David (the owner) is very friendly, knowledgeable and patient because I'm picky (and wine illiterate), BUT I got a flight, and I'm so glad I did. I love this winery! Everything from the ambiance to the staff was great! I visited this establishment for the first time last night and was surprised with the amount of wines they offered. I loved this winery! I especially love fruit based wines, and they have plenty to choose from. The atmosphere is very cute and charming, and was voted amongst best romantic places to congregate. They even have games to play, such as a huge connect 4 and throwing game. Customer service was very personable and I really enjoyed the overall experience. Cute winery with weekend entertainment. They have different wines to choose from. The night we went, it was a jazz night. The place was empty, but it soon started filling up. We ordered a bottle of Nebbiolo. I had never heard of the grape. I thought the wine was good and it wasn't expensive to get a bottle. It was cheaper than each of us getting a glass. My friend likes sweeter drinks, so she ordered a slush. She was happy with her drink. They sale charcuterie boards and small snacks. There's inside and outside seating. Parking is on site, but shared and limited. The barkeep that day was nice. She was able to point me to the right wine. read more

I have heard nothing but good things about this place so I was pretty stoked to check it out. The long line of people waiting BEFORE it even opened & the hundreds of preorders waiting outside had me excited to try their wine. I was genuinely disappointed. The staff was friendly, incredibly thankful for the support & were moving fast so everyone wasn't waiting to long in the Texas heat. The disappointment was sadly the wine. We ordered 3 different types: cranberry, blueberry, and the Malbec. The fruit ones were all watered down tasting. If you handed me the cranberry or blueberry flavored one and told me to guess, I'd honestly have no idea what I was even drinking. $15 a bottle and it tastes worse than the $5 ones you can get at H‑E‑B. I'm still crossing my fingers that the Malbec one is good. Overall I do want to try them again just based on service because maybe I didn't order the best flavors or wine they have there BUT if the wine I got today is any indication on their products then I'm not sure why they're so popular. read more

My friend and stopped in for a tasting. We had 6 pours for $12. There was a good variety of dry reds, whites and sweet wines. I'm a dryvred wine dan but didn't find anythat I tried to be all that dry. My friend I both found the Malbec to be our favorite at got a glass. They also offer 2 flavors of wine slushies but we did not try them. There are some wine related merch for sale as well, coasters, wine stoppers, etc. The location has plenty of street parking and some right out front. There some knick knack shops nearby as well a bbq place across the street. Was a fun place to go and not have to drive out to Fredricksburg! This is my favorite place to buy bottles of wine. My favorite red wine they have is called the Black Forest Port--it tastes like chocolate covered cherries. Another sweet wine they have is the Strawberry Riesling, which is another favorite. My husband likes the Brunello, which is a much drier wine. The location is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and let us try different wines to see what we liked best. They also offer a military discount. I highly recommend this winery. You can pop in just to buy a bottle or you can relax with friends and family and enjoy a glass of wine. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. read more

Everything about Helotes Creek winery says southern charm. From the people to the ambiance. It is located in the old Bandera area and is surrounded by little cute antique shops/ bakeries/ and boutiques! There's are tons of tables and chairs outside on the patio under huge oak trees! When walking inside you are greeted by all the workers at the desk. Once there you are handed a menu with the all the wines and the price for a glass/bottle. At the bottom of the menu there is an option for wine tasting which includes trying which ever wine you would like and keeping a free wine glass for just $8! I did this option to get a chance to try all the yummy wine! They do offer discounts for teachers and military! The majority of the wines they hand craft in house are sweet, and a few dry wines. They get their grapes from California to Texas and Italy for some of their specialty wines! Aside from all the wines on the menu that they have all year around they also make seasonal wines, ports and frozen wine! After trying majority of the wine. I picked my favorite, the Strawberry Riesling which was absolutely delicious. The strawberry wasn't over powering at all, I highly recommended you trying it and taking home a bottle. Or even drinking it at the winery outside or inside for a relaxing evening! My favorite part besides trying all the different wines was taking my frozen strawberry/watermelon wine outside and sitting on a patio chair in the shade while listening to Frank Sinatra playing over the speakers. This small winery in Old Town Helotes is a priceless jem. Colleen and Gloria operate the winery like your part of the family. Their known for making a variety of sweet wines, Reds, Whites and their delicious Port wines. The hit this summer is thier frozen wine slushies. They always have two rotating flavors and you can get them as a swirl if you like. On weekends you can get Sangria pitchers with fruit chunks added. If you get hungry order some cheese food trays to pair along with the wines. The place has plenty of seating inside and outside with oak trees providing plenty of shade. Make sure you check out thier merchandise, koozies and mini tumblers as well. You'll be happy you came and you'll definitely be back for more. read more

This winery is quaint. And it's close to where we live. Happy that I can go here instead of driving all the way to Hill Country. We came here for my bday so I guess it was a perfect time to come! It wasn't busy at all. We got service right away, soon as we walked in. I had the wine tasting and the glass came with the price. I tasted 2 dry reds and 3 sweets. I ended up ordering a glass of Brunello and ordered my husband their Peach Chardonnay since he loves peaches. I bought 3 of their wines and 4 of their summer size wine (similar to a beer bottle that's equivalent to 2.5 glasses of wine). Highly recommend this winery. The only con is they don't have that much wine selections and most of their wines are semi sweet- sweet. We will come here again in the future. read more

Oh my goodness I love this wine. Reasonably priced too. The Blueberry Shiraz is my favorite. No added sugar makes this fruity wine excellent. Great friendly owners. And I was not ashamed I know little about wines- but I know what I like! My snooty wine friend liked it too. Can't say enough about this place.
