These donuts have it all: great flavor, light, light, light that they might float away. On our way back to Del Rio, we chose half a dozen. These people had a unique thing- if you choose filled donuts, they have a selection of"jellies and cream or puddings for you to choose from then they will fill it right there for you. Clever! These donuts tasted so great like french pastries.And even 2 days later, they tasted great! And you are satisfied with one donut because they taste Amazing! Stopped in here to grab donuts for a meeting at work and the staff was so nice. Even though their shop was crowded with customers they were organized and laid back and remembered the order people arrived so everyone got in and out pretty fast. Hubby tried their mini-kolaches but said they were dry and not that great. Ended up eating the full sized one we bought, that's what kept them from 5! However... I absolutely love this place. the smell of donuts and cakes in the morning is the best feeling in the world. The nice Korean lady greeted me warmly and warmed up my kolaches and the service was wonderful. A dozen donut holes hit the right spot. Always go to a Korean place for donuts. Not dunkin not Shipley. First of all, forget about thinking this place comes anywhere close to the 4 1/2 stars listed. That may have been under the old management. Now, I can't see any reason to muster up a rating of 1 star. And frankly, here's an opportunity for anyone out there that would like to open up a donut shop at a very lucrative location, you would be rewarded nicely while putting these guys out of business, which is hard to believe they are hanging on. I live around the corner from this place and go there every Wednesday. These new operators, a couple of "kids", no nothing about business, nothing about customer service and maybe only minimally skilled in donut making, which must not interest them very much as I walked in at 9am this morning only to find a total of maybe 12-15 donuts in the case and no one around making anymore. One young guy at the counter and that was it. People were flowing in behind me and I'm thinking, what's going to be left for them to purchase? This wasn't just an off day. I came by a couple weeks back at the same time and the place was closed altogether. I guess the kids decided to sleep in that day and not bother to open at all. No sign of explanation on the door. The donuts I did buy sucked. It was a plain that I got which to me, is a good indicator of the quality of their donut making. My guess is they are trying to run this place on a shoestring as they didn't even have anymore napkins to offer. I'm serious about letting prospective entrepreneurs know that a well run, good quality, friendly donut shop at this intersection (LBJ + 75, the High Five), will almost guarantee sure success. Daylight Donuts is a little shop located in a shopping center near Starbucks and Subway at the intersection of 635 and Coit. They don't serve trendy donuts with out of the ordinary toppings. They serve your basic glazed donuts, sausage rolls, and other sweet rolls. I wouldn't say their items are any better than another similar shop's baked goods, but every time I have stopped by, the food has been hot and freshly made. In addition, the staff has always been friendly. It's convenient to where I work, so I'll always stop by when I'm in need of a koloche. read more

The is is definitely a solid choice for donuts. Their glazed donuts are soft and fairly light (not Krispy Kreme light, but fairly light). The sausage rolls are also very good, the bread for those is delicious. The only negative I have is that I feel like I never get hot off the grease donuts. Although the donuts I've had there have always been very fresh, it's just not quite the same as getting one fresh from the grease. They also don't have a huge variety of donuts, so if you're looking for tons of choices you may want to go elsewhere. They will have all of your standard donuts though (glazed, chocolate, sprinkles, cake). read more
