The bill came to $25 for two. Pretty reasonable in this day and age.

This seemed to be a busier location, so it was nice to not have to wait. While the interior decor is dates, the booths were clean and comfortable enough to sit and eat at. Maybe it was just what we ordered, but I found the food to be slightly disappointing. Portion sizes are fair for the price. The sunny side up eggs, steak, and homestyle fries were good - not overcooked or too salty. However, the scrambled eggs seemed overdone, and the hash was much saltier than I expected. Also, the coffee tasted watered down and was too weak for our caffeine needs. We expected the coffee to be the standard drip brew, but it really didn't pass muster.

They now offer oat milk as a dairy alternative which is nice, so I ordered an oat latte which was very good. This was paired with the bacon Benny and home fries. Maybe it's because I'm a few months postpartum and hungry all the time (lol) but it all hit this time. I really enjoyed it and ate it all except for a few potatoes. The service was great too.

They get 4.5 stars…read more Buñuelos (Colombian Cheese Fritters) was a large ball. It was decent: spongy & light. Mar Y Tierra (Grill Mix) was pretty tasty though the flavour was a bit one-dimensional. There were many types of seafood in it: mini & normal shrimp, squid, mussels & octopus. The chicken and steak were in chunks. Though I got it for takeout, the fries were still a bit crispy when I had them. The dish was a bit salty (I have high salt tolerance). In the Sugar Cane Lemonade, the lemon predominated. But they're supposed to have pure sugar cane right now. Tequeños (Venezuelan Cheese Sticks) were large & slightly crispy. They were better than the buñuelos. Besides cheese in the dough a little was stuffed inside too. They had a nice springy texture. Tres leches (3 milks cake) was very good: rich, moist & light.

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Came here in the morning and there was absolutely nobody else aside from me. I ordered 2 early bird specials. 1 early bird special was 2 sausages, 2 bacons, 2 eggs and white toast for 7.99. The breakfast special is 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 2 eggs and white toast for 6.99. She suggests a different dish on the menu, but modified, but I insist on 2 early bird specials. I ordered twice the early bird specials here, so it should be twice the portion, right? Wrong. The server/maybe owner modifies my order to be 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 4 eggs, with a single serving of potatoes. Basically, I just ordered the early bird special, but paid an extra 7.99 for 2 eggs. If there's a taboo that was broken here, it's the fact that she straight up modified the order to mark me up almost 2x. Do not recommend.

Open face smoke salmon sandwich - the sandwich is a generous size and the ingredients are quite fresh. The combination of the ingredient between the smoked salmon, pickled onion and cucumber goes well together with the bread. I wouldn't this is the best sandwich I ever had but its a good sandwich. The 3 potatoes ball are good, warm and creamy. 2. Dutch style Caesar salad - this salad tastes different than the Caesar salad I normally had. They replace the croutons with something that also looks like croutons but tastes about like couscous (I could be wrong). I liked it. The "bacon", it's replaced with some other kind of fried pork belly. It's salt with some nice pork fat, it's guilty food for me but I loved it and goes well with the salad. 3. Mushroom salad - this salad has lots of different little ingredients and makes this salad great. The mustard vinegrette goes well with this salad. I enjoyed the food very much and would visit again but the total cost is about $63 for 3 items and not cheap in my opinion. I should of ask for the itemized receipt because I don't know how much each dish cost. It would be nice for them to provide the itemized receipt without me asking. Considering the good food quality but the price is abit on the high side, I was struggling if giving a 4 or 5 stars. I would want to give 4.5, so I round up to 5 this time
