We were so disappointed in the favourless food and small portions. We vowed never to go back. Fast forward to 2025 and Gold House is about to open up in a new location. I thought it might be worth a try again. Really bad idea. Supper long wait time for food and horrible tasting dishes with very little actual items in each dish, mostly filler such as lots of noodles or rice. I was horrified by the day glow coloured sauce on what turned out to be breaded chicken balls. It was ordered as Sweet and Sour Chicken. I had hoped that a new location might mean a new or better cook but apparently the old lady that owns Gold House is still there and it is shitty business as usual.

First off when you go inside, it is not a fancy place; don't let the plywood tables scare you off. It is so worth it. You can tell very quickly this is a family operation. Things are homemade, the spring rolls are impressive. Remember this; The portions are massive, you will be taking food home. On the back of their menu are authentic Chinese dishes; I ask his recommendation about a couple and took his advice. I got the Mongolian Beef "OMG". The layout of the land. Walking in to the restaurant, your immediately welcomed by a long bar/main desk. To the left and right are the rows of tables and booths. Behind the main desk/bar is a wall and behind the wall is the buffet tables. The way the buffet tables are laid out, does not make moving around to get your food very easy as their are directions on which way the flow should go in terms of getting your food. Overall, I feel as if the food here is catered very much to the area as some of the food lacks flavour and there is no chilli oil or sriracha available. Their "homemade hot sauce" comes at a price. No thank you.
