Had a not so great experience here at the Radisson. The lady who checked us in was super nice and had us in our rooms by 11am so one more star just for her, she was awesome. My room was recently updated, appeared to be very clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, the walls in this hotel are absolutely paper thin. My neighbour in the adjoined room decided to have a conversation on both mornings during my stay at full volume at 4:00am and woke me up. The second time I complained and they did call him from the front desk but I couldn't get back to sleep. If anyone reading this is a parent to a toddler, you would understand just how much I needed/wanted these opportunities to sleep in. Just a bit lol but I digress. It was also a learning for me to always travel with earplugs. I would not stay here again for work or pleasure. read more

The Motel 6 of Radissons. They're obviously trying to improve that, but there were so many little things that added up to Average, in every way. I've stayed at the Radisson Blu at the Mall of America, and the gulf between the two is like night and day. I think part of it may be the Canad Inns management, and the other part is the location, which they have no control over. The Good: The bed was quite comfy, and that is the most important thing. The view was also nice, and I liked the Starbucks in the lobby, which was super convenient, and was basically the reason I chose this hotel, since Inn at the Forks and the Fort Garry were both booked up because of the long weekend. The Bad: Just small stuff, but annoying nonetheless. My restaurant experience was abysmal. I went there for breakfast the first day and the food was bland. The coffee was AWFUL. Usually hotel coffee is really good. I'm not sure what brand they use, but it was undrinkable. My server looked like an unmade bed. If you want to project 4-5 star service, at least get your employees to dress well and groom well. She served me, then got a call and proceeded to chatter away in Tagalog at the bar at full volume like I wasn't sitting right there. Seriously? You're at your job, and you have a customer. Either tell them you'll call them back or go back in the kitchen so I don't have to listen to your personal call. I was there looking for a house, and was pretty stressed out from moving provinces, and had been enjoying my average breakfast and bad coffee because of the nice quiet atmosphere. Until that moment. I paid my tab and left. My TV remote quit working and I had to call the front desk to send up maintenance. I had to have my key card redone twice in two days. Some weird man kept following me around the lobby trying to talk to me while I was waiting for my realtor to come pick me up. The Ugly: The tweaker who had to be physically removed from the property, shrieking, "GIVE ME MY LIGHTER!!" at the security guard again and again while I waited outside for my Uber. This occurred right next to me, and I was a little worried for my safety, because she was freaking out. I promptly went inside again and waited there. I felt bad, because they did ask me how the service was. I didn't have the heart to tell them that except for the bed, everything was a complete letdown. Fortunately, I'm moving to Winnipeg, so won't have to stay here again. read more

I've been in Winnipeg since Sunday and I stayed at the Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown. I ended up with a one bedroom suite, which was great considering I spent four nights there ... I appreciated having lots of space rather than being cooped up in one room. It was really cold outside and I had the heat turned on fairly high to keep the room warm ... I found it odd that there were two big chairs in front of the window blocking the heater so I moved them to the corners out of the way and it made a difference. The heaters were pretty good but there was a really cold breeze coming in under them. The king bed was comfy! The bathroom was huge. I loved the tub and used it every night ... it was deep and comfy! I'll miss it! The hotel is downtown so close to restaurants, shopping, the Winnipeg Jets hockey arena (next door), the Forks, etc. There is a Starbucks on the lobby floor and a restaurant on the 12th floor (I didn't check out either). A newspaper was delivered to my door every day. My room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc. There are laundry facilities and a fitness centre on the 13th (aka "T") floor. I used the treadmill in the fitness centre a couple nights and it was okay. Self-parking, which is what I did, was $15/night and valet parking was $20/night. The parking building is attached to the hotel. WIFI is complimentary. I found it spotty and inconsistent. Sometimes it was speedy (in the mornings) and other times it was non-existent (in the evenings), which was annoying (it made it hard to get work done). Scammers. Offered a room with two double beds for $226 (a night) and then asked for our CAA and said it would be $215. Great!. After we told the receptionist that my mom was paying but not staying with my kids and I she asked if it was my moms CAA card,and it was. The receptionist proceeded to say that we would no longer get the CAA discount. Understandable. The location was good and the room was in ok condition. The restaurant was decent and the wait staff at the rest was good, especially Katie. The issue was the door locking system was horrible. It was the worst I have ever seen despite almost weekly travel. I had to have my room keys re-keyed six times in 3 days!! Fix the lousy system!! Nice selection of restaurants nearby. However Starbucks on first floor lobby was slow due to understaffing. The courtesy van wasn't running because the driver had not shown up. Had to take a taxi instead. The management is not watching the details and it shows. Borderline 2 star except the restaurant staff pulled it up. read more

Traveling for business, I believe this has been one of the best hotel experience I have ever had. Clean, comfortable king size room met & exceed expectations. However it was the staff that truly influenced this 5star rating. From front desk staff, to management, to housekeeping - everyone went out of their way to assure I had a wonderful stay, engaged in pleasant conversation. They checked, checked and doubled checked in with me to see if there was anything they could do to improve my stay. Wonderful extras - Starbucks in the lobby, great views of the city (west facing room provides for amazing sunsets), business services and meetings rooms, centrally located to the Human Rights Museum, trails, restaurants, free shuttle services that do need to be booked but will take you wherever you want to go. This being a $20 savings if traveling by taxi from the airport (20 minutes drive). All at a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend when visiting Winnipeg. Will be back. read more

Stayed at the Radisson Winnipeg while attending an NHL game, due to its close proximity to the MTS Centre. While being "connected" somewhat to the MTS Centre, I booked there specifically to be able to walk to the event from the hotel and not needing to find parking downtown and being able to walk to the arena while staying indoors, as the temperature was well below -30c. Unfortunately they lock all access to the walkway that leads into the MTS Centre due to a lack of security or personnel. This could easily be fixed with keycard access to the walkway for hotel guests as opposed to just closing it off completely to everyone. The rooms themselves were clean, the staff were courteous and helpful and it's location to the MTS Centre is hard to beat if you are travelling to Winnipeg for an event there. The room size itself was ok, a little on the smaller size, which for a Radisson brand hotel I was a little disappointed. Finally, the attached multi-level parkade requires attention as you enter or exit the facility as the turns are quite tight and ceilings are low. I have a light duty truck which fit, although it was very close in the turns and with the low ceilings especially with a lot of snow packed inside the open parkade. read more

Little Rough! We booked a 3 day stay over Christmas as we had travelled into Winnipeg to visit family. I am so sorry to admit we didn't stay the 3 days. In fact, we left after 1 hour and booked at another hotel. In full disclosure, we travel a lot and are by no means 'snobby travellers', but this hotel did NOT meet the mark for us in so many different areas. Location: Location is great and downtown. However, that comes with another issue of security. There were a lot of rough looking people around the hotel, and the bell boy even walks the halls with a security guard. It gave us a very unsafe feeling. Elevator/Room Location: We had NO idea that the rooms start at floor 16. Floors 1-15 are actually a parkade. We were looking for something easy to get in and out of, and probably would not have booked here if we had known that half of the hotel is a parkade. The elevator was noisy, dirty, and a little scary to be honest. We did not feel confident with it. We would have taken the stairs, but at floor 16 that is really impossible. Rooms: We did book a basic room (and I know nicer rooms are available) but it was small, dark, tight, and just generally 'dreary'. The bathroom door hardly opened, very tight. The decor has been renovated, but the building/room itself on the 16th floor was very dismal. There are a few Radisson hotels we just LOVE, and expected the same experience from this one, but unfortunately we did not. read more

We've stayed here quite a few times over the last couple of years and it's always a good experience. The rooms are recently updated and modern and the hotel is very clean. There is a great little workout room with some treadmills and weights and a few tv's. There's a nice restaurant, starbucks in the lobby, and room service. The front desk staff are all friendly and get us checked in quickly. Jennifer from Housekeeping always cleans our room spotlessly and takes good care of us. The hotel is in a great location. Came to Winnipeg for a conference. Would of gotten more stars but the Desk clerks are a bit apathetic. the rooms are nice. I couldn't find any stairs, so your forced to share the elevator with everybody. This isn't really a problem because the elevators are pretty fast. The location is central to downtown, and everything is within walking distance. I would recommend. Pros: close to everything, will check your bag after you check out so you can explore without it. Nice beds, nice rooms, shower has spray options. Cons: wifi is complete shit, will disconnect you randomly. Card readers on door are picky. It's a bit frustrating if your in a rush and have to dip your card seven times. read more

I came to stay at the hotel when I was going to attend the Letterkenny Live Show at The Burton Cummings Theatre. We booked the hot tub suite and we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. I had asked for recommendations from the Dawn at the front desk. She is very enthusiastic and pleasant. She provided meal recommendations and directions on how to get there. After spending a night on the town, when I returned to the hotel she greeted me and asked if I enjoyed my meal. She made me feel very comfortable. read more

A nice hotel with a below average restaurant makes for an alright stay. The Radisson Hotel is a great place to stay for a pretty penny. They offer great service and clean rooms. The location is great if you are attending a Winnipeg Jets game. It is very convenient being in the middle of city, close to other places such as Polo Park and Shaw Park. The restaurant is very subpar. The food comes with little food and it doesn't even taste good, not to mention how expensive it was.I had an order of honey garlic chicken wings that came with 10 for $22. The staff is very friendly but on most nights you can find dirty prostitutes roaming the hallway. The showers have great pressure and the toilets work great! read more

Okay so I am torn between 1 or 2 stars. I have stayed here multiple times and the experience has always been pretty much the same. Location: It is located right downtown and is walking distance to the MTS center and a short cab ride from The Forks. It isn't particularly safe especially late evenings/nights. It is sketchy thats all; a lot of homeless people in the area. Room card swipe required to enter the hotel lobby in the evenings and at all times in the elevator. Parking: There is a parkade next door that they have an affliation with. Depending on who is at the desk, parking can range from $10 - $20 a day. You'll get unlimited in-out priviledges though. Front Desk: The worst crew I have prolly seen at any hotel. They make it evident that you are not particularly welcome. They do a good job of creating one of the worst first impressions! Room: The hotel has been recently renovated and so the rooms are in good shape. The air conditioning however is iffy. I have been in rooms where I have had techs come and replace the A/C multiple times during a stay. The worst thing is that they swap it with another room. The sad part is that you have to wait a night to know how bad the situation is. I was pretty annoyed when front desk kept saying that it takes about 6 hours for the room to cool in ANY hotel and aparently that is a known fact that I was totally unaware of. That being said, rooms are clean and usually have a good view of the city. They have sleep number beds if that counts. Most rooms have a mini fridge. Be prepared to scout multiple floors before you find ice and bev machines. The info provided in the Hotel guide is mis-leading. Maybe thats where the machines will be at some point. The wireless internet doesnt work most days and it again takes a while before it is fixed. Its painfully slow btw. Food/Restaurant: The restaurant is actually pretty good. Their breakfasts are massive and good. The service is prompt. This is the only part of my stay (multiple weeks at at time) that I enjoyed. Healthclub: Average. Not a lot of space but maybe coz its downtown. Overall: There are other hotels in the area which are always an option but don't have high expectations. This was a very nice, convenient hotel. First major point for me was they have a really nice bathtub. I love taking baths & theirs was clean, deep and had arm rest for relaxation. Overall decent hotel with adequate accommodations, but nothing fancy. What made my stay great was the service: On the second night of my five-night stay, my sleep was disrupted by some noisy neighbours in at least two rooms in my hall. I called the front desk at 3 a.m. and they were kind enough to send up security, but that didn't do much. So, the next morning, I let the front desk manager, Angie know and she went above and beyond to make it right: I was relocated to another room on a quiet floor, given a full breakfast voucher and she offered me a free Starbuck's beverage on the day of my check-out after apologizing profusely. Lousy guests happen; it's not the hotel's fault, but I really appreciate everything they did to make my stay better. read more

I have stayed in this hotel several times and it is my favourite Hotel in Winnipeg. Last year they had trouble with the elevators which have since been repaired. The rooms are clean and nice, but the best part is the service. The front desk and restaurant staff really bend over backwards for you here. I actually had a long stay - 21 days - at this hotel and a year later when I walked in, the staff still remembered me and all those particular quirks I have - how I like my coffee, what I like to eat for breakfast, where I like to sit in the restaurant, what features I like best in a room. I travel extensively for work and this has been the single worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I was forces to stay here for a training class and meals were provided by the hotel. At first, you would think this is a good thing but we were constantly served left overs being passed off as new food, breakfasts that had gone stale before they were brought out, and endless courses of chicken. Once or twice a week isn't bad but every single meal had chicken and it was usually the chicken from the night before coated in a different sauce. Housekeeping was a joke. Never was provided with additional soap and good luck getting any more toilet paper. I had to literally track down a cart and grab supplies off it to restock a bathroom. On top of that, the maids would routinely turn off the air condition and change the setting on the thermostat, preventing it from coming back on. In the middle of a heat wave. To cap everything off, the roof of my truck was damaged by their parkade and they are refusing to pay for the damages. My truck is well within the height limits for entry and I had no problems for 2 weeks before this. No warnings for low clearance for the conduit that caused the damage and completely hostile staff response to something that should not have been an issue. Simply put, unless you are forced to be here, never stay here. Worst hotel ever! read more

These other reviewers are IMHO off-base. First, the front desk staff took care of my every request with a smile and they jumped to help me. I asked for a meeting room with no prior call and the sales group had me in a room, with coffee, tea and water in less than fifteen minutes, tended to us well and served lunch. It was great. They adjusted my ac so my room was very cool despite heat wave. Had to ask, but they did it and promptly. Yes, it is a bit noisy but nothing that kept me awake. Food in restaurant was fine except the fruit plate that is one to avoid. The hockey place is a block away and they have a restaurant in it called Moxie's that is quite good for casual food and very attractive waitstaff. Also we found nice restaurants and shops walking just a few blocks to McDermott street. Sketchy surroundings? Uh, Winnipeg downtown features weird people, folks. The St Regis across the way looks like a flesh market after midnight and the local law clearly could care less. So avoid, but it is a city and so what. My room was very clean, my bed was comfy, there is a Starbucks in the lobby, they have a valet park for only $15.00/day. But the story here is service and the service I experienced was excellent, eager, prompt, and delivered with a smile. read more

The restaurant at this hotel is horrendeous!!!! Never in my life could i imagine such a horrible caesar salad for 20.00!!! Small handfull lettuce with 2 whole strips of bacon on top, had to break it apart myself and i added a chichen breast which was horrible , old, and leftover and tiny and reheated in the microwave it was so shrivellled i couldnt believe it plus lettuce was warm and chicken was cold!!! Im not kidding!!!!! And didnt even come with garlic toast for 15.00!! So i had to special order it cause they didnt even have it on the menu, for 4.09 xtra fir 4 slices, which wasnt too bad, best part of the meal actually!! But the red house wine was awesome!!!!! How could anyplace f--k up a salad like that and charge 20.00!! The worst salad i ever had in my life!!! But we were in a hurry to go to a concert and i was starving, so i ate everything hopeing i wouldnt get sick after and am surprised i didnt!!! read more
