Except $200 for a chain I won't name. Then, Google Maps sneakily suggested one other place for a much more reasonable rate on a 3rd party site. I jumped and prayed that Roadhouse would accept - I've had that declined in the past as "that site overbooks us all the time, sorry but we won't charge you at least." Today, the Lord answered my prayers (and that's a stealthy reference to all the Biblical quotes painted on the hotel walls), and my reservation was accepted. My room is quiet, spacious, comfortable. I got to use the hot tub and get that neck massage I've been needing so badly. The desk host is just such a lovely person. This is a memorable experience and, you know what? I'm glad I had to pay an extra $30-$40 over the budget motels for an experience this nice. I encourage you to do the same.

The manager/owner, Lynette, was truly awful. She yelled at my mom for asking to change rooms and said we have only been trouble for her and were very rude over a simple request. When we asked for the manager she said we were out of luck because she's the manager and owner. Seems like there's no accountability there. Lynette said there were no other rooms available for us or my grandparents to change to but when my aunt arrived suddenly there were quite a few to chose from. Final detail, they charged our card on the first night of a 3 days stay even though we were assured we could pay with another card on our final day. We were the only ones charged in our large party and it seemed...petty. Overall a hilariously unprofessional place. Things just kept getting weirder.

I couldn't get my money back. I had to wait untill noon for them to start working. Wasting the whole day. I would rather sleep in the car next time.

The entertainment is incredible, always something happening at the pool Stage/tiki bar/main stage. My family has made so many incredible memories here throughout the years and we are always looking forward to our next stay. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the event weekends (Halloween in August, Christmas in July etc) are phenomenal. Staff is friendly and the owners are very easy to talk to. Lilac resort used to have mini golf, and I think they should bring it back!... Yes, I am that old! Just saying in regards to the review mentioning "swingers" that is nonsense, I've been a loyal guest since I was a kid and never seen anything remotely close to a "swingers" hub . Lilac is an excellent family vacation destination. Definitely check it out! You gotta book fast though, usually a year in advance for certain weekends.

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience - Racially Profiled in Front of My Family…read more I stayed at Lilac Resort with my wife and children just two days ago. The next morning, the owner approached me and said the RCMP had instructed him to record number plates of people staying long-term and "doing paving." I found this odd but said no problem. Later that evening, while having a BBQ with my kids, I was approached by an RCMP officer who said I had been reported as a paving scammer. I was shocked. He asked for ID and questioned me -- all based on a false report from the resort. I confronted the owner, and he tried to brush it off, but the RCMP made it clear it was him who called. This happened purely because I'm Irish -- a disgusting and offensive stereotype. I was treated like a criminal in front of my own children, for no reason other than my ethnicity. This kind of racial profiling is not only morally wrong -- it's also legally unacceptable. No one should be targeted because of where they come from. On top of that, I've seen others complain about the number of surveillance cameras around the hot tubs -- which I also found strange and inappropriate for a family setting. I do not recommend staying here. If you care about respect and basic decency, stay away.

Nice accommodations, slightly iffy wireless, but the one problem I noticed is that the rooms are generally left open, including windows and floor vents. You'll want to close all of these when you arrive, but it means there are a few bugs in the room. Unfortunately, that takes away from an otherwise fine stop for the night. If you have trouble finding the woman to check in with, people are known to open a door to an empty room and leave a night's worth of money when they go. It's not like the city no one's going to take what's not theirs. A fine country alternative to heading as far west as Winnipeg.
