Staff…read moreare exceptionally responsive to your needs and concerns. - During the summer, from 2 pm till 9 pm, you can enjoy free slushies in the lobby. My rating is 4.5 stars. I'll round up. Hotel prices are ridiculous in Winnipeg. Even as a long-time Marriott Bonvoy member, I couldn't get a break. It has been the case for a good couple of years at least. I did something different. I stayed in Steinbach. I had never been. It was the best decision that I made staying at this Days Inn. I didn't mind a drive into Winnipeg. I stayed here for nine nights. I started off as a new Blue Wyndham rewards member. I left being Gold. It only takes five nights with a Wyndham hotel to make this jump. I can now do a late checkout (it would have cost me $20 as a Blue member) along with other perks. I never had a problem finding a parking spot. There are many. The lot is shared with Chuck's Roadhouse across from it. You can certainly smell the farmland, depending on which way the wind blows. If you have an electric vehicle, there is a single charging station for you. I only saw one electric car use it during my entire stay. Checking in was smooth. It was likely because a lot of the heavy lifting was done beforehand. Pre-checking consists of taking a photo of your driver's licence and entering your credit card information on a secure Wyndham site. You don't need to do the photo check at the hotel. You do need to swipe your credit card, though. I had the nicest man at the front desk. He was patient with my being distracted by a slushie machine at the counter. Free slushies from 2 pm till 11 pm every day?! Yes, please! He let me know that slushies run during the summertime. I already knew that I loved this place. I had a slushie every night. It was weird that my credit card wouldn't work with their machine. I used another one that worked fine. I got my room cards. I ended up on the third floor, which is the top floor. I got a welcome text from the front desk. It was nice. I used the texting service twice during my stay. My first question was whether it had a laundry room. It did! It's on the first floor, roughly three floors from my room. When I walked into my room, I was welcomed by a rubber duck on my nightstand. So cute! One morning, at 8 am, the TV in my room decided to power itself on. So weird. Was it possessed?! I got a network error. The wifi connection was fine. I texted the front desk for assistance. I was heading out anyway and a male staffer chatted with me about the issue downstairs and had also texted me. I also had a concern about the shower gel and conditioner running out in the shower. Housecleaning seemed to have forgotten to refill them for a while. This man took care of that concern, too. He was amazing! Housecleaning cleaned the bathroom and change my bedding every three days. I appreciated it. I'm not a slob and don't need that sort of cleaning every day. I just wished that this group looked at the shower gel. I clearly didn't go through all of it and the conditioner. It hadn't been topped up for a good month, I'd reckon. They were great changing my towels daily. I appreciated that, although I could have gone every few days with a change there, too. I woke up at 8 or 9 am, and stayed in my room watching TV or uploading photos to Yelp till 11 am or noon. Housekeeping still came once I was out of my room. One morning, the elevator wasn't working. I took the stairs down. It was all carpeted, which made me think how crazy cleaning it would be in the winter. It was fluffy when I walked down. My room was comfortable. It had two queen beds. One was left alone. I slept in the other. The air conditioning was extremely effective during the heatwave. No complains. My room had a fridge and a microwave. I liked having cold drinks and heating up ramen when I needed a snack. The bathroom was clean. The shower had good water pressure. It was spacious. No issues with anything other than the lack of shower gel. I did like that it had Dove products. There was free breakfast downstairs from 6 am till 10 am every day. It had hot foods, such as scrambled eggs and ham. I liked that there was fresh fruit. You could make your own waffles. There was also bread, muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, and more. It was decent. Recycling is interesting. You can only recycle beverage containers here. This hotel was nicely maintained and pretty quiet, except for kids who will also enjoy running down long hallways. I don't get it. I never did that as a kid. Checkout was equally as smooth. You did all that online. You could also tip specific groups, such as the front desk or housekeeping. I ended up splitting my tip between the two. I am going through slushie withdrawal symptoms and am contemplating getting my own slushie machine. I had a great stay at this hotel and getting to know Steinbach. I had the best vacation thanks to being rested and happy here. (241)

I spent last night at the Days Inn in Steinbach…read more It was nothing fancy but it was comfy ($110/night). I had two queen beds and I slept well. There was a minifridge, microwave oven and a Keurig coffee maker (along with two coffee K-cups and a tea K-up) in the room. WIFI was free ... it wasn't overly quick, though, at times. Parking was free and self-park in the parking lot. A continental breakfast (bagels, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, etc.) was included. From 5pm to 8pm last night, they served free soup. There was no restaurant in the hotel, though there is a Pizza Hut about a block away. There are other restaurants within driving distance. There is a mall a couple blocks away as is the Automobile City Monument.

What a lovely find. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, this week is the 55+ Games here in Steinbach,…read moreand basically every hotel was full tonight when I needed them most. Except $200 for a chain I won't name. Then, Google Maps sneakily suggested one other place for a much more reasonable rate on a 3rd party site. I jumped and prayed that Roadhouse would accept - I've had that declined in the past as "that site overbooks us all the time, sorry but we won't charge you at least." Today, the Lord answered my prayers (and that's a stealthy reference to all the Biblical quotes painted on the hotel walls), and my reservation was accepted. My room is quiet, spacious, comfortable. I got to use the hot tub and get that neck massage I've been needing so badly. The desk host is just such a lovely person. This is a memorable experience and, you know what? I'm glad I had to pay an extra $30-$40 over the budget motels for an experience this nice. I encourage you to do the same.

One star because it's pretty clean. Mattresses don't have box springs, no towel racks, no fans in…read morethe shower room or the separate toilet room, and the mirrors are made of 6 separate pieces of stick on mirror so your image is disjointed. Overall a lot of design choices obviously made to cut corners. It's basically a hostel. Long story short there is no elevator to bring guests to the second floor so we needed to switch my grandparents from the top floor to one they could actually walk to. The manager/owner, Lynette, was truly awful. She yelled at my mom for asking to change rooms and said we have only been trouble for her and were very rude over a simple request. When we asked for the manager she said we were out of luck because she's the manager and owner. Seems like there's no accountability there. Lynette said there were no other rooms available for us or my grandparents to change to but when my aunt arrived suddenly there were quite a few to chose from. Final detail, they charged our card on the first night of a 3 days stay even though we were assured we could pay with another card on our final day. We were the only ones charged in our large party and it seemed...petty. Overall a hilariously unprofessional place. Things just kept getting weirder.

The entertainment is incredible, always something happening at the pool Stage/tiki bar/main stage. My family has made so many incredible memories here throughout the years and we are always looking forward to our next stay. The resort let's you bring in your own food into the pool area (no franchise food) and your own alcohol. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the event weekends (Halloween in August, Christmas in July etc) are phenomenal. Staff is friendly and the owners are very easy to talk to. Lilac resort used to have mini golf, and I think they should bring it back!... Yes, I am that old! Just saying in regards to the review mentioning "swingers" that is nonsense, I've been a loyal guest since I was a kid and never seen anything remotely close to a "swingers" hub . Lilac is an excellent family vacation destination. Definitely check it out! You gotta book fast though, usually a year in advance for certain weekends.

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience - Racially Profiled in Front of My Family…read more I stayed at Lilac Resort with my wife and children just two days ago. The next morning, the owner approached me and said the RCMP had instructed him to record number plates of people staying long-term and "doing paving." I found this odd but said no problem. Later that evening, while having a BBQ with my kids, I was approached by an RCMP officer who said I had been reported as a paving scammer. I was shocked. He asked for ID and questioned me -- all based on a false report from the resort. I confronted the owner, and he tried to brush it off, but the RCMP made it clear it was him who called. This happened purely because I'm Irish -- a disgusting and offensive stereotype. I was treated like a criminal in front of my own children, for no reason other than my ethnicity. This kind of racial profiling is not only morally wrong -- it's also legally unacceptable. No one should be targeted because of where they come from. On top of that, I've seen others complain about the number of surveillance cameras around the hot tubs -- which I also found strange and inappropriate for a family setting. I do not recommend staying here. If you care about respect and basic decency, stay away.
