I…read moreonly had a small job I thought, replace a bathroom type ceiling exhaust fan that was in the laundry room of the house I had just recently bought. A malfunctioning exhaust fan is an odd problem to handle because electricians don't want to deal with duct work or anything they consider HVAC and HVAC people want to work on/replace furnaces or air conditioners not exhaust fans. Through Yelp I found and contacted Travis at Handyman Plus. He made an appointment and showed up right on time. The "broken" exhaust fan was not actually broken it turns out, nor was the switch which seemed to do nothing. It's a type of continuous running whole house exhaust fan unlike anything I had seen before. The wall switch which appeared like it might be broken wasn't it's just the way this fan operates. Travis got me all the information I needed to look up this fan and learn how to use it. A few weeks later I had a medicine cabinet I wanted installed in our master bathroom. As the wall area to be opened also housed the electric line to an outlet I asked Tarvis to do the installation. Again this was a small job, not the scale of work sought by many people in an up economy. Travis made an appointment, texted me when he was on his way and did an excellent job installing my cabinet; without hitting the power line or electrocuting himself. I'm really pleased with the work but more pleased overall with Travis of Handyman Plus. He is professional, thorough, capable and resourceful. I would not hesitate to call him for much larger jobs.

One was (approx.) $175/hr the other was (approx.) $100, they totalled over $600 for two hours of work. The ceiling fan still doesn't work. The hallway light was reinstalled & the fixture was left with cables sticking out. The attic access was damaged. There was drywall chips on the floor from working on a switch & attic access... no vacuum? Or who cares about a customer's house? End result: the hallway light was connected & they left a mess. $600+ Will NOT call back, or recommend.

They charged us for an inspection that was clearly not done properly, pushed us to replace perfectly functional parts at nearly 10 times the market price, and literally laughed in my face while telling me my HVAC system was "shitty" and needed to be replaced. Three days later, the system had another issue because they completely failed to identify the actual problem. We were then pushed yet again toward more interventions and more part replacements by a manager who had never even seen the HVAC system himself and could only give vague explanations about what the issue "could" be. When I later requested my file, pictures, and full documentation from the visit, nothing was ever sent. No transparency whatsoever. We finally contacted another amazing company ALTITUD BRO HVAC-- which I strongly recommend -- and unlike UHCPC, they actually inspected everything properly. They identified the issue immediately and charged us only $400 for something that probably would have cost us over $2,000 with UHCPC. What a joke. And the funniest part? They're apparently just as bad with plumbing. We worked with them in the past on another property and, after charging us over $20,000, not only were they unable to properly fix the issues, but they also damaged one of our showers. Matt Robledo, the owner, even told us he had to fire his plumber Dave because "he was not good" and promised us compensation or future repair credits. Of course, none of that ever happened. Once they take your money, they seem to forget your name very quickly.

2026 Update: One of the exterior irrigation pipes has cracked. After consulting with irrigation…read morespecialists, we were informed that the pipes installed during the 2025 repairs were designed for indoor use rather than outdoor applications. As a result, the exposed conditions caused the pipe to fail in less than two years. The irrigation contractor will repair the damaged pipe; however, it is likely that other pipes replaced during the 2025 repairs will experience similar failures over time due to the use of the same unsuitable materials.

They maintain high standards throughout the project and are super friendly and accommodating. They passed with flying colors on their first try, obviously impressing the inspector. I overheard the discussion between the inspector and one of the electricians and I was reassured when I heard the inspector say "I'd expect nothing less from you and your crew." My home warranty had Mile High Plumbing and Air do a service call on our A/C where the condensation line was leaking. AJ came on a Friday evening and recommended installing a condensation pump and a few other miscellaneous items. Great. He couldn't perform the work that day, so he said he'd send me a quote and provide his report to insurance the next day (Saturday). This was during a heat wave, so I asked I asked him to come back out as soon as possible. I didn't hear from AJ on Saturday, so I called his office on Monday to ask for the quote. The office said they'd contact AJ for the report and quote. On Wednesday, I still hadn't received the report or quote, so I called again to ask for the quote and to file the report with my insurance company since we needed that to perform the work. On Thursday, I still hadn't heard anything, and by this time, it had been five days since their initial visit. Temperatures were in the mid-90s, and my upstairs was nearly 90 degrees, with the family unable to sleep upstairs. We were all on inflatable mattresses downstairs. I called my home warranty company to see what to do since the report to them was due within 48 hours of the service call. The home warranty company called the office, which said they'd have the report in that day. On Friday, I called the home warranty company again who called Mile High Plumbing & Air again with no answer. The insurance company still hadn't received any report, and I hadn't received a quote for service yet. At this point, it had been a week since they did their initial visit without receiving anything, so I decided to schedule a meeting with another A/C company. The other A/C company came within a couple of days and installed the condensation pump in less than an hour. Problem solved. AJ seemed like a competent technician and was friendly, but after 4 follow-up calls to their office to get a simple quote (which never arrived) and on the schedule, there's no way I could recommend this company. If the company is too busy or something to perform the work, they shouldn't take a service call and shouldn't take 4 calls to get a simple quote. It's been over 2 weeks since the initial service call at this point and I still haven't heard back from them. Mile High Plumbing & Air cost me over a week of not having a working A/C unit, waiting for them to provide a simple quote for service and schedule a time to perform the fix, which is totally unacceptable for a critical service business.
