I love this winery! Everything from the ambiance to the staff was great! I visited this establishment for the first time last night and was surprised with the amount of wines they offered. I'm more of a sweet wine girl and enjoyed not only the Strawberry wine but also Karma. Pricing here is great and affordable as well! On top of the great wine was the cute decor as well as the staff who was friendly and offered great suggestions based off your personal preferences. I highly recommend visiting this winery and I know I'll be back!

I loved this winery! I especially love fruit based wines, and they have plenty to choose from. The atmosphere is very cute and charming, and was voted amongst best romantic places to congregate. They even have games to play, such as a huge connect 4 and throwing game. Customer service was very personable and I really enjoyed the overall experience. The winery is located in a very Western type village, which is great for sightseeing. Would highly recommend!

I have heard nothing but good things about this place so I was pretty stoked to check it out. The long line of people waiting BEFORE it even opened & the hundreds of preorders waiting outside had me excited to try their wine. I was genuinely disappointed. The staff was friendly, incredibly thankful for the support & were moving fast so everyone wasn't waiting to long in the Texas heat. The disappointment was sadly the wine. We ordered 3 different types: cranberry, blueberry, and the Malbec. The fruit ones were all watered down tasting. If you handed me the cranberry or blueberry flavored one and told me to guess, I'd honestly have no idea what I was even drinking. $15 a bottle and it tastes worse than the $5 ones you can get at H‑E‑B. I'm still crossing my fingers that the Malbec one is good. Overall I do want to try them again just based on service because maybe I didn't order the best flavors or wine they have there BUT if the wine I got today is any indication on their products then I'm not sure why they're so popular.

My friend and stopped in for a tasting. We had 6 pours for $12. There was a good variety of dry reds, whites and sweet wines. I'm a dryvred wine dan but didn't find anythat I tried to be all that dry. My friend I both found the Malbec to be our favorite at got a glass. They also offer 2 flavors of wine slushies but we did not try them. There are some wine related merch for sale as well, coasters, wine stoppers, etc. The location has plenty of street parking and some right out front. There some knick knack shops nearby as well a bbq place across the street. Was a fun place to go and not have to drive out to Fredricksburg! Oh, and they were playing 80's music so extra credit for that

We had a great time here today. Wine tastings are back. I loved that you get 6 with a glass for just $10. The owner was very nice and informative. The outdoor area was relaxing as well. Definitely a fun and safe way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

This is my favorite place to buy bottles of wine. My favorite red wine they have is called the Black Forest Port--it tastes like chocolate covered cherries. Another sweet wine they have is the Strawberry Riesling, which is another favorite. My husband likes the Brunello, which is a much drier wine. The location is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and let us try different wines to see what we liked best. They also offer a military discount. I highly recommend this winery. You can pop in just to buy a bottle or you can relax with friends and family and enjoy a glass of wine. There is indoor and outdoor seating available.

You'll enjoy Stephen's great attitude and sense of humor, too!

Great people who treat you like family(we love Esteban!), good wine, and an adorable, sweet bulldog, Bella, as your welcoming committee, make HCW the perfect stop! My husband and I like very different wines, and we found a chilled glass of both our favorites here. Step out to enjoy the weather and comfort of the porch, or stay inside and enjoy a fun conversation with the owners and employees, locals, and other visitors; whatever type of experience you want, you will find here. We look forward to stopping by for a visit and a glass of wine, any time we are in the area. Go and enjoy!

I was…read morethe first to arrive around 130pm, but about 4 other couples walked in not 10 mins after me. It was a fairly hot day for the end of winter, so I chose to sit inside. They have a handful of high top tables and about 17 different wines on the tasting menu. The prices for the bottles range from $24 - $165. One interesting note, the grapes are currently grown in Lubbock due to the water shortage in this area, but they have some vines that are being replanted on this property so maybe in a few years they will be ready. They do have some snacks to try/purchase in the cold case, and more dry snacks that aren't refrigerated on the other side of the room. Since we hadn't eaten lunch yet, we grabbed a meat and cheese from the refrigerated case for $10 Restrooms are in a side building adjacent to the tasting room building. I tried the El Jardin, Albarino, Cinsaut, Sangiovese, Mourvedre, and Cabernet Franc. We also sampled a 1/2 pour of the Nectar du Terroir which is a fortified dessert wine instilled with brandy. I liked it but just be warned that it is strong at 17%. El Jardin - light white wine easy to drink; would go well with seafood Cinsaut - sort of like a pinot noir but slightly bitter Sangiovese - fruity similar to cinsaut but not as bitter Mourvedre - tasted similar to cinsaut but slightly better Cabernet franc - the best of the bunch, pretty smooth Overall, we enjoyed our experience here but are not huge wine drinkers and didn't really find one we were in love with. We didn't end up taking home any bottles but will always enjoy the memories. One note, their wine is reportedly not sold at liquor stores, but it is sent to select wine bars throughout Texas, so you may find it in your town; otherwise, the only other ways to get it is through their website, or by visiting the tasting room just outside of Boerne. They do not have a tasting room in Lubbock where the grapes are grown.

My family and I went to La Contrada Vineyard and kitchen to attend a couple Goat Shenanigans events where we did goat yoga and painting with the goats at the vineyard and it was pure fun! I could not stop giggling the whole time. Throughout our yoga session, the goats would hop right onto your back as you did various yoga postures, and you could feed the goats while stretching in the sunshine. My daughter joined me during goat yoga and it turned into such a fun, bonding day for both of us. I suggest going during a time when you can enjoy the weather since this is mostly an outdoor facility. When we went the weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and the whole experience was enjoyable. We didn't order any food or drinks since we were at the vineyard for the Goats Shenanigans events (yoga and painting) however the breathtaking views alone, make it worth it to check this place out. Highly recommend if you want something unique and peaceful. The staff was also friendly and accommodating.

My sister is a member and hosted her 50th birthday here, so we expected a much higher level of organization and service. The party had already started and the rest of our group was there--we arrived late due to work and ordered food immediately when we got there. Right after placing our order, we were told we had to leave soon, so we asked to cancel it. Instead of handling this professionally, a staff member (River Dan) laughed and told us the food was "almost ready" because it had supposedly been placed 15 minutes earlier--which was not true. Another person in our party had ordered the exact same pizza before we did and was still waiting on theirs. We canceled our order, and their pizza didn't come out until about 10 minutes later. That makes it very clear ours was not "about to come out" like we were told. The explanation we were given simply didn't add up. Throughout the evening, staff seemed confused about orders. Drink service was also frustrating. I asked what a "zinpom" was, was told it was basically a juice wine, declined it, and specifically ordered a Sangiovese--yet I was still given the zinpom and then it was attempted to be charged to us. What made things worse was how the event itself was handled. My sister was never clearly given an end time when reserving the table. We were only told to leave about 15 minutes before the cutoff. At other wineries, guests are usually allowed to move to a general seating area after a private event ends, but here the only option was to leave entirely. Overall, the lack of communication, poor organization, and dismissive attitude from staff really overshadowed what should have been a special celebration. We expected much better, especially for a member-hosted event. If this is how members are treated, especially those who continue to frequent this place despite ongoing service issues, I can't imagine how non-members are treated

The setting is beautiful, the staff at the vineyard were friendly and welcoming, and the wine was tasty. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and time with friends. However, the food truck experience was a big letdown and honestly the main reason we're hesitant to return. I paid $12 for a hot dog combo (pictured)--just a single hot dog and a small bag of chips. That price felt excessive for what we received. The kids' burger was $8 and was tiny...about the size of a quarter dollar with melted cheese and chips. The value just wasn't there. What made things worse was the service. Our friends ordered the exact same food right before us and received theirs much earlier. We waited about 40 minutes longer for the same order. It was frustrating, and it did make us wonder if my earlier comment about the hot dog price being extreme played a role. The kids were all still hungry. The vineyard itself is lovely and worth visiting, but I strongly recommend reconsidering the food truck setup...either pricing, portions, or vendor choice. The food experience didn't match the quality of the venue, and it definitely affected our overall impression.

Even if I needed a place to "get drunk" on wine I wouldn't choose here- the prices are ridiculously high. Seriously. A bottle of the same varietal and label was cheaper at H-E-B than it was for a GLASS of it here. The Cabernet I had tasted stale and old- almost musty/moldy. The wines did not appear to come from the vaunted "Cibola Creek Vineyards" (if that even exists). Sort of like a smattering of varietals purchased at H-E-B or Costco and up-charged to sell to here. I've been to wineries around the world: from Germany to Portugal and from France to Napa Valley... and this is not a winery- it's just a bar. The inside is also warm and welcoming -- great decor, lots of seating (a couch!), and a great big bar with barstools in the middle of it all. It was really cold and rainy out, so we opted to stick inside for this visit, but they have fire pits in the back area, with tables and chairs and twinkle lights and all -- they even offer blankets and s'more fixin's to go with it. We tried their housemade Sangria and it was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness. We also ordered the Charcuterie Plate -- they do not skimp on the goodness. Salami, ham, prosciutto, 3 kinds of cheeses (including brie!), different types of crackers, hummus, green grapes, red grapes, strawberries...I'm telling you, legit. I probably even missed listing some of the items, the spread was that extensive. Word on the street is they've brought some killer sliders to the menu recently, as well, so will be returning to try those ASAP. We were there in the early afternoon, so we did not get to experience this, but they have live music in the evenings and a trivia/karaoke night on Thursdays, we were told.
