I was sucked in by the reasonable prices and decided to walk-in to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. I enjoyed the customer service here. The ladies here are very kind and courteous. I didn't feel rushed as customers started walking in. The shop is also kept very clean with adequate seatings. 10/10 read more

I was drawn in by the low prices, but unfortunately you really do get what you pay for. I came in for an underarm wax, and the technician actually burned me with the wax. When I yelped from the pain, she didn't apologize or show any concern--she just dismissed it like nothing happened. There was zero accountability, zero empathy, and no sense of professionalism. I left feeling upset and physically hurting. I'm never coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone who values safe or quality service. read more

I've been coming to this salon for a while since I live nearby and usually get my regular eyebrow threading and lip wax without any issues. However, today was a completely different experience. A different staff member worked on me and was extremely rough throughout the service. I've been getting threading and waxing for years and have never had such a painful or careless experience. She spilled drops of hot wax on my hand and even on my nose ring, and was yanking my face around aggressively. When she pulled the wax off, it was so harsh that my entire upper lip is now swollen. I understand everyone has a different technique, but this felt rushed and careless. I hope management takes note and ensures more consistency in service quality. read more

Upon going here with my fiancée I noticed that the waxer was far more rougher on her than she was with me. It ultimately seemed unfair that she was straight to the point with trying to get it over with as fast as possible causing discomfort and even leaving her skin super irritated from how hot the wax was. The general redness one usually gets post-wax is called follicular edema but given that the wax was hot it removed a layer of skin almost making it look like she had red face paint on her eyebrows. On the other hand I was treated more calmly and with extra care which felt wrong given that my fiancée was treated by the waxer. read more

I love going there once a month to get my eyebrows threaded. I normally don't mind who threads my eyebrows since my eyebrows usually come out on fleek. The service is great and the prices are affordable. I'm always happy to support their services. read more

I've been going to this place for about five years now , my former wax Specialist just had a baby so it's safe to say that if I walk in I am always seen promptly and or told when would be a good time to come back in case you have a favorite and it happens to be there day off . The staff is extremely personable and even with her well behaved son service is always spectacular! Idk why anyone would have anything negative to say about these hard working ladies . I would highly recommend For brows if you have a unibrow as myself , Mustache , armpits and Brazilian. I'm trying the facial next I'll let you all in later read more

Pure Threading Salon - I meannn the work speaks for it self ! - Threading Services Near Me - Astoria, New York

Horrible extensions. She used ardell lash fans on me. The ends looked extremely blunt and disgusting. She miss placed a lash so I asked her to fix it. She ripped it off and I felt my natural lashes come out with it. Therefor I was too afraid to ask her to fix them. She told me that they should last 10 days to 2 weeks. Next day two fans come out. I called to see what can be done and she didn't help. She yelled on the phone and said it was my fault, even though I was kind and respectful and tipped her. I've gotten lashes done before and know how to care for them. Not my fault. I explained I can only come in Thursday and she said that I would have to pay full price. So unprofessional. My friends came here before as well. She used different lashes on them. She completely denied this although pictures say otherwise. read more

I love this place for eyebrow threading! They always do a quick and professional job and finish up by a little trimming with scissors (necessary if one has long brow hairs, as I do). And at $6, the price can't be beat! read more

This is a solid eyebrow spot in Astoria! I've been here a couple times before. This time, I went with the Eyebrow Threading ($5) and Upper Lip Wax ($5). The lady who did my services was super attentive to detail and took her time with it. I was happy with how they come out. They have a Rewards Card which gives you 1 free eyebrow threading after 10 visits! I'll probably come back here if I'm back in town. read more

My eyebrows are now two different shapes. My eyebrows were big & full, she threaded them super thin & into different shapes. I'm so upset. I should have made a big deal of it there but honestly was so upset, I just left. Don't go here. read more

I have been a customer of this threading salon since before it moved and I've only had the best things to say. However, after my experience today I would never return and would never recommend to anyone again. The employees' children like to run around and play with the mothers as they have hot wax in their hand and deny if it gets into a customer's hair. Also, they always make comments if you have any skin conditions or pimples and try to convince you that your upper lip is disgusting and needs there service. If you say anything to them they will just speak about you in their language and laugh about it. I've never been more embarrassed in my life and left with wax in my hair and my eyebrows uneven. read more

they do an amazing job with eyebrow threading and actually take the time with you so your eyebrows are clean and even. I've been to several places far more expensive and it's always a quick 5 minute session and there's still stray hairs I have to pluck myself. This place is amazing and I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood! read more

I walked in yesterday and I had to write a review for Kaipana because she gave me her absolute best service! I had let my eyebrows grow out in purpose to try out a new threading place and I couldn't be more pleased! I DID NOT FEEL ANY PAIN..this is amazing to women with THICK hair lol apart from her being gentle she was so smart to know NOT to thread the edge of my eyebrows all the way (this is important for those who want their eyebrows looking full). Also, I really appreciate how she didn't rush through this service and how she actually took her time. Most eyebrow places in Astoria tend to do these services quick and personally fast service is NOT a better outcome. Thank you Kaipana so much for caring about your customers read more

I made the mistake of getting my eyebrows done here when the normal lady that I go to wasn't working at the salon. I had a middle-aged Asian lady who didn't seem to understand the concept of eyebrow threading, yet she works at a threading salon she kept trying to push on me to get my eyebrows waxed, however, I wasn't interested in that because I cannot get my eyebrows waxed due to pigmentation in my skin. She then proceeded to try and tell me to hold my eyebrows a certain way, which caused more pain, and I was never directed to hold my eyebrows like this at any previous experience, and I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for over 25 years. Additionally, she kept singing a song and humming in my ear throughout the entire experience, and failed to ask me if I wanted a certain shape or consult with me about my preferences . I had to stop her twice when she was doing my eyebrows because it didn't seem like she was taking any hair off yet she was just slowly moving a string of thread. After completing my eyebrows, she didn't even trim and it looks like nothing was done. I also try to explain to her how I wanted a certain clean line underneath as a girl normally does and then she asked if I just wanted it done on one which didn't make any sense to me as people would normally want their eyebrows done on each eyebrow, the same way. She then proceeded to laugh and speak with the girl next to her and their native tongue. I thought it was very rude and I thought it was another horrible experience. So now I learned I have to find a new eyebrow place in Astoria. read more

Used these guys back in February the day before my friends birthday.specifically told her to thread me no wax. Went ahead and started putting wax on my face anyways. Needless to say broke out in a rash that took literally weeks to clear up. (The reason I decided to put this yelp up now is because just found a GOOD threading service through this app and thought it might help a girl out in future) I have pictures of my neck and face that I took a picture a week after but don't know how to attach but believe me when I say it was pretty bad read more

I just got my eyebrows done here and once I left the place and looked at them, they were hideous. I should've just left them how they were! And the lady threading has lots of side comments she says to her other friend in her language which is rude, I understood a little. Never coming back here again. They suck sometimes and now definitely never coming back. read more

I walked in here at this location on a Thursday night about 7:55pm, they close at 8pm. There were 2 people working and 1 was taking care of someone, the other was at the desk ignoring me. I was ignored for about 8 mins before the woman at the desk decided to ask me to come back tomorrow. I told her no, I really needed to get my eyes done. After another 6 mins of ignoring me she decided to take me. Not only did she do a rush, terrible job, 3 days later I noticed 2 scabs on the side of my eye. She was also not very nice. If she told me she couldn't take me the minute I walked in, I would have left but to ignore me and then decide she didn't want to take me wasn't acceptable. I guess the joke was on me since she did a terrible job and cut me. Don't go to this location, they have no sense of customer service and apparently have no pride in their services. read more

Omg let me tell you I went at around 7pm to get semi permanent eyelash extensions yesterday and now at 230am I'm sitting miserable in so much pain pounding headache from the shit job this lady did wow I can't believe people do this she clumped so much glue so many eyelashes I can barely open my eyes. They are watering and irritated and burning and I told her and she kept on now I have to wait till morning to get them removed I tried everything. What a bs spot!!! read more

Convenient and friendly service. Located right next to the subway stop, I got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded at an unbeatable price for the neighborhood. $5 for each service, to a total of $10 + tip. The lady is very pleasant and followed my request to not thin my brows out and gave me some nice strokes of pressure point massage as she rubs the lotion at the end of the service. Will be back. read more

would rate this place a 0 if i could. i do not recommend this place at all only one lady here knows how to do eyebrows without fucking up your arch or making your eyebrows too skinny. i got lash extensions done here and the lady didn't know how to do it so the lashes barely stayed on the two weeks i had them, and when she removed them she ripped out most of my natural lashes. read more

First time customer- I'm very satisfied with my eyebrow threading! Two women were working and I was seen right away (came in around 5pm on a weekday). The technician was thorough and made sure I was satisfied with each eyebrow. The lotion and the brief message at the end was an added bonus, all for $5! I highly recommend them. read more
