Decent price and location. It is a beautiful hotel…read more My only complaints is that there is no fridge in the room and the uncomfortable iron headboard. There was daily housekeeping, and we were able to text if we needed anything.

It's clear that the current owner has tried to update the place to look more like a Motel 6 than what this beautiful building should be. Cheap renovations and tacky Target bargain furniture and light fixtures have stripped this place of its charm and history. All of the beautiful wood in the unit is painted white now and the hallways are a horrible and depressing dark grey. The furniture is cheap and over sized for the rooms. Room 619 had a bed so tall we had to ask to switch rooms. The front desk suggested they bring us a step ladder instead. Seriously?! We finally switched to 808 which had two regular sized beds that were a normal height and we didn't have to be watched as we went to the bathroom. Not sure why washrooms that face other units don't have window coverings! There are absolutely no amenities in the rooms. No fridge. An $8 plastic bottle of water. A Nespresso with coffee only. You have to ask for tea if you want it. Toiletries in the bathroom need revisiting. They're the same ones from 2010 from L'Occitane; tired, dated and horribly scented. More hotels have switched to more sustainable and options but here, you will still get a shoe mitt and shower cap. One bonus was two robes in each room. There is a small gym but no access to a pool. You can pay $12 next door. Apparently yoga is included, but no one told us about that upon check in for our weeklong stay. The wifi didn't work after the first night and staff weren't overly helpful about it. At $252 a night, this is not what we were expecting. Had we known how downhill this place has gone, we'd have opted for the Holiday Inn. Parking is $22 a night and the front entrance is permanently occupied by crowds of smokers. It's absolutely disgusting. This place is for sale so we really hope that the new buyer will help bring this beauty back from the depths of sadness.

Mere Hotel - What you see when you walk in this is on the third floor with river view

I stayed at the Mere Hotel for one night while on a cross-country roadtrip and wish I'd stayed an…read moreextra day. The hotel's location is excellent - right on the river, with the North Winnipeg Parkway (a paved walking trail) right outside the door. It's a perfect spot for exploring the city, a short walk to restaurants and the Manitoba Theatre Centre, and a comfortable walk to the Forks. I was travelling with my dog, and since dogs are only allowed on the ground floor I was initially worried about noise (especially since I was on the city side rather than the river side), but it wasn't particularly noticeable at all. The rooms are well-sized and kept well-cleaned, and the modern decor looks good. The bathroom does have glass walls, which might be awkward for some travellers but it does make the space look even larger. The room has a bar-size fridge, a nespresso machine (with three pods), a good amount of baggage storage, a desk and a bench seat near the door. There's a small gym on-site, which looked up-to-date (I took a look, but didn't use it). I've read older reviews here that mention snacks are included, but at the time I stayed (summer 2024), they cost extra. There's no restaurant on-site, but there are so many in the area that it's not really a negative. The only downside is that the parking lot is tiny and the spots themselves are very narrow. I arrived very early, so I was able to find a spot, but people who arrived later in the day weren't all so lucky. I imagine that would be particularly frustrating for people on multi-day stays who might have paid for parking, drove out to explore, and then not been able to park that night. That said, for the location, it's great that they have on-site parking at all! Overall, I would definitely book another night here the next time I'm passing through Winnipeg.

They offer bikes for hotel guests which is perfect for location you can bike across the bridge or down to the forks market. Hotel its self is not necessarily anything special but it is clean and comfortable. Shower has a beautiful rainfall shower which is nice. I would come back and stay here again.

Parking is simple, all the way down on the basement on the "green" level - nice thing about parking down there is the car is warm in the morning! Property is clean & quiet even when it's sold out on game day! Room is functional w a tub/shower (not my fav) combo in the small bathroom. Towels are decent and water for shower is hot! I appreciate the electric tea kettle in the room. Club on 12th floor is solid - I like there is attendant there for breakfast. Breakfast is decent: pancakes, croissant, scrambled eggs, sausage links. During the day that are soft drinks, chips and cookies. Again always very clean. Friendly service all around & and Elephant and Castle in the same building. I am a fan!!

Bonus points that you can reach the next door Elephant and Castle pub without going back outside. Lobby Starbucks had an actual barista but not breakfast food. Lobby restaurant opens for weekday breakfast from 7-11am and serves pretty good food. Rooms are ok but lack extra amenities. Bed and pillows are comfortable so that alone was almost worth 4 stars. Wifi works well. But closet is tiny. There's no safe. Toilet paper is sandpaper. Toilet itself had flushing issues. Gym is tiny without many machines. Smells of chlorine from the pool next door. People were nice. Would I stay here again? Yes Do I wish it was a little nicer? Also yes

The staff is amazing, always asking if we need anything and always smiling and they are always busy doing something. I have yet to see them standing around just chatting or leaning on a counter looking bored. I would hire these people any day. The free breakfast is good. Everything is hot that should be and tastes pretty good as well. The location is close to the forks and the Skywalk and under ground shopping. When we came back last night security was walking the parking lot. I'm not sure if it was to make sure no one parked without a ticket in their window or for our safety but either way we were able to get a spot and felt safe going into the hotel. And as always the security was smiling and asked us how our evening was. We will stay here next time we are in Winnipeg.

Something else they didn't mention? The fire alarm testing for the 3 days we stayed.
