Excellent spot to stay for a Jets game! It's a 2 block walk outside (on a nice 12/2 day) or a short walk in the second floor tunnels to the arena. Parking is simple, all the way down on the basement on the "green" level - nice thing about parking down there is the car is warm in the morning! Property is clean & quiet even when it's sold out on game day! Room is functional w a tub/shower (not my fav) combo in the small bathroom. Towels are decent and water for shower is hot! I appreciate the electric tea kettle in the room. Club on 12th floor is solid - I like there is attendant there for breakfast. Breakfast is decent: pancakes, croissant, scrambled eggs, sausage links. I stayed at the Delta in Winnipeg for a science fiction convention. It's not a bad hotel, but it has some issues. The place looks attractive. The room was clean. Service was OK. At one point the handle came off the shower, and someone came to fix it very quickly. The elevators require tapping a hotel key to get to floors above the third. The convention had a suite on the fifth floor for people in the filk music community. I couldn't get there with my key, and I got there only once when someone with the right key was going to that floor. I understand the need for security, but this wasn't a well thought-out feature. The walkway to the Convention Centre requires climbing a few stairs. This wasn't a problem for me, but it was for some other convention members, who had to go outside to get to an elevator at ground level. My biggest complaint is that the showers don't have grab bars. This should be considered a basic safety feature; they don't cost much. I was told that if I had mobility problems (which I don't), I could request them when making a reservation, subject to availability. That's like making seat belts a limited, optional feature in a rental car! You don't have to be handicapped to slip and fall in the shower. read more

I spent Sunday to today in Winnipeg and my home-away-from-home was the Delta Winnipeg Hotel. Rooms have a balcony. My balcony overlooked the heated outdoor pool, which was apparently 21C. I heard a big splash Wednesday night so looked out ... two guys had jumped into the pool but got right back out The hotel is right downtown so it's handy to restaurants, the convention centre, concert arena, shopping, etc. The parking lot is right next door and was about $15 to self-park ... it's a pretty dark dingy dusty lot and the Delta's parking is three to five levels down :( The room rate ranged from $179 (Sunday night) to $229 (last night). The room was normal size. WIFI was complimentary and I found it quick. There is no fridge or microwave, though there is space in the desk so there may have been a fridge at one point. I like having a fridge so I can have cold water handy. The toilet paper protocol was a bit wacky. Every hotel I've ever stayed in has had at least two rolls of toilet paper ... one in the holder and the other on standby. I usually only have my room cleaned every second day so I can have the towels replenished. So that would have been Tuesday morning. I had a half a roll of toilet paper left and assumed I'd also get a new roll. Nope! Wednesday morning I had a quarter of a roll of toilet paper so had my room cleaned just so I could get a roll of toilet paper. Nope! Yesterday morning I had a couple squares left so I actually hid the roll and had my room clean and towels replenished. Finally I got a new supply of two rolls of toilet paper. Very strange. My room had a connecting door and I could hear how loud the guy next door was but it wasn't an issue with me. He woke me up, though, at 3am this morning playing loud music for a while (it sounds like he'd just gotten in). He woke me up again at 5:10am because he was "entertaining" female company ... for a half hour! Unfortunately my alarm was set for 6am so I didn't get a lot of sleep. Comfortable, modern, clean, relaxing. Everything I really need from a hotel stay! The staff was enthusiastic and helpful without being overbearing. The 12th floor lounge isn't anything groundbreaking, but I'm always down for a quick breakfast! Booked here by company for business. Well located and close to downtown Winnipeg with lots of indoor malls and the MTS Center (Arena) walking distance. Given the frigid temps of Winnipeg in winter, this is a good thing. There is one link to the vast indoor mall system right across the street so no need to freeze for more than a minute or two. The hotel itself is typical of most Deltas. Check-in was efficient and friendly, and took about 3 minutes. The lobby is quite large and boasts a restaurant (expensive), gift shop and coffee bar with lots of choice of coffees, muffins and snacks (not free). Also, the Elephant and Castle Pub is in the lobby as well, with reasonably priced drinks and pub food. The room was average in size, with a fairly comfortable bed (no pillowtop mattress which seems to be the new standard), decent TV, smallish work space and cheap coffee maker (with the standard coffee packs - generally lousy taste). The furnishings themselves are starting to show age and I'd say should be up dated in a year or two to keep up with some other Deltas. Bathroom is on the small size of most hotels, but all was very clean. Closet contained bathrobe, and iron with ironing board. Soap/shampoo were high quality spa-type soaps. Noise levels were quieter than a lot of hotels and the housekeeping staff actually left me alone (unlike some spots). The health club is above average with a floor of cardio equipment, large pool and hot tub and very good weight setup for a hotel. It was staffed by a couple helpful employees. All in all - clean, decent beds/linens and quiet, so a good night's sleep. This combined with enough in the way of dining, shopping, movies, museums etc nearby to pass the time, needing to stay in your room. read more

Of the two places I've stayed at Winnipeg this is definitely the one I'd consider coming back to. The rooms are updated and very similar to the Delta in Victoria, with a big desk and lots of power ports, comfortable bed and generally modern styling. Not the fanciest hotel, but was clean, everything worked, water pressure was good in the shower, etc. I got a room with a free breakfast, and the choices were good, if not spectacular, but it was nice to get quick service and have the fee and gratuity covered. I thought it was a nice choice you could use the free breakfast vouchers for room service and not just in the restaurant. The hotel has a pool, reasonably nice fitness facility and medium-sized onsite heated garage. It's also conveniently located to the MTS center and other places downtown. My only complaint was there were like 500 engineering students there for some kind of competition and a couple of nights they were up and loud pretty late. I wish the hotel would think more carefully about booking those kinds of groups. read more

So I travel lots for work and have stayed her twice for extended periods of time. Generally I have had a good experience with this brand of hotel. However, I would not recommend this hotel. Here is why:: The rooms are usual delta rooms except in this hotel there are always little issues. Like lightbulb burnt out, missing locks on doors, toilet paper holders that are falling off etc. The carpets are worn, stained in places and haven't been cleaned in while...you can just tell. The food is HORRID. I ordered two meals in this hotel. The first was and egg wrap and it arrived floating in a pool of orange grease. I was really hungry so I was going to eat it anyways until a steady stream of grease ran out of the middle of the wrap onto the plate for at least 10 seconds. I love a greasy breakfast as much as the next person..but this...I just couldn't. The "business centre" is an old computer and printer in the front window of the hotel....so you and everything you may need to do is on full display to other people waiting behind you and even those walking down the street. Great for printing confidential client documents...NOT! Finally the staff, although friendly, do not seem empowered with basic knowledge about the hotel. Every question seems to get a confused look andd hen they either give a the wrong information or have to put you on hold while they go find out the answer...answers like...do you offer overnight complimentary shoe polish...very basic question. read more

I tried to book a room by calling, it just took me to a call centre-not impressed. So I went to the hotel to talk to someone face-to-face. The lady who first helped me was very helpful and had a room ready to book for me but I had to step away to talk to my boyfriend. When I was back this lady was gone. The man who helped me next directed me to a phone that barely worked and said I had to book a room this way. On this phone I was again taken to a call centre and the lady would not offer me the same price as the one the lady at the front desk had offered. Fed up I stood in line, again, but still wasn't being helped. I ended up getting my boyfriend to just deal with it and book the room at the front desk, he whom they actually assisted. Why is talking/booking a room face-to-face so difficult? I am a customer who wanted to spend money at this business and almost left. Pros: room was clean, semi-comfy bed, nice heated floors in the bathroom. Cons: small bathtub, the pool area was ok: the hot tub wasn't even full all the way with water, which made it kind of cold. The pool lining needs to be replaced. We actually had a noise complaint at the pool area because another couple was playing music which we all enjoyed actually, this was at 3pm so that was unfortunate that we can't even listen to music in a common area in the afternoon. Overall, do not like that they don't want you to book a room face-to-face, felt like they don't honour the customer and your time or money. There were so many additional charges, aside from taxes that brought the price up from 129$ to 160$. The pool area has a poor atmosphere, needs to be updated and have some music playing even if it's quiet that's better than dead silence. The music the couple had playing was much quieter than if a bunch of kids were screaming and playing in the pool. Getting a noise complaint as a grown adult for listening to music, really? So another thing that made me feel un valued as a customer. read more

Conveniently located in downtown Winnipeg (which doesn't have much) and connected to my company's Winnipeg branch, so this is a definite plus for me when it's -30 or lower, I don't even have to walk outside. Likes: It's cheap ($90-$100)/night, staff is friendly and connected to a few bars. Elephant and Castle is the main one. Dislike: Rooms are quite small, but I can't really fault it for the price you pay. I'm giving this an extra start because so happy to be in a clean and friendly hotel! Last night I stayed at the Marlborough hotel because it was booked for me. I walked in and it looked OK but it was 2 a.m. and I'd just had 3 connections to get to Winnipeg. As I started to the elevator it was like I'd changed cities and was driving to the hood. The elevator was old and tired and made noises that 80 year old men make at random. The halls were very Hunter S Thompson and quite scary. My door was pink and screamed early 70s. The room was just GROSS old-dirty GOD GROSS. I honestly felt like I should have gotten a prostitute with my room rate. I didn't sleep and just wanted to get out. The company I work for pulled some strings and got me here. Thank You! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! It doesn't smell of urine-the staff are awesome. They dropped cheese, fruit, and crackers off as a welcome gift. Oh I am so happy. I wasn't expecting much of this hotel as I had never heard of Delta Hotels - seems it is a Canadian chain. Anyway, I was very pleasantly surprised with my stay. the room was very clean, modern and comfortable. The desk had connections for hooking my laptop up to the tv and plenty of power outlets. My room even had a balcony, although there was no furniture on the balcony. A chair would have been nice but I'll stick with my 5 stars! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and would highly recommend it to friends and family. read more

Perfectly nice hotel in downtown Winnipeg, adjoining the convention center, so it's super convenient if you're attending a conference here, as I am. I'm sharing a room with a fellow conferee (this trip is on me, not an expense account). It's spacious with all the standard amenities. The bed is great -- I like a firm mattress and this one is very comfortable with just enough "give." I just wish they also had some firm pillows, but it seems that most people like them soft and fluffy. The bathroom is fine, with nice amenities and good hot water and pressure (this is a big high rise hotel). The room does look like it's need of a bit of updating, but it's perfectly fine now. Air conditioning works well and is low-noise. Plenty of outlets for your laptop or anything else you need to plug in (although I always travel with an extension cord or multiple plug just in case). Rates are reasonable -- on their website they've got offers starting at less than $100 CAD a night. There are two restaurants in the lobby and underground parking (extra) with in-and-out privileges. They also have very good, very fast WiFi connections in the rooms. Right now it's free, but I don't know if they'll start charging for that eventually. No problems checking in or finding a space to park, even though I arrived much later than I expected. It was nearly 11:00 p.m. when I got to the hotel after a long day's drive from Kansas City. There are undoubtedly more deluxe properties in town, but unless you're the type that travels with a matching luggage suite from Louis Vuitton and a personal valet, the Delta will be just fine for you! read more

I stayed here for two nights in August. I visited a lot of review sites before I booked and this place had mixed reviews. I assume that most reviews were written before it was remodeled, and while I can't vouch for ALL the rooms (obviously) my room was in great shape. The pictures attached to this site are outdated. I stayed in a room with one king-sized bed. The room actually looked like the pictures on other travel sites. The bed was very comfy and the pillows were amazing. Everything in the room was operational and very clean, including the heated floor in the bathroom (which I couldn't figure out how to turn off...the switch didn't seem to do anything, but the floor eventually cooled down). Anyway, there was some obvious wear and tear in the room, like peeling wall paper in one place, but everything I care about while staying in a hotel room was superb: bed, cleanliness, in-room amenities, etc. The hotel restaurants do leave something to be desired. I arrived late and ordered a burger via room service from the bistro and it was NOT good. The Elephant and Castle was ok, though for drinks with colleagues the second night I discovered they pour typical hotel cocktails: weak. Overall, I would recommend staying here. I was very happy with the hotel itself, but I would also recommend eating elsewhere! read more

If you upgrade to a deluxe room you have access to the lounge area on the 12th floor, which has coffee, sodas, and water; free buffet in the morning; and a happy hour with appetizers. The room we had was located on the 18th floor with a corner view of the human rights museum and overlooked the pool. The Delta has everything I love in a good hotel. First, the lobby is nice. I don't really care too much about the lobby as a whole, but I do enjoy that there is an entrance to the Elephant and Castle pub right in the lobby so i don't even have to put on my coat during the long and very cold winter to go there. Very nice. The elevators are not new, but they do the job. I do love the rooms. First thing to do is kick off your shoes and socks and enjoy the heated floors in the bathroom. It's incredible after a long day of work. Heated floor! I can't even tell you how great and appreciated this tiny feature is. Heated floor! Ok, moving on. The rooms are cozy, with a little coffee maker, a kettle and a mini fridge. The beds are comfy and I really like the pillows. I always look forward to a night at the Delta. read more

Location: Its in downtown with access to the MTS center. There is a overbridge being constructed that will have direct access to a huge indoor mall which will be nice in the winter. Front Desk: The checkin was smooth and quick. They obviously recommended their own restaurant. Theres a gift shop, restaurant, coffee bar, Elephant Castle pub in the lobby. Room: The are some rooms that have been upgraded and some not. I believe I was in an older room. It was still okay though dated, decently sized and clean The wasrooms had heated floors which I loved. Yay! finally a hotel room with lots of outlets. I wasn't sure what I was expecting with this hotel chain but it's comparable to a Hilton I guess. I had a balcony I didn't use because like the other poster said- there is no balcony furniture! Why have such nice rooms and stop at the balcony? I didn't have the same cleanliness issues that other posters have had, but our entire hotel was booked with two events going on in the city so maybe they took extra care to make it nice. Bathroom was clean and the bed was SUPER comfy. I did not want to leave! It's slightly off from the main part of Downtown, which is nice! You don't get the busy street traffic that the others have to deal with, though it is not immune from the street folk asking for money by the entrance. There is a 'mall' across the street which just have basic eateries, groceries, shopping. Quick walk to Chinatown. The hotel restaurant is actually quite good though! Although that restaurant doesn't do room service. The food service downstairs doesn't close until 11 and they have AAMZING fresh basked good. I work in a building close by and relax and visit the main lobby often. Since the reno, it's gotten a bit better and a bit worse in different areas. The little store/cafe place is nice-ish. They serve Starbucks coffee and, just for regular customers, they have coffee cards that they keep behind the counter for you so you don't lose it, with your name on it. The food is pricey for quick snacks and they don't sell magazines anymore. I like that they sell other little items. The main seating area has new couches and chairs. They are comfy. But they are placed in front of the large sliding doors and you get a blast of chilly air when people come and go. The front desk staff are nice. The security is iffy. If you want to just rest your eyes, have a headache or just want to meditate for a few minutes, the security will automatically think you're sleeping and harass you and treat you like you're homeless. The bar/restaurant is opened up more. There's long tables with plugs for your electronics, and you can order drinks and food while you work on your laptop. There's couches and sofa chairs. The waiters don't mind if you grab a coffee and sit in the bar and watch a game. The 2nd floor washroom was renovated a few years ago. It's gone down hill. It has a dark, creepy atmosphere. There is a leak in the roof above one stall. Maintenance has just put a bucket under it and closed off the stall. I've noticed mold growing on the roof close to the leak. The leak has been there for a long time and no signs of attempt to fix it. The soap dispensers are weak. Often the cleaner wants to come in and clean. It's very annoying and violating. There are skywalks connecting to many amenities, as there are all over downtown. They get very crowded before and especially after hockey games. read more

We stayed at the suite for a few months - quiet and very nice hotel, nice pool, in the middle of the city. The reason for the four star is I have not found any other place that serves a better tasting Mediterranean grilled Crown of Lamb with all the trimmings and mint julep, prepared by a Filipino chef. Someday I'll have to fly back just for the Lamb. I would give a 5 star but we were asked to vacate our suite for a wedding party. read more

Amazing hotel! The pool is a tad outdated, but offers a lap pool, large hot tub, and a toddler pool. The hotel has large, clean rooms with amazing views of Winnipeg. The bathrooms are large, with modern features, such as heated floors and elegant sinks. The lobby is very large and grand. Best option for Jets games. The sky walkway to the MTS place is clean, and it's only a 10 minute walk. The lobby has a Starbucks and a few restaurants. Highly recommend the Delta. May be the best hotel in Winnipeg. Always been happy with our stay in the establishment. The staff are helpful and very friendly. They do their jobs well. Keep up the good work! read more

Not impressed with this place. I came for business and I usually like Marriott hotels but this one is sub-par. Staff were great and helpful when checking in, but the room wasn't too impressive. The toilet and stand-up shower were separate from the rest of the facilities - the sink was next to the bed. Oddest layout I've ever seen. I ordered supper from the Blaze - steak sandwich smelled good but wasn't worth the price. Then, I decided to turn on the heat, as it was a bit chilly. It sounded like a helicopter about to take off! It was incredibly loud and lasted for about 6-7 minutes. By the time the maintenance person came up, the sound subsided. She did offer to move me if it happened again. But I just left it at the temperature. Finally, the next morning I went to work out, but the place was packed. I waited patiently for over 25 minutes to use one of the three treadmills but people are so rude and 2 people cut in front of me. Nothing to do with the hotel, but just added to the crappy experience. Sad part is, I have to stay one more night before flying home tomorrow. read more

I would rate this hotel zero stars if possible, but was forced to go one star as it's the lowest. The hotel accommodations are average at best and include a balcony which provides a view of almost constantly overcast Winnipeg. However it was the hotel service that warrantes the poor rating. I only interacted with humans at the front desk but I'm positive there are monkeys working in the back due to the following: -Had $400 security deposit charged daily on credit card -Didn't get room cleaned for the first two days -On third day placed the "Do not Disturb" sign on door and didn't get room cleaned but instead got belongings rummaged through -The morning of check-out we discovered our truck window was smashed and petty change was stolen. As the truck was parked in the underground lot of the hotel we assumed they would take liability but instead they immediately denied all fault and claimed it was imPark who should be responsible as the Delta only leases space from impark. Additionally they took an hour to get us a broom to clean it up and another half hour to get us a vacuum as cleaning rooms was a priority for them. In summary I would recommend lying facedown in a Winnipeg gutter with nothing but a sheet of cardboard rather than staying here. Only would return if I wanted to show my children what Guantanamo Bay is like. read more

I love the location of this hotel to be great. Central & close to shops/walks etc Front desk staff are wonderful as well. Beds are comfortable & a great gym facility. Unfortunately I have had 3 occasions at this same location were I had to bring up housekeeping problems. First time was a filthy remote & phone looked like it hadn't been dusted or sanitized for a very long time. Then last week I was there again & found an undergarment by the chair in the room. Disgusting but they were dark & understandably could have missed. This time however was no mistake. I found a used rag in the bathtub area that was left behind & the room did not look like it had been vacuumed. There was food particles on floor & remnants of some flowers. Obviously housekeeping is not doing there job. Makes you wonder what else they missed or didn't bother to take the time to clean. I registered a complaint to the front desk who notified supervisor immediately. Just wish I had the power to remove all of our corporate business out if this hotel. Definitely writing a formal complaint to our HR dept. shameful. read more

I have stayed at the Delta Winnipeg many, many, times and always enjoyed the experience. I must say, this time I was super disappointed. It is now the Marriot. When I called to book for business, and asked for our corporate rate, I was told it was $131.00. That is actually more than their own posted online rate. They are ripping us off. I told the reservation person this and how I was a long term customer and very disappointed, and she basically told me "that's too bad" and then hung up on me!!! I needed a cot bed for another guest in our party so he could sleep comfortably in his own area, yet, when I called (twice) they still didn't have it taken care of 5 hours after I had asked. Bar, restaurants and coffee nook attached. Friendly and helpful staff. A little pricy at $210 for what you get but that depends on your budget and priorities. No breakfast included though some would say they are not worth much anyway. Not much in the way of shopping down town anymore. We don't come down town much anymore. There are more services in the Polo Park area and some hotels offer shuttles to down town events. Beware booking with third parties particularly by toll free phone. Worst Hotel Experience Ever do not stay here!! I booked a hotel room with the delta from july 21-23. I travel a lot and have even stayed in one star hotels who gave me better customer service than I received at the Delta. My cousin was and his girlfriend came in from Toronto to visit for a week I only get to see them once a year. I booked a two bed hotel room for my girlfriend, my cousin, his girlfriend and myself. I always had some problems going to the delta ( we stay there every year around this time) most of the problems are not a big deal. No mini fridge, pools not working that kind of thing not a big deal. But this time was the worst experience I have ever had at the hotel! They said I booked a one bed room not a two bed room. I called in to book. They said people over the phone cannot guarantee anything and " you get what you get" four of us can't sleep in one bed. I asked for atleast a cot. They said they don't have any but" you guys could sleep on the floor lots of people are doing it" I am not going to let my cousin and his girlfriend sleep on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!. I asked for a refund so we could go stay somewhere else and they said " no sorry we already have the money we cannot refund it!!! All they did was " give me free parking" even though I wasn't going to get parking I might as well. My cousin and his girlfriend went and stayed at a different hotel!! and me and my girlfirend ended up staying at the delta ! Worst Idea ever!!!. I looked at my bill and they CHARGED ME FOR PARKING and they said they cannot refund that even though the manager Kuljeee said it. I have been staying at the delta for 6 years every year. This will be the last I can not believe they would treat me like that. I have had way better service from a one star hotel. Please do not stay here! you will thank me! Very upset. The girl I was talking to at first was Irene and she got the manager named Kuljeee ( is what Irene told me her name was ) Kuljeee said all of the above stuff in the "". the only reason im giving 1 star is the staff was friendly and really tried. i had a tip returned because "management considered it a bribe" .... the breakfast.....ugh... the breakfast.... cold food , toast not done /soggy bread , no ketchup no jam unless u specifically ask for it.... which of course u cant wait for as the meals already cold and soggy. and how do u get ham instead of peameal in winnipeg??? eggs benny on soggy untoasted muffin with ham (mr subs version of peameal lol) .... balconies r ok ...views suck. bell guy didnt offer to bring bags up. (tho we tip well we dont look like we do so maybe thats why?) and the manager i think tried but i ended up being even more offended than before he addressed my complaint. very disappointed and hungry as i type this i couldnt eat the breakfast. :( ps. ive never written a bad review before but this was off. pps. delta toronto downtown 75 lower simcoe st is amazing always spectacular views and real 5* professional experience read more

Nice clean room, a tv that actually worked, decent wifi that didn't drop out. Not sure what else one would be looking for but this place did just fine. read more

Great place,Kevin the manager is awesome. Parking is a little rough but all and all its a 5 star.
