, intricate sets, top notch voices and reasonable ticket/concession prices make this historic theatre an absolute treasure in Grove City. I have not seen a bad production yet and I highly recommend the musicals. Tons and tons of talent and not a bad seat in the house!

My husband and I went to the Murder Mystery Company for our anniversary meal/entertainment. We had…read morenever been to a dinner theater/murder mystery before - so we did not know what to expect. Our first impression was that the location was good, parking was great, and seating was OK, but cramped. We were seated at a table for 6 and ended with with 2 couples that came together - very nice people. The service was good - keeping my drink full and clearing our places promptly after we finished each course. I knew ahead of time that drinks were a la carte - but I did not know that gratuity for the meal/presentation was separate. My husband and I agree that all should be included in the upfront cost so you don't feel nickel-and-dimed to death. The meal was fine. My husband hated the salad - but I as a more ecletic eater enjoyed it. It was mixed greens with sliced fruit and a light vinagrette dressing. We both liked the main course (stuffed pepper for me and chicken for him). Dessert was rated good by him and OK by me (where can you really go wrong with brownie and vanilla ice cream. A French Vanilla would have raised it to GREAT, but it was OK - good). The storyline was a bit difficult to follow - since audience members could not necessarily be heard in their acting parts and were sometimes confusing in what they said. It might have helped to either select better "actors" or to include more of the storyline in print in the binders. The length was about right. I wouldn't have wanted another "scene" or "act." I really liked the fact that you could get involved and participate as much or as little as you wanted. We chose to watch and not get up and ask questions or interrogate the principal players. The couples at our table milled about somewhat by the end of the play. The mystery was definitely solvable. I won't give the "who dunnit" away - but as soon as it was explained to us who did it and why, I rolled my eyes and smacked my head - I should have picked up on the clues. Would I go again? Yes - IF - we went with another 2 couples that we enjoy socializing with. I know we'd have a much better time and be more engaged. As to the liquor license - as a non-drinker, I'm happy that they don't serve alcoholic beverages. I do think that this type of entertainment is not family-friendly and would not appreciate having children in the audience. We did not have any kids in our seating and would not have thought that it would have been appropriate for a younger crowd.
