I come here for eyebrow threading right after I get off the subway from work. A quick 5 mins and $7. It's always welcoming and staff are very nice. I recommend this salon if you are want a quick stop in and prices that aren't outrageous! read more

I have been going to Dawa for my eyebrow threading for years at their old location but their new location is a huge upgrade - and no stairs to climb (lol). I stopped by early one morning to get my eyebrows done. The Eyebrow Threading ($6) is done really well here. They do great cleanings and don't mess with the eyebrow shape at all. And they're quick! The prices here are reasonable and all within the same range as their competitors in the area. They also have a stamp card that you can use to redeem a free eyebrow threading after 10 visits! If you're looking for a threading/waxing spot, Dawa is pretty good! read more

I visited Dawa today to get my eyebrows threaded and to get a French gel manicure. The prices were reasonable for the area (eyebrows-6, French gel mani 40). I was very pleased with how both my eyebrows and manicure turned out. The salon itself is spacious and clean. Definitely recommend this place, especially if you live in the area. read more

Dawa Threading Salon - Pricing - Threading Services Near Me - Astoria, New York

The woman who claims to be the manager named Seren took a chunk of my eyebrow then claimed I came in that way. Since she messed up the first brow and I called her out on it she half-assed the second. I showed her photos of what my brows looked like before that clearly show no bald spot. She said my hair must be falling out! I'm beyond disappointed in how she handled it. I didn't want to be accused of theft of service so I paid her without tipping even though I think she should have gotten nothing. read more

Best threading around!!! You even get a brow massage afterwards, I've never had that done anywhere else in NYC. ask for Tenzin!

Love this place! Sure, you have to walk up a flight of stairs, but the service is always dependable and the price can't be beat. For $6.00 you can have your eyebrows done and with a membership card (it's free) you get the 10th eyebrow cleaning free. Tip: This place specializes in threading. If you prefer hot wax they will use it, but they usually follow up with more threading. read more

Great place for threading. However, They should definitely reconsider their nails services. I've been coming here for months, and the lady charged me $13 to only remove my gel ( She said 8 dollars to remove it and 5 for cutting my nails). It's the first time I've been to a nails salon where they charge to cut your nails, after removing their gel. This is hilarious, maybe I should pay also for sitting on the chair. To whom it may concern, maybe it's time to start giving a damn about your customer loyalty. read more

The ladies are Darlings and I will be back. I got a pedicure with Gel and I'm Gelly!

I've been coming here for the past 3 years (including at the old location) for threading and I've only gotten amazing service. While there tends to be a line, every session is quick and thorough. It's $10 for eyebrows and upper lip so it's definitely a good price. read more

Dawa Threading Salon - New location! What an improvement. - Threading Services Near Me - Astoria, New York

Review for Eyebrow Threading Only: I have really thin brows that I've been trying to grow out and reshape. I had so many people do my brows that took off too much hair and I'm traumatized. I had an amazing lady in Astoria who did them but she moved. I tried this place one day and Siri did them. She listened and cleaned them up. She didn't take off too much hair. She was really nice. I went back today but she wasn't there. I asked for someone good 'cuz I have thin brows and Tenzin did my brows. She told me everyone is good and I didn't want to tell her some of the yelp reviews disagree. Lol. I ended up doing my whole face - threading $25 btw. When I said how much is xyz she was honest and said actually that's $23. So I did that instead. I didn't need my whole whole face threaded. She suggested I wax my cheeks instead of thread 'cuz it would hurt less. When I declined she was agreeable. Not pushy. She's gentle and thorough and really sweet. She did a great job. I'd go back to her again. Both women are gentle. Clean and spacious. read more

This place is absolute trash...they do not follow Covid 19 rules for threading eyebrows. The lady was in rush didn't listen to what I wanted at all. Half way through I noticed instead of the string wasn't around her neck it was in her mouth with a mask over it. She said this is how we do it. I told her for safety you're suppose to put it around your neck and do the threading. She argued with me. It's ridiculous. BEWARE of this place. read more

My favorite threading place! The women here are so nice and always make you feel welcomed. The price can't be beat. My gel nails would always stay for 2+ weeks. Highly recommend read more

This is one of the best places to thread your eyebrows. They have extreme soft hand, I never feel a tug on my eyebrows, PAIN FREE! Staff are wonderful people and they really take the time to get to know you and make you feel welcomed every time you visit! 10/10 OVERALL!!! read more

Do NOT get your nails done here (eyebrow threading, yes). The first two pictures are of the powder gel I got done there. At 9 pm after 2 hrs of them messing up nails and redoing them (and me not having eaten since lunch) I paid and left just wanting to get out of there, letting them know I'd be back to get the messed up nails fixed. That night I realized that ALL the nails were not right, so I went back the next day and asked for a refund. They said that they couldn't. So I asked if they could take them off and do gel instead. They did...that's the last two pictures. Not much better at all. I would NOT recommend getting nails done there. The last pic is of my dirty nail after my pedicure. I wouldn't have complained about this had the manis not been so terrible. read more

Dawa Threading Salon - Threading Services Near Me - Astoria, New York

I love Dawa and I feel very fortunate to have this nail salon less than one block from where I live. There's one technician in particular who is such an angel. She does an amazing job. I love coming in when it's quiet because they really take their time and it's so relaxing. It's not the cheapest place in Astoria (mani/pedi is $31) but I prefer to pay a little extra to have my nails not chip the next day. read more

DAWA is awesome. I've gone here a few times, mostly to get my eyebrows threaded and my lip waxed, but I once came for a spa package which included a manipedi and a facial as well. First and foremost, the place is CLEAN. With all the crazy cheap places in Queens, sometimes this important element is lost on salon owners. Dawa is spotless. Secondly, the ladies who work here are super sweet and attentive, and the atmosphere is calm. I've been to a couple of salons where the women are running around like their heads were cut off trying to help 10 people at a time, but even when they have a rush, I don't feel neglected at DAWA. Thirdly, it's cheap. In fact, the only place that is cheaper than DAWA in the area is the cosmetic school on Steinway. They have awesome specials and packages so you can get the day spa experience without breaking the bank. Love them :) Finally, the end result is great. Never had a problem with the threading or waxing besides maybe a stray hair or two that I didn't notice while I was there that I could easily pluck out myself. read more

It is very hard to find a place where I like (in terms of Beauty) but this place I like. It isn't so visible since it is on the 2nd Floor, but its' a cute and clean little spot upstairs by Subway. I went to see how their threading skills. I was a happy camper when she was finish. I really liked the attention to detail this lady had with my face as she made sure that she took off every visible hair. I also went back to get a quick manicure the next day. Not bad, no complaints. I will definitely come back because they offer lots of service. They do facials, manicure, pedicure, massage, brazilian wax, etc... The only thing they are missing is a Hair stylist (that would be awesome). I hope that this will become my new favorite place because I can get beautified all in one place without running around town to get pretty. Next time I will go for their Special: Face Clean, Eyebrows, Mani & Pedi, 30 Minutes Massage and a Brazilian Wax for $95. Not Bad. Will come back. The place is cute, the employees are nice, quite and friendly, they have a good attention to detail and the price isn't too pricey for Astoria. Mani & Pedi for $15 Mon-Wed :) That makes me happy. read more

Quick and decent threading services. Haven't been there for anything else, but it's close by my place and cheap! It's clean and the ladies who work there are courteous and know what they're doing. They listen when you ask them to just clean it up and not make your eyebrows too thin read more

I went to this place for my first time manicure, so I really don't have much to expect from. What the result was even worse than my doing it at home. Polish was not evened, my nails were not fully covered, edges were so uneven that I feel like to remove it right away. The reason why I couldn't remove it is because the so called artiest made three of my toes bleed! It hurts so much that I can't even walk straight. I wish I could get my money back which they charged me $60 for this horrible job. I would never go back again. read more

Every time I visit it's empty so I love that there's never a wait! I've visited threading salons that felt very unwelcoming but when you walk in here a nice lady says "hello" first! A business employee should always say hello first when a customer walks in so i felt welcomed. I have 1 funky eyebrow i was born with. It just naturally doesn't match the other brow but they work their magic here and shape it to match! They do such good work here. Eyebrow threading is 6 dollars. Upper lip threading is 4 dollars. They also give you a card you can get signed after every visit. 7 visits and you get a free threading! If you use a card they will charge you a tiny fee for that (around 50 cents) and you can add your tip to the card which is convenient! GO for a good threading in a welcoming salon! read more

I've been getting my eyebrows done here since 7th grade... I'm now a graduate student in University. My loyalty does not go unexplained. I love Dawa as if she were my own family member. I'm very particular about my eyebrows, and Dawa meets every single one of my needs. I'm honestly willing to wait as long as she needs, which is often no longer than 10 minutes. The ladies are all so wonderful, the place is so clean and well-kept. No better place to get your eyebrows/nails/wax in Astoria!! read more

It was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded and I really liked this place! The lady who did my brows was really polite. The brows came out great, nicely shaped, not too thin and natural looking. And it was only $6 for the eyebrows! They have a frequency card, so you can get the seventh eyebrow threading free. Remember to tip also! read more

Don't let the location fool you. Despite the fact that this salon is located above a Subway sandwich shop and the only access is via a grimy set of stairs, Dawa Salon is super clean, bright, and quiet. I go to Dawa to get my face threaded, and I'm always happy with the results. Prices are reasonable, and these ladies are nothing if not thorough. However, at times I feel as though the ladies could be a bit kinder about the way they dish up helpful criticism. They are incredibly blunt when it comes to discussing any skin blemishes or imperfections. I chalk it up to a cultural barrier, or perhaps it's their way of driving sales, but I think there are more tactful ways of attaining the same goals. Visiting a salon should be a positive experience - not one that makes you feel bad about yourself afterwards. read more

The reason I gave 2 stars is because customer service is terrible. I was told 6 months ago that if I gave them my phone number than every 10th eyebrow would be free. I went 5 times and each time they put in my phone number so I thought I was accumulating points. Last time I went Siri told me I didn't have an account and she just made it for the first time. When I confronted her she told me this deal is new and didn't exist during COVID (which is a not true). Many reviews have pointed out there is no accountability at this place. Each person tells you different things and when they get caught in a lie, no one even apologizes. read more

This was my first time getting my brows threaded (I usually tweeze), but I'm happy with the results. I also got a pedicure. I had to wait a little bit between services, but for $19 (that's right, total), I can't complain! Will definitely be back :) read more

I've only been in Astoria for a few weeks and I've found many gems. This is one of them! They are really sweet and professional, I came on a random weekday afternoon, and had my eyebrows done, they also gave me a lengthy eye area massage right after. They did a great precise job, and I never felt rushed or hurried along. Only warm and kind vibes, I will be back. read more

$18 for a leg wax? Hell yeah! The staff here is quick and very professional. And it's so affordable, you can give a big tip and feel like a high-roller. The surroundings are quite bare bones though, and it's not for germophobes. read more

Love this place, the owner is extremely friendly and so is staff. Haven't been disappointed.

Fast, friendly, did a great job and for a great price. This was my first timing having my eyebrows professionally done, and they do a great job shaping and cleaning up. Also got my upper lip waxed and it was quick and painless. I will go back! read more

Great, friendly and patient staff! I wont let ANYONE else touch my eyebrows but these gals. So affordable and such a great experience.

I've lived in Astoria for over 10years and when I first moved here I try as many local places however I've never felt more comfortable in any other place but here. I always get my eyebrows and nails done. Absolutely love this place. All the ladies are kind, sweet and welcoming. :) read more

Very rude. Was getting my nails done by some lady and another customer comes in. Lady doing my nails tells me to wait and someone else will finish painting my nails which would be another wait. Literally had one more coat to go. Salon only wants more money. Does not give customers 100%. Leaves service undone. read more

First a lady started threading me and then left to do someone else. Then another one continued and double dipped the wax right in front of me. Dirty, disgusting and unsanitary, horrible job and service. read more

Do not come here! I have been getting my eyebrows done for 15 years and unfortunately these ladies had no idea what they were doing. It took the beautician about 4 try's before she was even able to make my eyebrow shape even. Further the customer service was entirely rude and unprofessional. Take your business elsewhere where you will get competent and professional service. I was trying to support a new business, but very disappointed with how unprofessional they were. read more

...aaaaaand, they just lost my business. I had been going here for weeks now (I used to go to Priti women on B-way and since this one's closer to work I changed) but will never return due to their shady, bush-league, pathetic business practices. Went in for a mani/pedi. Forgot the name of the woman who did my nails but it wasn't Dawa herself. So she starts doing my manicure after an uneventful pedicure-- it was a weekday, they were not busy and the price is $18 M-W for mani-pedis (typical in Queens). She asks, as she is about to start, if I want a nail hardening base coat. I say "sure." Then she does two coats of polish and then as she's about to add topcoat she asks if I want quick-dry. I say, sure. I mean, why wouldn't I want quick-dry? Then when I go to ring up, my $21 in hand--figuring 18 for mani and $3 tip, she says, $22. I say, huh? she then says, well, you asked for special base coat and quick dry! WTF?? What kind of shadiness is this? Trying to nickel and dime your customers out of $2? I say, show me where it says "quick dry" and "special base" are extra. She says, well, I asked you for it and it's $2 each. No where on their menu of services is there a mention of extra pricing for "special" top or base coats Then, I said, you should have told me there was an extra charge. If you say, for example, "do you want a bikini wax and a 1-hr facial?" I would PRESUME these are not FREE services because I can clearly see the prices listed on the wall for both. Yet, nowhere does it say quick dry (which is a bottle of polish sitting right next to the other topcoat) costs extra. She keeps to her same innocent line of "you asked for it. it's $2" Like NO, you refused to tell me that it costs extra. To eek out $4 from loyal customers speaks of a middling, low-rent, money grubbing business who regrets offering an $18 mani-pedi and thus finds ways to overcharge customers. They just lost my business, and I hope you stop going there too. read more

I usually do my own eyebrows, but I went here on a recommendation from a friend. She did a really good job of shaping my brows, but made them a little too thin... probably my own fault as I should've told her how I like to keep my eyebrows.
