We popped in on Saturday to grab a giant brekkie to set ourselves up for a busy day of trekking around town and chores. If you have had a breakfast in Wetherspoons before, you'll know that for around £5 you can consume nearly 1,500 calories in one sitting with lashings of beans, meats and toast. I always forget this branch of the popular pub chain exists! Moseley is filled with so many good independent pubs (the Fighting Cocks, The Bulls Head and, of course, the legendary Prince of Wales) that it's not somewhere I would choose to go on a night out. Saying that, again, you know what you're getting. The food is always passable, the drinks are cheap and the selection is pretty good. They've recently included a lineup of craft ales and gins, so you can at least find something you will like (and end up spending much less on a round than in some of the other pubs in the area). On a Saturday morning (at 9:30am) there were already what I assume to be the "regulars" sipping on an ale, but it wasn't too busy, noisy or raucous. The place was pretty clean and the service was quite fast. All in all, if you're looking for somewhere to grab a bite or a quick drink, you could do worse than popping in here. Not a destination for a night out though - maybe just a pre-drink before heading somewhere with more atmosphere.

Yet we are not dog owners - No bitches with me. Seated us outside of restaurant in bar. Not willing to change eventhough I explained I have an injury seating is uncomfortable. Instead Mgr came to our table accussing me of being rude. Humiliation of a paying guest - where is that in Customer Service Training? When took our mains order Supervisor who noted the booking (with mystery dog left me out!). At end I went to pay for our party of 6. Was about to pay served by a member of staff who looked like an adult at till. Gen Mgr pushed me away. No excuse me, sorry, she barked at me rudely."I don't want to talk to you". Shockingly rude! Have Chronic Pain, being touched pushed is painful. Kept interrupting my Convo staff member serving me. How was I to know she was underage, just the lovely young lady who took our order with a bottle of Champagne. If underage and don't want her interacting with customers why employ her to take orders of alcohol etc. I was tearful. Then cake cutting the Supervisor brought over the wrong cake! If they let me finish explaining during payment they would have known which cake not the specially made one for a 30th Birthday! My son was 21yrs old and had a small cheesecake. I drove in pain from Surrey to Brum to take my precious son out for a 21st B'day lunch. Met with such hostility for a Special Occasion. Village so obsessed by dogs make up fictitious pets for diners and when they try to explain, discuss, call them rude. Unprofessional I regret just paying up in full for this horrendous experience. This level of service would be subject to a discount. 223 pounds - needs a part goodwill refund. I am still low close to tears. Meant to be a happy occasion.

This time we were seated in the front half of the restaurant which is a little bright for my liking, but the restaurant was not overly full and had a pleasant atmosphere. Upon arrival we ordered a portion of bruchetta to nibble on while browsing the menu. Considering there were three of us, I was pleasantly surprised that one portion was large enough to keep us all going. This is definitely a starter to share as it would be too large for one. When eating at Italian restaurants I tend to avoid pasta dishes, simply because I usually find that they are quite small (and I have a big apetite). However, this time I was drawn to the Rigatoni Salmone e Granchio (pasta with salmon and crab meat in a slightly creamy tomato sauce). When the food came I was amazed to see that the portion was huge. The food was also piping hot, another novelty for most restaurants. We topped off the meal with a cheesy garlic pizza bread. Overall, the food was lovely and great value for money. By the end of the meal we were all full to capacity, and pleasantly tipsy, all for less than £20 a head

We had recently come back from Italy when we went so had experienced authentic Italian food. We both agreed we would defiantly go back, my boyfriend had a pizza and I had a steak. They were both really good, I had the biscuit/ice cream desert which is one of the best deserts I've ever had. I would solely go back just to have it again. We had 3 courses each and paid about £60, it would have been about £50 if I hadn't had the steak but it was worth it and would highly recommend this restaurant.

The bar area is a pretty modern space, but still making the most of the older features and design. The bar is well stocked, with a top selection of beers and spirits that the bar staff are more than happy to chat about. The prices here are pretty standard for the area, not the cheapest in Brum but definitely not shocking. I love the fact that dogs are allowed inside here. In the time it took me to finish my Bloody Mary, two dog owners came to the bar with their animals not far behind. It's pretty rare to see such a relaxed vibe towards animals in a pub like this, for me it all adds to the charm. Worth a visit!

I've not eaten here but the menu has some modern flavours and smaller plates.
