It was one of the recommended outfit to install snow tires I bought from the Web. I have since taken my car there for service twice. Once for a leaking tire and once for transmission maintenance. Entrance of this shop is at a back alley of No. Road, and the first impression is not at all impressive. One is likely to witness a wide variety of cars, from current models, to old classics, to one of a kind vehicle, under different stages of repairs as one winds his/her way into the office. It has no shinning floor and parts are scattered around. "Ordered messiness" might be an appropriate way to describe the shop. It sort of reminds me of the cluttered desk of one of the smartest professor I had at Stanford. But under this deceiving appearance, the shop is run by a crew of true professionals with good discipline, great service and unbeatable prices. It costed me $50 to repair a nail in my tire. A transmission service with full fluid change was $160, PARTS AND LABOUR included! It would have costed me more just to have the car examined at the dealership. On top of that, it opens until 9 pm! Which garage does that nowadays! I am a professional engineer with more than 30+ years of project experiences in aerospace. I have also been a car guys with five cars who still owns his first car (1971 Mustang) and changes his own oils. I know professionalism when I see it. It is definitely not easy for me to be impressed by an auto shop. --- I AM IMPRESSED BY CAR BOY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ---

They couldn't find a problem with the starter and recommended a new battery. $77 I had the battery checked and was told by the Brunette Battery that the problem wasn't with the battery. I eventually took my vehicle to another repair shop and they discovered the ferrule connector on the ignition signal wire was loose. They replaced the ferrule and the issue disappeared. In December 2025 the starter stopped working. When the new shop checked it out they told me the nut securing the power line from the battery had been cross-threaded and had worked loose causing short circuits. They suggested this was the probable cause for the starter/solenoid failure. While I'm unhappy with the quality of work done on the starter replacement, I feel ripped off on the "diagnosis" service charge as it appears they didn't put the car on the hoist, to check the starter connections, only testing the electrical systems from above, (under the hood).

Decided to give this place a try after having a bad experience at Henneken and found several online…read moresources recommending this shop. This shop is actually not on Palm, but at the back of a building that faces palm. The entrance faces the side alley. The shop looks fairly cluttered both in the shop area and office, but to me that really just means they work on that many cars. There was a lineup the entire time I was there. They have 2 hoists, though 1 was out of commission the day I was there. The office has a waiting area, but there is really not much there other than a vending machine. Thank goodness for smartphones. Victoria (the owner) was very familiar with the problem with my car, and mentioned all the various problems known for that model. These are problems that are plastered all over the various car forums out there but aren't officially recognized by the manufacturer. The fact that I didn't have to argue with her (unlike the dealership) made me feel much more comfortable trusting my ride with her. My timing chain was properly inspected, and she even let me into the shop area to take some photos of the various engine parts for my own records. Special mention here, as I truly appreciate a shop that doesn't treat their customers like idiots. I also requested that my alternator pulley be replaced. This job isn't difficult on paper, but requires a custom tool, and an insane amount of torque. The pulley on my car was so seized that they broke their tool, so I basically had to get this done elsewhere. They also changed out my serpentine belt (which had to come off for this job anyways) and charged me 0.7h. Not the best because the belt had to come off again for that pulley at a later date, but reasonable. Overall I was happy as my objective for the appointment was achieved, but there were 2 things where they can improve on. 1) The appointment literally took the entire day (8h) instead of the 1-2h I was expecting, because of that broken hoist. Thank goodness I had the day off and decided to stick around the area. If I had known this, I would've simply rebooked for a different day to make it easier for everyone. 2) When the tech replaced the valve cover, she routed the vacuum hoses incorrectly. I was wondering why my engine cover would no longer sit flush and was now getting squished by the hood. Fortunately I had a photo from before, so I was able to fix this when I got home. However, I feel the shop has a responsibility to put things back together properly. With that said, I do feel that the shop does try to do good honest work. I will be back for more mechanical servicing in the future.
