In its defence, there was a little bit of chili heat added, but not enough to redeem the factory-made taste of the sauce. The General Tao Chicken was more like boneless buffalo wings. The sauce was heavy with something resembling Tabasco, and I don't know how you make deep fried chicken so dry! The portion sizes and prices at China Village are decent, but I'd happily pay more for less if I could have authentic flavours and freshness. There was very little about this meal that tasted Asian. Blindfolded I'm sure I'd have guessed I was eating bad pub food. If you're looking for a cheap way to fill up quickly, China Village might be your spot. If authentic dishes, flavour, and fresh ingredients are on your radar, you should probably keep going, because you're definitely not getting any of that here.
